HOW TO GET A BAT OUT OF THE HOUSE?
retiredteacher replied to Taylor's P.A.L.S.'s topic in RECENT TOPICS
I had bats in my apt in Augusta. One flew into the kitchen and landed on my lacy curtains. I knocked him down with the string mop and he clung to it. Bat and mop went outside! -
Putting the lid on the pot or pan will make it come to a boil faster. Said it before I could! All that being said, I prefer an electric oven and a gas cooktop. The electric oven seems to bake things more evenly.

There is a Winn dixie in Americus, GA. They closed the WDs because of financial problems. The company also owned the Save Rite name and they tried the discount route but, I guess that didn't help their financial state. I just checked and there are quite a few in south and west GA.

LPPT, did you see his whole head or just the top? Maybe he did a "high and tight" and will wear the top in a ponytail!

Be sure to take the bowl with the mold to the vet. Maybe they can test it...

We happened upon an interesting landmark on our trip to Ohio...

It was struck by lightning and burned. Made of wood and styrofoam over a metal form. Only the metal is there now. -
I know we have done this before but who was

The first one I met was TBAR! I miss him, too. -
I used Elite roofing and they did a great job. You can come see my roof if you'd like.

Sorry I didn't see this before but they are doing great! Nemie posted today BTW. She and Steve have their little dogs with them now and are so happy! If you call just to computers (not landlines) there is no money involved. You don't give Skype any personal info.

Article in AJC says that CC has about 130 spec ed positions to fill on their site. I didn't count them but there are a lot - all over the county and all levels.

SIL at hospital with blood clot in his leg.......
retiredteacher replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My 91 yo mother is recovering from a blood clot in her leg. Dr. John Jones was the surgeon and was great. He got in there quickly and saved her leg. It has been a month and she's doing great. Prayers for your SIL! -
Is it an abcess or an ulcer? It sounded like an ulcer to me. White sore in the mouth? Hurts when anything acid or salty hits it? Plain old listerine a couple of times a day is what my kids use for ulcers.

I've used the upshot with no problems. It's a little off-white to match a yellowed ceiling. Used it in the DR and downstairs bath and no one can tell it unless I point it out.

I just noticed something about the new p.com
retiredteacher replied to 3683's topic in RECENT TOPICS
He meant that they can't delete the copy in your post. -
Thank you. I think they're the best!

I was out of town until today. Did you give my babies' prizes away?

Not all of a sudden either. Do any of you remember the cops giving ticket in front of the Kroger at Crossroads a few years back? Getting into the turning lane too soon was the thing that would get you a ticket.

I just had the emissions check for my car tag and went to a new place. The place is on E. Memorial between Caroline's Florist and the Methodist Church. The name is Home town motors and emissions are $17. Danny was super nice and I told him about P.com so he may come check us out! If you need your emissions done, I recommend him!

I'm a good blend of a Yankee daddy and a Southern mama! My Dad was from upstate NY and I had cousins there. It was different for a girl, although I remember standing on the dock and pointing across the lake. "Look over yonder," astounded my cousin! What's a yonder? To me it was a perfectly normal word. I have found, while doing my family's geneaology, that most of my dug-in southern relatives originated in the northern reaches of our country! Bet most of you would find that, too.

That explains perfectly why I love living here! Thanks for your words!

Me, too. We need to start now helping the teachers who remain. They will need all kinds of help with larger classes...

KR, I'll share my Johnny-jump-ups. They came from my Mom's best friend in Augusta. She was a sweet, sweet lady who shared her plants with everyone, too. If you've had them you know they'll re-seed everywhere. Let me know and I'll get some to you!
