  1. I've been a kidney patient since I was fifteen. Have you heard anything about this research? Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company based in Irving, Texas. Founded in 2002, Reata is currently developing oral anti-inflammatory drugs targeting Nrf2, a master regulator of the antioxidant response in humans. Through its control of the body's production of antioxidants, Nrf2 protects against a broad range of inflammation and oxidative stress related diseases, including renal disease,[1][2][3] cancer,[4] cardiovascular diseases,[5][6] and neurological diseases (eg: multiple s
  2. This info was on the wwww.burzynskimovie.com website: It's unfortunate that fact could motivate some to try to stop something that could benefit so many.
  3. It sounds like you've had a lot of interesting work experiences.
  4. What kind of work did you and your wife do?
  5. Pubby, thanks for starting this thread. I heard about Dr. Burzynski's work several months ago, but it's not just the drug companies and money that anyone trying to research alternative or unconventional treatments comes up again. Some people are VERY NEGATIVE when it comes to anything that isn't conventional and totally accepted by the medical establishment. When I posted on p.com a few months ago about a doctor studying a natural substance to benefit chemo patients there were plenty of posts that came out again the study. In the thread I mentioned a study Dr. Mike Cusnir, an oncologis
  6. Nolan seems sincere. Now Daniel's "friend" from school ... I'm not sure what he's up to.
  7. For a long time after I started using mine I would wake up shaking and feel afraid. I sometimes would take it off and not even remember doing it. Finally, after almost 3 years I do better than I did at first. I have wondered though about the difference between those who say they enjoy wearing their CPAPs and those who don't. I've read that asthma can develop later in life.
  8. Mrs. G, check your email. Everyone who registered is suppose to receive a link to download the recorded webinar after it ends. They say to allow a couple of days to receive it, but sometimes it comes that evening.
  9. Another one of his books that looks interesting is Anxiety free: stop worrying and quieten your mind. Here's a link to it at google books. You can search and find some of his other books there, too: http://books.google.com/books?id=krEj5nJ3QY8C&printsec=frontcover&dq=patrick+mckeown&hl=en&ei=fXqnTsTDNcfXtwfA34Ak&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&sqi=2&ved=0CE8Q6AEwAw#v=onepage&q&f=false
  10. Patrick McKeown presented a lot of interesting information. He's written several books, including the one mentioned on the webinar; Sleep with Buteyko. He has several free videos on his website: http://www.buteykoclinic.com/usa.html
  11. Ann, thanks for your post. Are you familiar with Buteyko breathing? Did you tune in to the webinar this evening? (Dr. Steven Park regularly interviews authorities about different aspects related to sleep apnea.)
  12. I noticed there are many videos online about Buteyko breathing. Here's one about sleep apnea and Buteyko breathing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkhGXVdjxL0
  13. I look forward to seeing what they say during the webinar. Here's an article from the Australian Nursing Journal: http://www.buteyko.info/pdf/OSA_clinical_update.pdf
  14. I'm praying for her. Was she born with normal kidney function?
  15. Netflix lost 800,000 subscribers in the 3rd quarter. Total subscribers fell from 24.6 million at the end of the second quarter to 23.8 million at end of the third. They are expanding to more foreign countries though so I'm not sure how concerned they will be about the loss.
  16. Here is some info I received in an email on a upcoming free webinar on Buteyko Breathing and how it pertains to sleep apnea and asthma. Dr. Park is an authority on sleep apnea. He has free webinars where he interviews experts regularly. Last month it was about an device that is implanted and was compared to a pacemaker. They are doing research on that. Can Buteyko Breathing Help Sleep Apnea? Please join me for my next Expert Interview on October 25th, at 8PM Eastern. This month, I've invited Buteyko breathing instructor Patrick Mckeown to talk to us about how this breathing technique

  18. Bridge Over Troubled Water P. Simon, 1969 When you're weary, feeling small When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all I'm on your side When times get rough And friends just can't be found Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down When you're down and out When you're on the street When evening falls so hard I will comfort you I'll take your part When darkness comes And pain is all around Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down Like a bridge over troubled wat

  20. I was reading a thread in the Religion forum. I noticed on some posts made during August that one mod had given one member a plus on two of his posts. That was interesting as I never thought about the mods using the plus and minus buttons before.
  21. I've only watched two episodes so far. I have a HDMI cable hooked to my TV from my laptop and watch it on Hulu.com/.
  22. The webinar is 60 minutes long and free. If you register you can watch and listen live on October 25 at 8pm. If you're not able to view it at that time you will be sent a link to view it later if you register. I've heard of Buteyko Breathing, but I know just a little about it. Have any of you used it? Here's the link to register: http://doctorstevenpark.com/expert-interview-buteyko-breathing-with-patrick-mckeown
  23. Two members gave dumbestgirlintheworld's post about advertisers and childhood suicide a plus.
  24. I can't believe anyone would make that statement. Your last sentence is in poor taste and insensitive to family and friends who have lost a child to suicide.
