  1. I don't know the others. I didn't spend a lot of time in the arcade - no $$$. But there were a few games at the roller rink where we used to skate. Man, you are bringing back some retro memories!
  2. I've taught piano in the past and could probably meet your fee if you can work with my weird schedules. I do have a piano here and can provide references. Do you currently play, or are you a complete beginner? Check your messages.
  3. 1. I agree with Pat regarding the Tiger Woods business and its comparison to the current topic. It's pure tabloidism. I'm glad to know that Pat finds it as gauche as I do for media operatives to enable and manipulate the discussion of controversial, salacious, or otherwise sensational subjects simply for the purpose of driving the ratings of their particular outlet, whether it be a news channel, a magazine... or even a web forum. 2. I don't know the people involved in this Hiram police force issue firsthand, but I do know and respect people who hold Mr. Shirley in high regard. That's
  4. Y'all have been on my mind all day. I am so sorry -- but I'll tell you this - your MawMaw and my Mammaw are going to have the BEST CHRISTMAS THEY EVER HAD! Praying for y'all...
  5. I understand that X was used as an abbreviation for Christ. I understand the Greek letter Chi. I also know that the majority of people who use X-mas have no idea what the linguistic background is. It's just a traditional shorthand of unknown origin for most, and in some number of cases I do believe it is probably intended to be purposely disrespectful to Christianity. Of course there are odd cases now and then where the term is used simply to rub other people's noses in how smart they aren't as compared to the writer... and thus to set them up to be severely chastised or 'educated' by
  6. Praying for BB and her family... I recognize all too well this sense of sadness for self and relief for the loved one who has moved on to her reward. Love ya BB - and you too, LR, for being such an amazing friend to her. Best, JMT
  7. It's a satirical story that has apparently been misunderstood and re-reported. http://www.inquisitr.com/51944/al-sharpton-on-tiger-woods/
  8. Did you totally uninstall the printer and then reinstall it?
  9. You can try restarting the print spooler service. Just google "restart print spooler" and you might find something useful there. Here's a link for doing it in Vista. I'm not recommending it, just suggesting you look around. This kind of solution has worked for us in the past. Good luck.
  10. I teach a seminar on easy memory training. I'm looking for a place do do it for free so I can record it. Stay tuned!
  11. My favorite carol is "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." Love me some "O Holy Night." Last night I worked a gig in Buckhead and they had this guy sing it -- all 3 verses, and the middle verse was one you don't usually hear. It was great! I like "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" -- have you heard Denver and the Mile High Orchestra do it? Great!
  12. Sorry, no zero option - just polling those who put up trees. I'll retitle it.
  13. I do think that the design of the body is beautiful and that it is the foundation for a lot of great art. (It is also the foundation for a lot of dreck masquerading as art... or worse.) I don't think you have to be a swimsuit model to be the subject of a beautiful nude piece of artwork. I couldn't do it myself. I'm confident enough in my body that when I was in professional musical theater and needed to change costumes backstage -- completely -- then that's fine with me. We were all professionals, focused on getting to the next scene. In the right setting for the right play or film
  14. LOVE the idea with Santa and the colored lights. We usually have solid white mini-lights on the main tree. Sometimes the kids get colored lights. I used to have colored lights on my big tree when I lived alone but Mrs. JMT has a designer's eye and likes solid white. I don't mind - I think I have grown to prefer the solid white, but I *love* Christmas and like many styles of decoration.
  15. Among those of you who put up a Christmas tree -- how many Christmas trees do you have at your house? Not decorations that look like trees - but actual physical trees with lights and/or ornaments? Mrs. JMT usually has 5 up at our house - various sizes and themes. One main tree, smaller ones in the kids' rooms, a small one in the guest room, and an antique toy tree on the landing overlooking the foyer. (That's not counting 3 undecorated miniature trees on the front porch.) We kind of get carried away sometimes, I think, but it's the most wonderful time of the year. Anyway -- how man
  16. CapedCrusader - I'm ready for your call. If you have a location where we can do this, I'll do the show. My life is about to get pretty complicated for a while, but I think this could be fun. If we can work out location and schedule, I'll do it! Keep your eyes on pcom for a detailed announcement later, everyone!
  17. Man, it hurts to watch your grandmother suffer. Still praying for peace and strength -- for MawMaw and for BB and family...
  18. This morning a lady made an illegal u-turn - in heavy traffic - into my lane. I was unable to stop before my car met her minivan. No injuries and the police said I'm not at fault, but good grief it's still a hassle. Luckily my crunched front corner didn't make the car undriveable and I was able to make it to my gig in Athens. Merry Christmas. :sigh:
