According to the Bible humans didn't eat meat in the beginning. Only after the flood did God give people permission to eat animals. I like the idea of the way things were described in the garden of Eden.

His voice and his very life survived in spite of cocaine and other drugs: Williams' life began spiraling in 1996 when he began drinking alcohol "pretty bad." He used marijuana and cocaine and lost interest in his radio career. Williams said his last job was with a station in Columbus. He eventually wound up on the streets, despite the best efforts of his children -- seven daughters and two sons who all live in the Columbus area. "They have mixed emotions about what is going on," Williams said. "During my detox stages, I had a tendency to eat up everybody's food. I'm a grandfather, too,

Squirrel Proof Tube Bird Feeder: Anyone Use One?
ButterflyLion replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Not everyone has a hunter's heart; humans or dogs. I did use a water pistol on some a few times when I used to live in Douglasville. But now I'm looking at alternatives like the squirrel proof feeders or maybe a squirrel barrier or something. -

The Publix ad that starts today has a new promotion advertised. Publix gift certificates are listed among the prizes offered. At the bottom the fine print says: "Sponsor: Frito Lay, Inc." I'm not going to mention anymore of the details because I think if anyone is interested they can find them on their on (for example: the Publix ad). I also don't plan on posting anymore of the Publix prize promotions when I see them. Some posters got the impression that I was asking where Publix gets the money to offer such promotions, but that was not my intent. It was more like: why don't other groc -

Thanks. I'm wondering if these or the other brand are made in the USA or are imported? -

I saw this review from Amazon.com that says that the motor and battery charger only have a 1 year warranty. Can the squirrels eat the seeds if the motor isn't working? Amazon.com Review This Yankee Flipper squirrel-proof feeder is the ultimate feeder for keeping your feathered friends fed, and the furred fiends hungry. Let's talk about the basics first. The sturdy polycarbonate feeding chamber is a whopping 4-3/4 inches in diameter and 21 inches long, giving you a break between refills--and ensuring that squirrels can't hang down from the top to reach seed. The four feeding chambers are e -
So what are the colors we should choose from? Does it include all of the ones listed at the bottom? (Will green be a future option?)

Created by the Harvard School of Public Health and MENTOR, National Mentoring Month (NMM) celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2011. By focusing national attention on the need for mentors, as well as how each of us—individuals, businesses, government agencies, schools, faith communities and nonprofits—can work together to increase the number of mentors, we assure brighter futures for our young people. As in years past, the Harvard School of Public Health is working with the national media to heighten awareness of mentoring and prompt individuals to volunteer to mentor. At the same time, MEN

I would like to see more companies stop adding salt to their products and let the consumer add it if they wish. I bought a can of vegetarian organic cream of mushroom soup to use in a pasta recipe. Half of the 14.5 oz. can has 660mg of sodium, because they added salt. -

Someone told me that Publix has an outstanding team that works to bring in these sponsors for these promotions. Often a sponsor like Pepsi will sponsor a promotion giving a way---not Pepsi products---but Publix gift cards. -

I buy the products I buy based on multiple factors: quality of ingredients, taste, price, etc. If the product I buy has a box top for education that is a bonus---it is not the reason I buy it. Do you agree that the "Return To School With Box Tops," sponsored by General Mills and advertised in the Publix ad is a promotion and not a gimmick? -

Just today I noticed a banner ad here on p.com at the top of the page for a contest that offered a $75,000 Technology Makeover prize. While some might view this as a "gimmick" I think it created a win-win situation. The company's advertising dollars were multiplied by offering a prize. This is the same way I view the Publix promotions. There is no charge for entering either one. In the current Box Tops promotion there are 4 grand prizes of 100,000 each ($10,000 value) plus smaller prizes. The promotion can be entered online for free---nothing to buy. There is a limit of one entry per household -

I sent you a personal message on Sunday (01-02-11). I never received a reply. Postman, do you just deliver the mail, or do you also read what is addressed to you? -
Thanks for your input. I'm always looking for ways to benefit and encourage children. When my nieces (age 7 and 9) began selling $20 bracelets and such I knew that the school was only getting a percentage from the sales and I began to think about a better alternative. Several years ago (before I moved to GA) I was more active in different groups and volunteer work, etc. I have some current health conditions that limit the amount of energy I have now. However, I'm looking for opportunites that will work with what I have. I used to work some for magazines---writing on freelance basis; wh

I was thinking about what LPPT said last night in another thread I started. She said that she would rather write a check directly to the school than buy something the children are selling (gift wrapping paper was the example she gave) I've never liked these programs much either. A lot of the items for sale are priced higher than you can get a similar item for else where and many aren't something I really need anyway. Also, the school only gets a percentage of the amount collected and the other goes to the fundrasing company. I was thinking about a whole different approach where the kids w
