  1. That's what I said You could testify to the fact that the pepper was finally the only thing that worked on the biting!!! the rest
  2. You were so sweet! and still are Most of the time
  3. Yep same here, the younger would bite the older, I would try to get the older one to at least hit her when she did it. She would say mommy I can't hurt her. We are talking almost constant biting and hair pulling for years. Drove me nuts, looked like an octopus had gotten her she had so many bite marks.
  4. For many years this was the accepted cure for biting, I never liked it, I just couldn't bring myself to bite them hard enough to make an impact, I can assure you the parent who's child just got bit probably could!! until you have heard the shriek of pain when a child is being being bit , you might not understand.
  5. I tried everything with my youngest daughter. Finally I poured a healthy dose of pepper on her tongue and refused her any water. Needless to say this left a huge impact as she sat spitting and screaming for about 10 minutes. Biting is a serious issue as it can cause sever infections. Other parents resent their children being hurt in this way and day cares can not be expected to tolerate this behavior. Hoping they grow out of it and chastisement just is not the answer when they are hurting other children like this.
  6. If snow lays on the ground more than 3 days it is waiting on company.

  8. My kids use to say you never listen to me. I would say, you should be thankful, If I listened to you, I would probably kill ya!
  9. Tess this is the best thread anybody has started in a long time. It has been fun.
  10. The cook book was intended to be used as a fund raiser for Thomas Langley. He started receiving benefits before the book could be completed. He no longer would need the funds raised, continuing with the project would have left decisions to be made about where the funds would go, and should Thomas get the funds even though his circumstances were no longer dire, The decision was made to let the project go.
  11. They were charged with a crime. If you want to know what happened with that, give them a call, Steve and Nemie are very nice people, I am sure they would be glad to explain anything you want to know about it. In fact they are such nice people and have done so much for others and the community, many people myself included will miss them. I am looking forward to seeing them one last time and sharing in their joy of a dream come true moving to England.
  12. Since Thomas is gone I guess I can be more forthcoming about the entire situation. He believed that if you couldn't pay you could not get help. When his disability from his job ran out, he stopped going to the doctor because they were billing him, and he could not work or pay. He turned to a popular law firm that advertises they help with this, they did not bother to advise him that on how to get help or that it was available, they signed him on and waited as his cased got pushed back and forth through the system. They knew with their name on it they would get a portion of his settle
  13. Pubby, I know you remember your Sunday school lessons better than I do. I don't remember Christ ever being quoted as advocating violence against any human. I do remember a passage where he said there would be wars because it was our nature. I also remember him turning tables over in the market when he lost his temper because people were making a profit off of worshiping God, but he did not lay his hands on anyone to harm them. I was kind of when I read some of the post.
  14. AWW Tess the truth is, it is fun to dream, but being loved is really the most important thing. I would rather be crammed in my tiny kitchen with the people that love me, than to be rubbing elbows with the rich and beautiful. It is not fun being broke and struggling I have been there, but I have also seen families that greed tore apart and they had no trust and very little love for each other if any at all. It is a lonely scary world without loved ones to lean on, money can not buy you that kind of security.
  15. Now Scoot don't you worry LPPT is gonna tell you how the system works. Ya know that ole nigglin pain in yo belly. Ya know you orta go to the Doc to have it checked out, but you been checkin yo bank account and that ole unemplyment check ain't goin far as you thought it would. You try to decide if you need to take that last $100 and go to the doctor, or hope the light company might let you slide since you are unemployed and all. But then you say what if I go to the doctor and he looks at my chart and sees I ain't got no insurance, he says to himself well it's probably acid reflux and
  16. We are planning to remove all the wood mulch from the beds that we grow flowers and vegetables in this spring, there are many layers but we are going to move it where it can't harm anything, then treat the ground for fungus. We are also planning to make the hills for the squash as high as possible to hopefully get a good crop. It goes without saying that we will probably have a lot of issues with mold, fungus and even mosquitoes this year. People that don't have allergies can still have problems when there are a lot of irritants around. I imagine that many molds and fungus that
  17. Thank you GEAgirl, I like to discuss this issue with out the repetitive political view of what is happening right now. I think the objective for everyone should to talk about the issue in the context that everyone needs health care and to make sure there is a solution to make that happen. The real problems have got to be identified by the people, then we demand that those problems be solved not politicians tossing it back and forth, because at the end of the day we know they will provide for themselves.
  18. You would buy a giant headache For a $1 I have a baseball bat and a pretty good swing
  19. After reading this a few days ago I looked into it. The theory is that Cadillac plans are the culprits of pushing up UCR. This may be a small part of the problem but still does not address the main problem in the industry. The issue is paper pushing through middle men. The Dr.s nurses, pharmacist, and manufacturers do the actual work that assist patients. In order to get the patients money for the service it goes through multiple middle men to get to the actual providers bank account. You have someone in the doctors office getting paid to sit on a phone all day on hold to ver

  22. Did I step into something that started in another forum again
  23. Build my dream home. It would have a larger family room and dining room. I have 4 children 3 are grown, it is a big deal to me to have everyone sit at the dining room table and in the family room together. We all fit just barely now, but when they are all married and there are grand kids, this is what I want for when we are together.
