  1. Swifts are territorial and return to the site of their nests each year. Their nest usually falls apart after time, and they rebuild the next year. Just be sure they are all gone before you light the fire. It is against the law to kill them, and I'm sure you know that. We had swifts for several years in our chimney and did not know they were territorial (didn't really know anything about birds, except that they got into our chimney and made so much noise!), so we put a screen on top of the chimney to keep them out, after they vacated the nest. For 2 years in a row after that, they ca
  2. Where are you looking? I know some great realtors in the St. Simonds, Sea Island area.
  3. Sam's usually has good deals on Lay's products. Mix and match, huge bags. Does Sam's take coupons?
  4. The one on Dallas Highway in Marietta has also changed names.
  5. Olive Oil and dry ranch dressing mix. Or another favorite: Dredge pork chops in melted butter. Put corn flakes in a large ziploc type bag and crush them. Add pork chops, and shake to coat. Bake.
  6. Maybe your REO broker could suggest another real estate office in Carrollton. Your experience in that field could be promising.
  7. If you want to cook your chicken before you go, you could do this one pretty easily. Cooked chicken, cut up 1 can cream of chicken soup 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 box Uncle Ben's wild rice Shredded cheddar cheese Cook wild rice as directed on the box. Spray 9x13 pan with Pam (or use margarine). Place cooked rice in bottom of pan. Mix chicken, soup, and mayo together. Spread over rice. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Add shredded cheese on top and return to oven for about 5 minutes. (Mayo can be replaced with sour cream)
  8. Chicken and Rice Casserole 3-5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix 1 1/2 cups raw white rice 2 cups water Put rice in 9X13 inch pan. Place chicken on rice. Pour water, soup, and dry soup mix over chicken. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour.
  9. One of our favorites came from someone on here - sorry, I don't remember who! Put a pork tenderloin in the crockpot. Add a package of dry onion soup mix. Add a couple cans of whole-berry cranberry sauce. Cook on high for 4 hours. (I'm sure you can cook this on low for longer hours - we're just always in a hurry to eat it!) It's delicious! And, thank you to whomever posted this recipe originally!
  10. We were there about 3 days and only scratched the surface. Want to go back!
  11. I believe there's one in downtown Dallas on the 4th Saturday of each month, May-October.
  12. Buzz Lightyear, "I just can't land this thing."
  13. One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
  14. Don't you just feel like you can take a deep breath and relax when you cross that county line? It feels so good to come home, I'm glad I went.
  15. And, we have to remember, this is the "Entitlement" generation. Sad, really.
  16. We have friends who live in Cave Spring. They raise beef cattle. Near the cave, there's also a very large, spring fed, swimming pool in the shape of the State of Georgia. Warning, the water is cold!! Enjoy!
  17. Please refer to Post #42, regarding Georgia Cave Law. It's pretty clear to me.
  18. This is from Georgia Cave Law: Link: http://sktfi.org/gacavelaw.html ** CODE SECTION *** 12/03/01 12-4-143. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person, without the express written permission of the owner, willfully or knowingly to: (1) Break, break off, crack, carve upon, write upon, burn, or otherwise mark upon, remove, or in any manner destroy, disturb, deface, mar, or harm the surfaces of any cave or any natural or archeological material therein, including speleothems; (2) Disturb or alter in any manne
  19. Oh, I guess that's why our backdoor neighbors keep tearing our signs down. They think they can trespass if there are no signs. Interesting. ETA: Or, are you saying they have a RIGHT to trespass?????
  20. We've been to 37 states, so far, and they all are beautiful. Everywhere we go, we say,"Oh, we could live here!" One of my favorites is Mackinaw Island, MI. If I win the lottery, I'll have a summer house there (if the yellow one can be purchased, that is!)
  21. We've had V for years, but are thinking about changing. Our reception at home is almost non-existent (usually 1 little tower) and there are several areas around here where calls fall off. Also, not much service if traveling out west, particularly. I guess no one company has total coverage though.
  22. Check with the Hiram Coffee House in Olde Town Hiram. They will open for 'special events'. Great food, great people!
  23. Visit the library. Have a 'Let's Bake Cookies Day' and take the cookies to the senior citizens home. Tie-dye t-shirts. Hike up Kennesaw Mountain.
