  1. Shouldn't everyone have to pay something towards healthcare? Our premiums in Ga. are higher because we did not take the federal Medicaid. That is what this discussion is about. We are in the exact same place as we were before reform. Insurance companies are gouging the people that can pay, because the hospitals are gouging them for those that can't pay. The goal is to get every penny that people pay for healthcare into the hands of healthcare providers. It does away with the need to gouge people that make more. It is the only way it will work that is why insurance companies are now limited o
  2. You tell me the difference between some punk kid holding a gun to your head and asking for all your money and a pharmaceutical company asking for everything you own to save you from dying of cancer. Anybody can put on a suit and tie, but it does not change the reality of what they are doing to human beings by the millions in this country. Did you know that pharmaceutical reps selling heart valves make more a year than the surgeon saving lives with them? I have never hated anyone I can only assume how you might treat someone you hate. Maybe you would sit by and watch them die instead of taki
  3. I guess your not special anymore. I know the feeling I lost my special status when I turned 50.
  4. Keep trying to convince me that helping 1/2 of the American access to affordable healthcare is the sign of administration that hates it's people.
  5. I click through to the Forbes because I often read the articles from them. I interpreted the article as advice to investors. From now on hospitals will run in the black instead of the red. Insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies will no longer be able to make obscene profits so change your portfolios accordingly.
  6. What is topping you from going online like anyone else, picking a policy and paying monthly premiums. My premium was actually less with the same benefits. Same company too.
  7. I am prepared to cope with the problems that arise from people getting relief from their pain and suffering. I may regret a lot of things someday but I can see nothing to regret about healthcare reform. Not only will many get relief, it will put a stop to people dying broke or starting their lives broke due to serious illness. There are a lot of special people out there, we all have the opportunity to work hard, make good or bad decisions. It is immoral to set aside basic healthcare for only the special people. It is difficult for me to take pleasure in my special status(being able to aff
  8. http://twed.com/some-guy-posted-his-hospital-bill-online-youll-see-why-everyones-talking-about-it/ Some Guy Posted His Hospital Bill Online. Youll See Why Everyones Talking About It. February 9, 2014 Uncategorized A 20 year-old man came down with appendicitis in October of this year. He posted the bill on Reddit and it has gone viral. The US Health Care system is a topic of much debate, not only in the US but around the world. A lot of countries get free health care, so needless to say, this has stirred up a lot of conversation. As if waking up in excruciating pain isnt
  9. That was true for the state of Georgia. Doctors and hospitals have already made the changes that will get them paid under healthcare reform. The hospitals fully expect to be reimbursed well for their services. Many have added new wings over the last year with large well equipped rooms. Foes that sound like a system that expects to be starved over the next few years. Nope, because insurance companies can no longer starve them. Georgia has no choice but to take the federal Medicaid money to comply with healthcare reform. The citizens are outraged at the lack of help with policies that were
  10. The insurance companies are the ones that took the policies away. If a man never uses birth control then the company never has to put that money out, same maternity care. You all know how insurance works so these little arguments are ridiculous. I have never had cancer yet the money I pay every month helps pay for someone that does. The price of insurance if it still exist in 3 years will be much lower. You just don't really get it, there will be no policies available for employers that don't have the mandates in them. To raise the price of premiums insurance companies have to prove that they
  11. I look forward to the rest of them pulling out. Nothing there to miss unless you enjoy being ripped off or believe health care professionals, researcher's, and manufacturers that save thousands of people from suffering and dying deserve to be ripped off. They can insure cars, homes, boats whatever, but they don't belong in healthcare. They can't tell the difference between a car and a human being , Good Riddance.
  12. It is very simple the cost of healthcare and premiums are going to drop. You forget under the old system insurance companies were keeping almost 1/2 of the money intended to go to pay doctors, hospitals and other health related products and services. That 50% will more than cover healthcare cost. Insurance companies almost never paid 100% for anything. The healthcare facilities where charging twice the amount hoping to get at least 1/2 of that , which was the real cost of healthcare. If you didn't comprehend the flaws in the old system you can't comprehend the solution. Everything is polit
  13. I don't click through to any of your links. Just know you are posting them for the benefits of others. I no longer read articles on it. Most are perpetuating myths about healthcare reform for the Obama haters to feed on. You people make everything into democrat vs republican. It is simply healthcare reform, not Obama care. He didn't write a word of it and the republicans didn't read a word of it. If it weren't so sad it would be funny.
