yes. I was smart enough to start saving at a very young age. I should be able to retire in my mid-60s in this economy, not dependent on any funds coming from the gov't If I can get those funds or the economy improves my target is 20 years from now - or 56 years old.

Guess it all depends on what "old" is. He-Man Inspector Gadget GI Joe Transformers Scooby-Doo Flintstones Batman (pretty much all of them) TMNT - If you don't know don't ask The Lone Ranger and Zorro Hour ...and the Avengers one, but it wasn't called Avengers it was Super Friends or something like that. Most are on TV or on DVD, I actually have almost all the Transformers on DVD...I'm such a dork.

Autism...what I need to know, and who can tell me?

ahhh no worries. I prefer real conversation rather then sticking to the topic anyway. -
They are in business to make money right? They aren't a charity? If they keep employees that are no longer needed just because they can afford to isn't that the same as wealth redistribution?

Unfortunatlly there aren't a lot of options in Bowling Green for this type of thing. My wife is actually going to take him to Michigan for a while and stay with her sister (not because of this, her sister is due any day now and she is going to help out) so I'm sure our son being around the "gifted" one will help. -
...because their jobs are no longer needed. When Target hires 50 holiday temp workers per store they also see an increase in profits, when the holidays end thos jobs are no longer need so they are let go. I find it funny that it's the folks that cry free market this and "wealth envy" that who are questioning a companies right to determine the number of workers it needs.

How did you know ....although I think my wife might take pride in that? -
If you take a temp job you know there is a point that job will end. We hire temp help all the time. They know going into it the job is only going to be there for X amount of weeks or months. This is really no indication of the economy one way or another.

Thanks again everyone. Just to clarify a few things... At this doctors advice we took him to the state run program to be tested. Hearing was fine, and they said while his speech is delayed there is not much to worry about right now. Pubby - its funny you mention the "beans and cookie" test. They did something similar but with Lucky Charms. He had to pick up the marshmellows - no issues there. He has always been pretty social, not as much as some kids, but he loves playing with his cousins, his aunts and uncles and of course us. eye contact, hugs, request to sit on our laps a -
Tell this to a retailer. Can't wait to see (well really I can) what the year end annual reports say next month.

Don't mean to mis-lead. He was offically tested for "developmental issues". Not sure if that is different but our Dr. kept saying Autism so I assumed it was the same thing. I have a nephew that does have Autism, he is 7 and it is obvious. My sister has even told me that my son acts and shows no real signs....he just isn't ready to talk and prefers more "active" play like running, "playing Basketball" climbing. playing catch etc. The other day I gave him a dry erase marker and a white board and asked him to "Draw". He took the marker, scribbled for a bout 20 seconds, handed it back to -

We called...because he was already found to be "fine" they will not cover it at this time. If he continues to have issus, 6 months from now, they will cover it but as he has already passed the "test" and found to be ineligable for the program they don't cover private ones. I'm sure all insurance is different but that's how mine does it. -
I know this will open a BIG can of worms but I am so pissed off right now I have to vent somewhere. My kid just turned 21 months old and our dear doctor sent him to be tested for Autism becuase he only says 5 words and at the time of his appointment (which he was sick with a stomach virus) was in a bad mood and didn't want to play toy cars with the Dr. and started throwing a fit because he had to get undressed in a VERY cold office. Some backround... He has hit all his big stages right on time. Not early. Not late. The kid does it right at the deadline. Sitting up, rolling over, cr

Thank your employer. I also have BCBS but my co-pay would be 1000 plus 3% of the charges.

Yeah, because under all the other Presidents healthcare was so affordable.

Is this Bob Nardelli's former house? I thought that douce bag had the most valuable house in Atl? He tore down 4 others to build his if I recall...(its not but if you ever worked at Home Depot's HQ you get the joke) I find the exerior 100% awesome. I like a lot of the interior, but I have never been a fan of kitchens where all the colors are so similar with no contrast (former kitchen designer coming out in me)I would love to tour a place like this, own one? Nah, not even if I won that 300 million dollar lotto.

December 2006 Wife and I lived in some apartments in Atlanta near Rays on the River and were in the process of buying our house in PC. Needed to know what kind of codes/perments I needed to install a fence. Since we have meet some great folks on this board, adobted a dog from a member, moved away to Ky for my job, had our son, lost that dog to an illness, and I have a new job. I stay on the board because it feels more real then the mass boards I'm a part of, no matter if that is good or bad I'm not sure. Looking back it's hard to believe it has been that long and how much has c

Ever go camping and drink from a stream. There's dead stuff in there too. Just saying.

Just north of Detroit in the Rochester Hills or Troy area. It's home. It's where my closest friends and 90% of my family reside. It has it's downsides but being close to them would easily make up for all of them.

I'd hit it and quit it. ....but seriously why do I give two cheezes about her? -
I still can't understand why the coupon thing backfired on them. Do ALL department stores issue coupons? I don't recall ever getting a coupon from them before (not that I shopped there that ofte) or getting one from Macy's or Dillards.

Yeah, talk about the media using the shock factor for ratings. At WORST it is used for the fire sprinkler system.
