  2. Or one of those, "surely someone loves them enough to tell them ......."
  3. THANK YOU ALL........AGAIN!!!!! To say "Thank You" seems so inadequate but I cannot come up with anything better to say. Doug is doing okay but - as to be expected is even more sore today. His ribs are bruised really bad, his back hurts, basically he hurts all over. But, I am SO THANKFUL he WILL heal with time. He has an appointment to follow-up with the PCP tomorrow. Your continued thouhts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
  4. And not too awfully bad on the eyes, either. Or at least he didn't have that madman crazy serial killer look about him.
  5. I have a job for trim work your DH is going to get called for in Marietta. It will be awhile before they are ready but I keep forgetting to tell ya about it. Remind me next time we talk and I'll fill ya in.
  6. :yahoo: That is part of a family tradition: Christmas Eve dinner at Waffle House and Life University Christmas lights.
  7. HOW SAD!!! Prayers said for the man, his family and loved ones.
  8. When I worked at DFCS I would often make this statement. Because unless it is someone's birthday, a marriage or the birth of a baby, you don't find it in the "news" here in Paulding. The innocent bedroom community it is no more and unfortunately much of the crime and ugliness of the big city has reached west. From what the daughter posted on FB, these children have returned to FL and are living with family.
  9. I did not see the game but that is a great way to show support and encouragement for him. How sad! I will keep him and his family in my prayers.
  10. Okay, I know my memory is bad and all that, but someone was at my house and saw the Alabama/Auburn House Divided flag and asked if I had a Georgia/Georgia Tech House Divided Flag. And, I am pretty certain it was a customer from p.com. Anyone???? I now have one available.
  11. I may have to try this one too. Sounds YUMMMMMMY!
  12. DD and family came over to visit with Pop and she picked up KFC chicken finger meal with mashed taters and cole slaw.
  13. I had left my phone in Mer's Durango when we came home from taking the girls to Alabama to see Santa. And, she had taken it in her house so I didn't have my phone with me. She is bringing it this evening. BTW...............ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!
  14. Just flipped over after the game - he does have some occasional smoke - maybe it is just a matter of time?????? COME ON MARK!!!!!!! I am looking forward to the game tonight. Love me some Peyton!!!!
  15. How did I know that was you RG, without even looking?!?!?!? LOL. I am right there with ya - I am SOOOOOO frustrated - RIDICULOUS. DANG. I love me some Mort!!!!!
  16. We are odd, I know. But we go to Ryan's for Thanksgiving. We started it as a family tradition about 3 yrs ago. It was DD's suggestion and DH and I did not argue since we are the ones who do all the cooking. DD and family spend the day with her in-law's family in Wetumpka, AL. They come home late afternoon and we all go to Ryan's. That way DH and I can enjoy the day, watch football, etc and not be exhausted. It is just the four of her family and the three of our family so Thanksgiving has never been a really big deal. My childrens friends think it is strange but it doesn't bother any of us and
  17. (1) Bake yellow cake mix as instructed in 13 x 9 cake pan. Make holes in the cake with toothpick. (2) Mix together well 1 can condensed milk and 1 can cream of coconut. Pour over cake, making sure the mixture drains into the holes. (3) Top with carton of cool whip then top with coconut. (4) Cover and place in refrigerator 2 hrs before serving. (5) ENJOY!!!!! ETA: I think I said "cream of coconut milk" by mistake. I changed it to be just "cream of coconut" - maybe that is it instead of cream of coconut milk. I do find it in the mixed drink section so that makes sense. It w
  18. Yes, that was it. My husband was driving the tan Ford F-150 and was in the intersection to turn left onto Whitlock when the light turned red. The SUV (I was told it was an Expedition pulling a trailer) was going too fast and unable to stop for the red light. It hit him on the passenger side. DH never saw the SUV coming so it came flying up the hill. A witness said his truck spun 3 complete circles. God was with him and we are so Thankful he will be okay. Very sore and having back spasms but overall doing really good considering. THANK YOU ALL for your kind words of encouragement and praye
  19. So heartwarming! I saw this on TV, too, but loved watching it again and again and again. Unconditional love!!!! Thanks for sharing.
  20. Raised in Heflin, AL. Moved here in 1996 from Prattville, AL after DH returned home from working in the Marshall Islands for a year. There was no work in AL and our best friends live in Stone Mountain we had visited a lot and loved the Metro area. DH went to work at Home Depot Expo. We intended to be in Douglas County (to be close to I-20 and easy to get to AL) We read about a house in the Douglas Sentinel and followed the directions up Hwy. 92. We said, "this is tooooo far out but we have come this far, let's go ahead and look at the house." Then we got to the intersection of 278 & 92 and
  21. We are finally home and Doug is going to be okay. He is very, very sore and while at the hospital had severe back spasms. But, they gave him some good drugs through an IV so he is resting now. I am SO THANKFUL for my p.com family, for all the thoughts, prayers and good wishes. It means more than you will ever know. And, I am SO THANKFUL Doug is going to be okay - the next couple of days will be rough but there were no broken bones and he will be okay. Maranda, Wade and I had wonderful friends who were at the hospital to offer support and I knew all of you were praying for him. Of course Doug i
  22. I am on my way to Kennestone. He says he is okay but is shook up and is going to the hospital. Please say a prayer!