  14. Yes sir I am. For reform to work every single person must pay into healthcare. Those too poor to pay anything will have the government contributing for them. Those that refuse to write a check for healthcare will have the government deduct it from their taxes and write the check for them. The old way I was paying through my premium for the people uninsured that were treated at the hospital, and paying again through my taxes. There will be no more price gouging of the insured to pay for the uninsured. Heartless and uncaring is the trademark of the supposed far right. There is nothing ri
  15. How about I talk about the waste of life of our people that have died for causes I don't believe in ? Oh my how dare I assume! your cool-aid is so much sweeter. The American way is to cheeze on our own and sacrifice all for others. Many of which were to chicken cheeze to stand up for themselves. so we had to give the lives of the brightest and bravest while old freakin cronies smoked cigars and got rich on the blood of our children! Your cool-aid comes from a cesspool of blood and bull crap. You of all people can visualize what I describe. Sad so very sad. By the way it is Healthca
  16. Maybe I can help some of find something positive about healthcare reform maybe even spiritual about it. Why don't you do this tonight when you lay down and say your prayers. Pray a prayer of thankfulness to the many that have passed on, thank them for losing everything they ever worked for when they became very sick. Even though they had worked hard all their lives, paid for insurance, paid their taxes yet died broke with nothing left to show for it. Many of them had 401k"s , retirement, Social security and even insurance premiums they paid as long as they could. Every dime they had went
  17. They are going to spend it on something. It is barbaric that people in this country think any and everything that tax money can be spent on is better than the pain and suffering and sometimes the death of others. The special people that have insurance through their jobs need to know that you have been(about 50%) of the population have been paying for everything. Equipment, salaries, drugs ect. You ever wonder why an aspirin is 10.00. This will eventually lower the premiums of those of us that have paid for insurance all our lives and get pushed out by high premiums as we age. Healthcare ref
  18. As kids we were taught to never throw so much as a gum wrapper out of the car or on the ground. Almost every outdoor event I have been to here people drop their trash where they sit or walk. Littering is about home training, it is a reflection on your parents, even if they never threw trash out the window or on the ground,
  19. We would not even be talking about him if people had not chosen to believe him and follow him. He should have been labeled as a demented old man and ignored. There are people out there that love to hate and they will willingly follow anyone that gives them a way to express it. The memories of his hate and all those he hurt will be with him for an eternity. If you guard your heart against the negative things in life you won't get sucked into things like this group did.
  20. You don't think that much money should be in the hands of healthcare professionals? Money that allows them to have annual budgets for all their supplies, equipment, and personnel? At least you are smart enough to realize that you can't purchase something labeled Obama care so you are doing better than most. I do worry that you are one of those that blame the healthcare professional for the high cost of medical care and insurance. Healthcare reform is a process. The federal Medicaid was always intended to be short term. The states that refused it only caused the process to take longer. I
  21. I understand people die of alcohol. I just can't understand things like flesh eating drugs, things cut with rat poison. Having no idea the strength of what you are taking. Smoking bath salts that make you foam at the mouth and have seizures. I just don't get taking a chance with that stuff when you can buy something cheaply that is regulated and does basically the same thing.
  22. http://politics.blog.ajc.com/2014/03/20/the-republican-state-senator-who-endorsed-medicaid-expansion/ Finally a Republican than can read and comprehend for himself!!! I am beyond disgusted with the legislators that have refused to educate themselves about healthcare reform. It is even more of a tragedy that they have not educated their constituents and allow popular media to continue to pressure them through their constituents. I will never allow a Dr. that says he won't take Obama care to touch me. If I can do the research and comprehend this very complex transition to healthc
  23. I understand the addiction part.. It has always seemed to me that addicted people are sometimes even more sensitive than those that aren't. I just wonder why they make the dangerous choice when it comes to self medicating.. I have heard the term drug of choice. I wonder if that means that some mind altering drugs feel right to them and some don't. It just seems that alcohol is relatively safer. I know about the spring winding scenario you speak of. Dry drunks can be so bad you want them to drink.
  24. I am starting seeds in my green house today. I will put the heater and grow light in when I am done. It feels like Christmas day to me!!
