Is It Appropriate To Wear Any Type Of Clothing To Church?
ButterflyLion replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Some people might think differently and the Bible mentions that certain ways of dressing can be associated with certain behavior. And this is just an example. I'm not trying to imply that the woman was dressing like a postitute: Proverbs 7 (New International Version, ©2010) 7 I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who had no sense... 10 Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent. -
Is It Appropriate To Wear Any Type Of Clothing To Church?

When I was growing up girls and women always wore dresses or skirts and blouses to church and school. Girls weren't allowed to wear any type of pants to school until I was in high school. I only wore dresses to church for a long time. I still wear dresses to church sometimes, but I've visited some churches during the last couple of years where I was the only woman there that Sunday wearing a dress. I have worn pants to church before; maybe cotton capris in summer or wool pants when when it was cold. -

Are schools judging students if they have certain clothing codes? I'm not saying churches should or shouldn't have certain standards of dress, but students come to school to learn and certain types of clothing can distract them from that purpose. I think if a male; for example a teenage boy or young man had been in my seat instead of me the day I was there he may have been even more distracted than I was---from what people are supposed to be in church for. -

Thanks. I missed that thread. Does anyone have the link? -
While visiting a local church back during the summer I was seated behind a couple. The woman appeared to be in her mid to late 30s. They had two young girls with them. The woman's clothing just barely----and I mean literally just barely covered her private parts. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone wearing shorts that were any shorter---anywhere. It was hard not to notice since she was right in front of me. Also, she would regularly bend over to one of the little girls. So I was wondering what all of you think? This was not the first time I had been to this church, and I had seen this co

I am praying for your friend. Here is a Bible verse that has helped me before: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 (King James Version)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm just not sure about making changes since I only get the message here and only part of the time. Like now I got on OK; no message, etc. I'm no pc guru so I don't want to do ABC and then have XYZ happen at some later time; like 1:00am when none of you are available. I'm going to the grocery store now---for the first time in over a week. My driveway has stayed icy for a long time because some areas were shaded by trees...

I got this message when I tried to access paulding.com/ this morning. I've gotten it several times lately but not all the time or at other websites: Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer A malfunctioning or malicious add-on has caused Internet Explorer to close this webpage. I typed in Arbor Place Mall in the search box and changed the default to "show all," but it seems to show something different that what you describe. It does show 87 incidents during the default period of 14 days. For some reason the way the map is set up a lot of thefts are shown happening on Douglas Blvd...

I see the plus and minus buttons, but I never use them. Is that what you're referring to? Edited to add: Someone gave me a minus for just asking a question about the plus or minus buttons? OK...

Donate Any Vehicle To Benefit Animals: ASPCA
ButterflyLion replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Sgtstinky, this is from the first link you posted. The ASPCA is just one of many animal groups listed: Anti-Hunter/Animal Rightist Political Action Committees (PACs) One of the most effective methods the anti's have to promote their legislative initiatives against hunting, breeding, entertainment, meat eating, or any other use of animals is through their political action committees (PACs), of which the largest and most visible at the federal level is Humane USA Political Action Committee. Its members include The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), The Fund for Animals (FFA), F -

They are stilling working on behalf of innocent animals who are suffering. On their website, www.aspca.org/ you can read about their work; including this animal cruelty case that involved dog fighting here in Georgia that an ASPCA team worked on: Two Men Sentenced After Georgia Dog Fighting Raid Almost a year ago, members of the ASPCA Field Investigations and Response (FIR) Team traveled to Sandersville, Georgia, to assist the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in rescuing 26 abused and neglected Pit Bulls from an underground dog fighting operation. We are happy to report that the cour -
I saw this and thought someone might be interested. You get a "tax benefit" and support the ASPCA. (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was founded in 1866.) You can donate "any vechicle, in any condition, from anywhere." I know some charities only accept vechicles that are a certain year or newer. For more information contact Nada Polanco at nadap@aspca.org or by calling (212) 876-7700, ext. 4502.

That's why I said that drugs are one reason...

Reading this thread made me think about what I hate. I wouldn't say that I hate any store just because of its location whether it's in a mall, certain town, or whatever. But that's just my thoughts. I do feel strongly about drugs that people misuse (vs. medication that may have value). And drugs are a major part of the problem and one reason why there's been such an increase in crime.

What's the best way to check out a new area when looking to move? If I decide to move out of state what should I ask someone in law enforcement if I called? I used to live in Douglasville and always felt ok when shopping there at the mall or elsewhere. Mostly I was there through the week and in the daytime though. When we lived outside of Memphis, well...

When I joined in December 2006 she already had a following. I wasn't here when she joined and wondered what attracted her supporters. Anyone have any ideas? -

It was a learning experience. I remember how shocked I was at the angry responses I got when I posted this poem by Emily Dickinson which has always been a favorite of mine: If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; If I can ease one life the aching, Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin Unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain. I still had a lot of ice today in front of my garage door and driveway where it is shaded. I'm ready for spring.

Postman, I haven't seen the movie. I haven't noticed you on p.com in a while. Have you been ok? (I sent you a pm a few days ago; after you posted the poem your sister had sent you.)
