I hope you are having a great Bday! Luv you much!

Low, that would be great. I am not going to be able to make it up there to bring her anything or even give her a hug. I am just too sick this morning. I am in the bed. The meds take a while and sometimes all the die off makes you worse. So anything anybody can do to comfort them would be great. If you go up hug them for me and tell her how sorry I am I can't get up there. I am not sure I will even be able to drive tomorrow. Love you.

Please continue to lift Thad and his family up in your prayers. Thad had a serious bleed and is still in surgery. Melissa is in the surgical waiting room waiting while he is in surgery at Wellstar Paulding where she has been there all night. They expect him to be in ICU for a few days as they get the infection under control. I may go up there later with some snacks. He will not be in a regular room which makes the waiting difficult for the family.

I feel bad I have not been with them through this, I have been sick since I returned from vacation last weekend. I have to leave Sunday to be with my dad for his cancer surgery. I mention this only because they could use the support of some of their other friends at this time. I couldn't even get up there tonight to be with them or visit at the other hospital. Don't hesitate to call or drop in for visits when possible.

I just got an update, they are planning a CT scan. His vitals are stable and they have given him pain meds.
-
They had to take him to Paulding ER in an ambulance. He was experiencing severe abdominal pain and swelling. That is all the information I have for now. Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts. I will try to update as soon as I know something. He just can't seem to catch a break lately.

Father who left child in hot car charged with murder
LPPT replied to NinaBritt's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You read about intentional abuse that ends in death every week. Obviously people can't handle being a parent, don't want to be one ect. Why don't they simply give them up? Do they fear censorship from family and society? My guess is yes. Perhaps we could create a mental condition, that people can't help having like bi-polar. We label it, diagnose it, give people the out that says I have to give my child up because I have an incurable mental disease. We need to find a solution that helps the children. Shaming, blaming and judging those that are bad parents does zero to prevent damagin -

I am stunned to hear this. She was way too young, this is tragic. I can't understand how she could have been in the emergency room a few days ago and they did not find whatever was wrong with her that caused her death. It had been a long time since she was happy. I am pretty sure that my husband and I helped her with Christmas for her teens years ago. I know then that she talked about how appreciative she was to be able to give them something for Christmas, it meant a lot to her. That is the reason we always chose to help families with teens. It hurts the mom more than the kids to not b -
Blondie I can't recommend a company to you but I do have some suggestions. I am not too sure how much basic information you know about plants that do well here. Some do better than others. Good quality dirt and backfill for shrubs is a necessity to grow anything here. If you are going to sod with bermuda you need sturdy barriers between lawn and flower beds it is very invasive. If you don't have a lot of knowledge ask your friends if you have some that garden extensively to check every plan. They can help you with the reality of care of beds and shrubs. If they want to put down sod in A

Just talked to Mellisa, They don't like the way Thad is breathing and placed him on oxygen. She is going up there to stay with him. I am not overly alarmed, my daughter had some issues, whether from the pain meds, anesthesia the oxygen had to stay on until she left. I truly hope that is all that it is. Praying and hoping for a great outcome. Those of us that are close to them know how much Thad truly suffered the last few weeks. -
It will be our last break for a while. Going to rest up and head to Memphis to take care of my dad after surgery. I am going to try to have a girl friend day at the pool next week before I go. Would love to have you.

The sun was very intense at the beach today. This is our last night so a late night walk on the beach is very possible.

So tell us . . . why did you seek political power?
LPPT replied to publisher1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I am not buying that it is a certain poster. He really is not the cause of the negativity and animosity. You now have a majority of people that come here for the rough stuff and save their funny and inspirational posting for other social networking sites. It is simply human nature to be drawn to the positive. It is emotional problems that draw people to negativity. We can agree to disagree on this one. If TP were the real problem people would not respond to his post. Get rid of him and you will simply create a vacuum for more people like him. Honestly I am glad it is not my problem anymore. I -

Confrontational political postings are what has killed this sight. Much of it began in the political forum, but the animosity followed the posters to other forums. Political debating and arguing are not a mainstream activity for the majority of the public. The people that enjoy this type of confrontational use of the Internet are in the minority. That is why there is a small minority of visitors to this site. Before I came to P.com I was not a confrontational type person or one to argue, I would just shrug and walk away. I have grown weary of the negativity and the attacks and spend much -
It is TMI, Our brains are processors. They process on 2 levels, intellectual and emotional. Our minds like never before in the history of man kind have to divide the information into the category of real or not real. We read stories, documentaries, whatever we have an emotional reaction to fantasy and reality that are exactly alike. We then have another step which is to process it as fantasy and end the emotional reaction or process it as real and continue to feel what we feel. It has been proven over and over that if you accept something as reality and allow yourself to feel, it is very di

Ron Crist, December 25, 1971 - June 5, 2014
LPPT replied to Clark Funeral Home's topic in May they rest in Peace
I have been thinking about Ron off and on since the accident. I keep remembering his big smile and almost child like enthusiasm for his company and community projects. I remember doing ad campaigns with him, he loved to negotiate. When he walked into a room you could feel the energy. This is a huge loss to this community. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and employees. -
What is happening at the roofing company on 92?
LPPT replied to jnha's topic in Paulding County NEWS
This is sad news. My heart goes out to his family and his employees. He was very hard working and ambitious. He was a moderately sized employer here in the county and a very dedicated family man. He will be missed by many. -

Ok, anybody know how to get rid of a Possum on the half shell?
LPPT replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They eat grubs. The trap might work if you you dig up grubs and bait it with that. If you use a chemical to rid your yard of grubs they will move on for food. -

I have wondered for a very long time what qualifies an engineer to hold the positions on the PCAA and the IBA that Blake holds? It just does not seem like a very good fit. It amazes me that he has become the most powerful person in this county when it comes to spending taxpayers money and litigation. As far as I know almost all of his decisions have been backed by the IBA and the PCAA. Can you blame Blake for taking 2 paychecks? Obviously he is seen as an expert on both organizations. I have been shaking my head over this one for a long time. -
They moved all the staff to the new hospital. I didn't expect it to change much or improve. There was nothing about the old hospital that caused the staff to be any better or worse. It was the staff and the hospital administration that caused the issues in the old hospital.

So let's get down to brass tacks - election fallout
LPPT replied to kcarlsonlpn's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think some folks are going to be disappointed. The county has obligations and contracts to fulfill. They will probably have to go to the county's legal council to understand much of those details. They can not waltz in there and do what they please. They can practice transparency in explaining why they can't do some things, but some they will have no choice in. They will find themselves facing the wrath of the 10,000. The big picture is almost a 150,000 people that they have to do what is best for. That is often in conflict with 10,000. We will so what they can and can't do next year
