  1. I went back today and was surprised (and disappointed) to see that a lot of the produce was double the price of last week---and in the case of the potatoes the price was almost triple. Last week a 10 lb. bag of potatoes was 1.19---today they were $3.49. The other items I mentioned before: baby carrots were .99 today, the bag of lettuce that was .99 last week was 1.99 today and the tomatoes that were .99 last week were 1.99 today. I did find 2 lb. bags of Vidalia onions for 1.00.
  2. I went today. I spent about $11 and plan on shopping there regularly for some things. They had l lb. bags of baby carrots for .49. They had bags of spring mix baby lettuce blend for .99. A 24oz. package of on the vine tomatoes was .99. I picked out a package of tomatoes and noticed that some packages had some with spots. An employee (a girl) put out some tomatoes while I was there and she was handling them more like they were golf balls than produce, so that could definetly cause brusing.
  3. I've never used one. Here's a website that has user comments and suggestions for buying one from a store for less money: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf46550099.tip.html
  4. This looks like it might be good. It is coming on tonight at 9:00pm on CBS. Lois Wilson was the co-founder of Al-Anon, a support group for the family members of alcoholics. She was the wife of Alcoholics Anonymous co-founder Bill W. "A 2010 made-for-TV movie based on her life, When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story featuring actress Winona Ryder as Lois Wilson, will premiere on Hallmark Hall of Fame on CBS April 25, 2010."
  5. Here's a link to a few church craft festivals in GA: http://www.ehow.com/list_6318444_church-craft-festivals-georgia.html
  6. Where is it located? What is the address?
  7. Here's a website that has a list of arts and crafts shows in GA: http://www.artscraftsshowbusiness.com/shows.aspx?state=GA Are there any local groups for people that do arts and crafts? I started an e-mail group with the idea of members getting to know one another online and in person: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GeorgiaCrafters I've read online about crafters in other parts of the country that have get-togethers. What about churches that have a craft activities?
  8. I see that now that I look at the ad. It says the first 300 customers Wednesday only will get a free bag of Food Lion products. I also noticed that their address is Douglasville, GA.
  9. How did someone get free groceries? Was that advertised? (I saw in their sales' paper that they were giving away a few gift cards.)
  10. In the photo it looks like there was a really large number of people waiting in line. Did it take long to check out? Do they have any unadvertised specials?
  11. I found this info. Go to the website for the rest of the article and live links: "This article was written by Mike Panic and is about: TV, Websites, Streaming Video Paying for cable seems so 2008, doesn’t it? Check out this complete list of sites to legally stream full TV shows and movies from, for free! Most sites will require either the newest version of Flash or the new Silverlight technology to run them, so if prompted, install those plug-ins. From my experience, most work great in Firefox on Windows and Mac. Broadcast Networks •ABC •CBS •NBC •Fox •The CW •SEC game
  12. What would you change if you had no debts? (I'm not trying to get personal, I just wondered if you would buy some different equipment---or would you go back to a regular service, like cable, etc.?) How do use your internet connection currently to watch TV?
  13. Are there any websites that cover the different options involved in using the internet to watch TV shows, etc.---on a TV set? We have 2 TVs that I want to be able to watch different shows on for this. I understand that a Blu Ray player can be used. I've looked at some online but haven't bought one yet. I also understand that a NetFlex subscription is helpful, too. What have your experiences been? (I'm not naturally technical and wonder how complicated or simple it can be?)
  14. I bought a new alarm clock a few months ago, and it automatically updates the time change. It was only about $10.
  15. The check I received was a "rewards" check to be used on a future purchase at Staples---not cashed like a regular check.
  16. Yes, I've turned in ink cartridges a couple of times. There is a limit to how many you can turn in and get credit for per day and per month. Other office supply stores accept cartridges for recycling also, but some have more conditions for receiving credit. (Read the fine print. LOL) Staples seems to have the best terms for me. An employee at another office supply chain told me that there was no limit to the number of cartridges you can turn in for recycling but you will receive credit for only X number per day, per quarter. Also, at that store you only receive credit if you have an equal amou
  17. I found the answer on the HP website: "Will printing in draft mode help me save money on ink? Yes. You can extend the lifespan of your ink cartridges by adjusting the Print quality setting, which lets you select the print speed and the amount of ink used when printing. When you’re ready to print, open the Printer Properties or Print dialog box, and select one of the following Print quality settings to match your needs: •Fast draft. This setting uses the least amount of ink and prints at the fastest speed. Use it for quick printing and simple black-and-white documents that don’
  18. I just changed the setting on mine. It scared me when it started printing. LOL I wasn't prepared for the different noise that it made. Why does it use so much less ink?
  19. I have an Hp All-In-One (different model than yours.) I've gotten cartridges refilled at Walgreens before---and sometimes they have sales. Lately I've been getting 2 re-manufactured ones on eBay for less than $10 postpaid, but they don't offer all types.
  20. Here's a website with a photo of a beautiful peony made with Cold Porcelain clay. Below the short article is a link to a You Tube video that shows how to make the clay using a microwave: http://www.examiner.com/x-31931-Seattle-Mixed-Media-Examiner~y2010m2d10-Making-Cold-Porcelain-in-the-Microwave
  21. I was wondering if any of you have ever used Cold Porcelain. It is a type of "clay" that you can make yourself. After you shape it it air dries. There are some videos online that show recipes and beautiful flowers that have been made with it. The recipes all call for cornstarch and white glue plus various other ingredients. One reason I'm writing is to try to find out which recipe works best as there are many variations.
  22. I got this tip in an email. It looks interesting. Have any of you done this? http://www.geeks.com/techtips/2010/how-to-turn-a-netbook-into-a-full-page-eReader.htm How To Turn A Netbook Into A Full Page eReader by Staff Writer - February 21, 2010 So, you have a netbook that you find handy for different computing tasks. Well, with a little effort, you may find it easy to use a netbook as a full page eReader. That’s right, full page - not just a section of a graphic novel on the screen at a time. Plus, being able to view material in full color is something that dedicated eReade
  23. I know some places offer support groups for stress related issues where people can meet and talk. Does Paulding County have any?
