  1. I remember reading about people who collect and sell mistletoe. This article is from 1985 and mentions a way that the author says is better than using a shotgun: Mistletoe Money Cold cash really does grow on trees-but you have to be willing to go out on a limb for it. by Melinda Allan Last December, I earned $525 in just 12 days selling mistletoe here in Eugene, Oregon. And since this popular holiday symbol grows wild in many parts of the country and can usually be gathered for free, chances are you can do at least as well marketing mistletoe in your own community. A better alternative, PETA says, is to ban both the domestic slaughter of horses and the export of horses for slaughter. "PETA was always worried about the horse-slaughter bill, fearing that it might cause more suffering while the option existed to ship horses on a frightening, long, and m

  9. This is posted on the Pet Finders website. The copyright date is 2003 so the numbers may have changed somewhat, but it talks about the history ... Origins of Horsemeat Common in pre-Christian Europe, hippophagia - the consumption of horsemeat - was considered unclean under Mosaic law, and the meat was never consumed in Islamic or Jewish countries. Sacrificed by the Celts and consumed during their pagan ceremonies, the steeds' first crusader was Pope Gregory III who, in 732 AD, exhorted his clergy "to help stamp out this execrable practice." From the Middle Ages onward, horsemeat
  10. Doug Mizell has been working with using kudzu as a source of ethanol for a while. Georgia is one of the states he mentions in the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhYux3QIJgo
  11. This article suggests that everyone could benefit. The author believes kudzu could become a supplemental source of income for many. He also mentions having inmates harvest the kudzu: Kudzu: America's next cash crop? By Hernando Today Published: January 20, 2010 As six ethanol plants sit idle in the United States, I would like to make a proposal that would open these plants, create millions of barrels of biofuel and thousands of private-sector jobs, pump a significant amount of money into our economy and, at the same time, restore millions of acres of dying forests.
