Not having a public meeting left a huge vacuum with no factual information for people to make up their minds. That vacuum has now been filled with rumors, gossip, misinformation and anti airport people. So those that may have supported it have very little to go on. I don't think it is fair to place people in the category of either you are with us or against us because they have questions. It seems as though there is little faith in people to listen to the facts and make up their minds.

I agree that I have not seen a shred of proof that anyone is personally profiting. It is very difficult to support those trying to make the airport a success when they have not opened up to the public. I don't care if the handful severely impacted don't have a pot to pi$$ in. They deserve to be fairly compensated for relocation. I have yet to speak to anyone that does not agree with that. When the article came out and it said we expect very little opposition except for a few that don't count, how do you think most people took that? And everything that has followed has been in line with t

I know some have gone for answers, answers that commissioners and board members of the AA and IBA should have answered in a similar type of setting. People needed to speak up publicly and stand behind what they believed a while back. Not doing it was probably the single most negative thing ever. I know it is hard, I will never forget the Toll road meeting and how scared I was after coming out in support of it. It needed to be done in this circumstance. This is not going to turn out well and I hate it. Whats done is done.

The question is, have they broken the law? Laws do not have to be moral or fair. You can say they are mean, immoral, unfair, greedy and just plain wrong all day long. Our taxes pay for the lawyers that keep them from breaking the law. At the end of the day that is really all there is to it. They may all lose their post eventually but nobody can break the law to overturn what they have done. We are one of the most conservative counties in the country, and we act surprised by this?

Pubby I know you have taken a lot of grief and down right animosity over the years for being a democrat. As far as I am concerned we are seeing the fundamental difference between the democrat and the republican very close to home. The republican listens to the lawyer and the democrat listens to the people. Our laws are constantly being manipulated by those that have the money to pay lawyers to pass the laws that serve sometimes the interest of the single person or corporation. This airport needs to be successful in this community. The success of the housing boom was beneficial to

There are a lot of relevant questions to be answered by key people in this county. Until there is a venue where those questions are answered openly and honestly nothing will change. What is happening now will only make lawyers richer and the tax payers not only broker but distrustful of the leadership in this county and those they appoint to key positions. As I said before elections will not change the fact that the airport needs to be successful and we now have a signed contract with Propeller. The lack of effort to be open and explain the position of the county as it pertains to th

Can someone in the cafeteria be assigned to warm her food? Even a secretary in the office could microwave food for her in the teachers break room. You may have to go to school administration to get assistance. If your child was a diabetic I can tell you they would be much more helpful because everyone understands diabetes and it being life threatening. I wish you luck in resolving this.

My only concern is for the homeowners that will be severely impacted by the large planes. There has to be a way to distinguish severity. I know there is also a business up there that will be negatively impacted. If the money has not already been paid to the lawyers it will be before it is over. These people can be bought out. It is starting to look like to me that lawyers are running this county with the only consequences for their advice being a bigger payday. As we all know the law is not always moral. The law does however leave a lot of room for people to act in a moral way.

I hope you didn't take anything I said as criticism. I thought your child was much younger than 9. It is really hard to have a child that is severely limited, I would ask for a meeting with the nurse and the principal. Work something out. I am not sure if your child can have an assigned place in the cafeteria's coolers for food that you date and bring every week. Maybe a refrigerator in the nurses office, My son took his medicines to the principals fridge to keep it cold and at lunch time he was allowed to take it. I am pretty sure your child has some rights within the school system to t

I would like to see compromise. It is going to be difficult if not impossible. I have seen it happen before that when you have a cause you will take any support you can get. A compromise can not address the many reasons that people are on this band wagon. Some truly want that airport gone and to fail. I don't see that we can compromise with those folks. Some want us to remain a small bedroom community and don't want anymore building of anything. I can see no compromise in that. There are those that are politically motivated and want commissioners removed and want others in their

I have a child that has a special diet. The results of eating the wrong food are brain damage and death. He has a med he takes that uses up potassium. He can actually die of a heart attack if it becomes to low. A cup of orange juice can stop it. He was always told to do what he needed to do. Go straight to the office where your health record is and have them pull it. If the teacher says no keep on walking to the office. You should never hold school staff responsible for your child's diet. Educate and empower your child to say no to these foods. At the end of the day these people go home

