That reminds me of how much slower life was back then and what entertained us as kids. I can remember watching my dad clean fish as intently as my kids watch TV now. I also remember making ice cream and getting in trouble for stealing the salt and the ice and sucking on both, I swear it was almost as good as the ice cream. When it would start to get hard one of us kids would sit on it while someone cranked. I dreamed about a pet Chimpanzee and living in a tree house.

I can remember us looking for another spot when the speakers didn't work.

Cute as always

I loved those. check out the pic someone just posted on FB. Look familiar? I loved Tarzan, I think he was my first crush We watched Shirley Temple too!
-
I remember them well. Someone mentioned the smurfs and my little pony, my kids watched those

Isn't it funny we remember the shows because there were so few. My grandmother use to watch her stories They would feed us breakfast in the morning and put us out, clean the house, serve us PBJ with Kool-aid on the back porch then watch their stories. By today's standards we were neglected, and endangered. I loved tv nights when the whole family say down and watched, sometimes we would have Jiffy Pop, it was more fun watching it pop than eating it. I still remember making popcorn in a 5 quart pot with oil and salt.

I loved Johnny quest, I always loved cartoons with a story like Scooby doo. I think I was the only person on earth that hated the road runner, I actually wanted the coyote to finally die.

I got spanked one time for pulling the flowers from a neighbors yard and bringing them home!!!! We did not touch our parents things without permission. We had 3 channels growing up, my cousins in the city got cable tv years before we did in the country. I felt deprived! I can't remember what night Disney came on I am thinking Friday, because Saturday night was either Lawrence Welk or HeeHaw. These were shows we watched as a family like clock work.

I agree, we also box our kids in, so it is somewhat of a trade off. We all dream of our kids being collage educated, not because they have an aptitude for something specific but because we fear for their futures. I know I pressured mine. One ended up as a cosmetologist in an upscale salon, she truly loved it and had an aptitude for it. She is now back in college to become an electrical engineer. She realized that older cosmologist don't do as well because of standing all day and the amount of clients it take to make a good living. I have a daughter that loves retail and customer service,

I remember collecting coke bottles to buy bubble gum! Sour apple and grape!!!!

Yep, cartoons only came on Saturday mornings. We sat glued to the tv for hours that morning, sometimes with a bowl of cereal. It gave us something to look forward to. Now they are on all day every day, nothing special about watching them. It also makes me think of McDonalds fries that came in a little bag, you always wanted more but you knew you would have to wait until next time. I also don't ever remember getting a toy from the store because I simply wanted it. We only got toys on our birthday or Christmas. We always had to wait for things we wanted, lots of milestones growing

Cool! people were asking for wt and price. Disregard the question in the other thread. You rock!
-
Hi Wayne, folks want the WT and price on the steak specials, can you help me out?
-
Are you helping Pubby make that movie
-
It really is a bargain, of course I am fond of Rodney and Wayne. I get great service there also. It is on my way home which is a big plus too! He smokes the prime rib so it has a very flavorful bark on the outside.

I get up early so I eat my meals earlier than most, I usually have a little snack before bed. I am not positive about wt, it is an inch thick 6 inches wide and about 8 inches long. It comes with 2 sides for $13.99. I can't hardly buy a ribeye or tbone in the store that size for less than the cost of his steak with the sides.

Looks like I am dining alone, I am headed to the Wearhouse then Rodneys @5:00!

Vents always get moved to PP, I think simply because they become little vent parties with lots of folks jumping on the band wagon. We don't mind the vents or the parties that come with them, just in general they tend to be more amusing when placed in google free forums :p

Anybody want to join me? I usually take advantage of the prime rib night. Love the prime rib at Rodney's and the price also.

6-year-old handcuffed after tantrum in kindergarten class
LPPT replied to Blondiega1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I read Newsjunkies article. I can not imagine what it is like to work as an educator. Kids are openly defiant towards any type of authority. I am pretty sure I never threw a tantrum past the age of 3 or 4. What happened to that child is very mild compared to what would have happened in my home in response to a tantrum. I was never even allowed to slam a door growing up. I knew I had better mind adults in the community and especially school. The complaint in the article is about police being called more and more to deal with school discipline, were else are teachers going to turn? -
