  1. When I took one of my dogs out a little while ago I noticed how much warmer it was compared to yesterday. When I came back inside I got online and saw this. Thanks for sharing. For years I've turned the TV on and watched The Weather Channel. Now I'm thinking about cancelling Comcast and using an antenna and internet connection through a Blu-ray player for what I watch. Does anyone know if I cancel Cable if there is any other way to get The Weather Channel? If I got the very lowest priced Cable does anyone know how much that is and if it includes The Weather Channel? I started payi
  2. If you're looking for ways to share your knowledge and experience with others there are probably more opportunities out there. It sounds like your friends in the area (including p.comers) already benefit. One thing that comes to mind is a blog. Have you thought about writing one?
  3. Yes, I liked the price of the one I mentioned, but I agree it would probably be better to spend more and get a model with more HDMI inputs. I saw a Samsung 46" LED model that's on sale, too. There are so many choices... Can you get The Weather Channel with an antenna?
  4. Thanks for the info. How long does it take to receive an order from the websites you mentioned? I was looking at a Samsung - 40" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV on sale for $497.99. It only has one HDMI input. Some of the reviews mention using a splitter. What would I need to look for in that? If I bought a TV with only one HDMI input what would I need to connect it to both a cable box and a Blu-ray player? I've been thinking about cancelling cable and getting an antenna and using that plus Netflix, etc. What would I need to connect an antenna to an HDTV?
  5. Here's a link to 3 different Kid Concoctions books that they have for less than four dollars each which looks like a good buy: http://www.consumercrafts.com/Store/SearchResults.aspx?sp=concoctions
  6. I have ordered a few things from this website before. I got an e-mail saying they have 30% off "sitewide," and free shipping on ALL orders---no minimum required---for cyber Monday only: http://www.consumercrafts.com/store/default.aspx Also, if you like arts and crafts please join Georgia Crafters and maybe we can get together sometime: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GeorgiaCrafters
  7. What model no. is yours? The one at Best Buy is model 47LD450 and is the one in the current Consumer Reports as $800. There are several LG models with the same size screen.
  8. On their website this is listed as one of this week's specials so the sale price may end today (Saturday). Also, other than an ethernet cable what are the options to connect the Blu-Ray player to the internet to get Netflix, etc.?
  9. I picked up the current issue (December) of Consumer Reports at Sams yesterday. I noticed that they listed this TV as number 6 on a list of nineteen 46 and 47 inch LCD TVs. They also rated it a Consumer Reports Best Buy.
  10. Best Buy has this bundle on sale on line. It is a 47" LG HDTV and a LG internet connectable Blu-Ray player: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?type=category&id=pcmcat226900050020 I did notice that it is 60Hz. How does that compare to the newer 120z, etc.?
  11. It's $154.99 at Amazon.com/ now. Staples has it in their ad this week for a little less than $200. Through November 20 you can get a $50 rebate by trading in an old printer when you buy it.
  12. When is the drawing? Can donations be made online through PayPal? What size and brand is the TV?
  13. I've never eaten there before. What do they have that doesn't contain meat and/or meat broth? Do they have a website with their menu listed?
  14. Thanks Mrs.G ! That location sounds great.
  15. Were you eating at the Hiram location? Where is it located? What part of town, etc?
  16. OK, this looks like another option:PC to Computer Monitor/HDTV Wireless Adapter. I just saw this and haven't read all the details about it. It looks like I could buy a regular HDTV TV and use this to connect a pc wirelessly: What do you think about this? Share your PC content through the versatile Atlona AT-HDAIR PC to Computer Monitor/HDTV Wireless Adapter. The Atlona AT-HDAIR PC to Computer Monitor/HDTV Wireless Adapter transfers the information shown on your Windows-based computer wirelessly to either your HDTV or PC monitor through VGA or HDMI. 17. Thanks for your input! I appreciate all of you taking time to share your experiences. Since the LG TV is wifi ready I was looking for a simple way to connect to the internet to watch You Tube, etc. You can't check email or surf the web like you can if your using it as a monitor with a pc connected, but you can stream movies and other content from Netflix, etc. I found this Wi-Fi USB Adapter. Best Buy has it but it is less at Amazon.com/: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003F9HH2W/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
  18. Here's a link to the website of the Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States. They have a forum listed under Services. Maybe someone there could provide some insight and advice: http://www.sardogsus.org/index.html
  19. I'm shopping for a new TV, probably a 42" or 46". I plan on subscribing to Netflix. I'm thinking about canceling cable as the bill keeps increasing and the service is not very good. I started looking at Blu-Ray players with wifi built-in, but when I looked at reviews I saw some said that they would lose the connection in the middle of a movie, etc. So now I'm looking at wifi ready units. Would it be better to get a TV that is wifi ready or just a regular TV and connect it to a wifi ready Blu-Ray player? Here's one player I saw: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+3D/Internet+Connectable/Wi
  20. I haven't read everything so this may have been covered previously, but have any rescue dogs been brought in to search; for example bloodhounds that might be able to pick up his scent?
  21. I shop online regularly and sometimes use cash back websites like ebates. I plan on buying some larger ticket items before Christmas and was wondering what sites would be the best options to use for this. I just found this website. For example, when I put Best Buy in the search box several options came up with the percentage of cash back offered along with a rating: http://www.cashbackholic.com/index.php
  22. I think that's great! When I was growing up every other Sunday we went to my grandmother's house to eat lunch and other times we ate at home. I don't eat there because I don't eat chicken but I know Chick-fil-A has been successful and they close on Sundays. In another field, Hobby Lobby is a Christian owned business that closes on Sundays. Since I don't eat meat I was glad to see you offer some vegetarian friendly options on your menu. I like rolls too. What type do you serve?
  23. That is interesting. I never would have thought that it was written in 1888.
  24. Have you checked to see what time it was where he was when they were talking? Like some one else said he could have been sleeping and just woke up. Can you use Skype to get in touch with him yourself?