I appreciated Mr. Carmicheal's words that he truly believes that they were not doing anything wrong. It is the responsibility of those commissioners to turn that airport around. I think the first question they should ask is why has it floundered for so many years and how do you turn it around. The goal of the IBA is to create jobs, not just any jobs, they certainly can not spend money on retail and restaurants due to the fact that they don't produce well paying jobs. Assisting the airport with funding to create jobs is well within their mission. The BOC focuses on the collecting and s

I don't want anymore conventional wars. I don't want our men and women dying. We can do the job remotely. I see nothing wrong in us using our capabilities that save American lives. I think the message is clear to the rest of the world. We are not going to be engaged in another ground war and sacrifice our people. I can't imagine why people would be upset about a policy that puts our armed forces in less danger and ultimately cost the taxpayer less. It really does not cost less because taxpayer dollars have paid for the research and the weapons. It is like putting all new appl

I am not sure if I am the only one that can tell when beef steak has meat tenderizer on it. It changes the texture and I can tell with the first bite it has been used. When I go to a steak house I expect to pay a hefty price for a very high grade of meat. I don't expect a low grade tough steak chemically tenderized. The big expensive horny place had put it on the prime rib. I will not be returning. As far as Mexican I have had food poisoning from a few and Chinese also, especially the mom and pops. I am pretty sure with Mexican it was the veggie side they serve with dishes. If

Actually this move should scare the hell out of any country that seeks to challenge us in the future. We have had the capability for many years to defend ourselves with very few personal on the ground. This is due to our advanced technology. It is a message to the rest of the world, we don't have to put troops on the ground for you to kill. I have been very frustrated seeing our people killed because we were fighting a fair war. Of course people at the Pentagon are afraid of losing their jobs. Why should they be any different than the thousands of Americans that have lost their jobs t

Do Catholics really have to make the sign of the cross? It use to freak me out in school when we said the lords prayer and the Catholic kids and sometimes the teacher would do it. When I visited a Catholic church the first time and they were kneeling I was like what? Do they really have to do these things? A reasonable person says no not really, God does not worry about such things. Tweak it a little in the Koran and say God will punish you or not listen to your prayers if you don't. You literally need to put yourself in their shoes. You have never known anything but your own religi -
The first question is will everyone concerned be better off. The truth is almost always the best solution to most problems. No matter how bad the truth is we can work with it, the solutions will be the actual solutions. Finding solutions for myths and lies just creates more problems. A part of my family tree has close to the same scenario with a few twist a little different. My grandparents were divorced. They had 3 children. It was no secret that my grandmother had an affair with a married man during one of the many separations. My grandfather was religious and by all accounts

I try to always use the golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. There are some inherent problems with that due to personality differences. Our perspective is as individual as we are. My morality is my own. I may feel I am doing the right thing by someone else based on what is acceptable to me. The golden rule as far as I am concerned is the only way to be as moral as humanly possible in your actions. Some people confuse it with do people as I have been done.

Actually it was not about the existence of a supreme being. It was about religion. Should we create discrimination laws based on a certain religious belief. If your religion says that you should hate another person, the government does not legislate that you can not hate based on your religious beliefs. It legislates that you can not act based on those beliefs. The law does not allow you to victimize other people or those beings such as animals and children that can not defend themselves. -

He has every right to discuss religious beliefs in the context that there are people out there that would create laws based on their religious beliefs that would effect him. -

I really don't know the religion of the people that bombed a church full of black people, nor the religion of the hundreds that hanged or tortured African Americans over the years. I do know that many felt their Christian religion supported the dehumanization of black people. You may want to study some more history, look up the riots in Oklahoma were a black town was bombed. -

I believe that our laws are pretty clear when it comes to discrimination. While many choose to believe that they are christian based I don't believe that is the rule. Lets look at a society that has no religion. How would you govern such a society to be peaceful and productive. The intent of our constitution and laws is just that. Discrimination will eventually lead to unrest and violence. I don't believe that businesses should be allowed to show hatred and in reality promote it against anyone based on their religion or race. If Sharia law demands discrimination then it is not ac -
Exactly It looks like discrimination to me. You could replace gay with, black, Hispanic. or disabled, disfigured and it would be the same discrimination. You can ask someone to put on a shirt or shoes, but not who or what they are. There is no way I would let them bake my cake and eat it after getting a judgement against them. You have to wonder if their underlying belief was that they scored some brownie points with God for defending their religious beliefs. I also believe that people that can hide their sin tend to be rather self righteous.
