I have no problem with more strict enforcement of existing laws. However, enforcement isn't the problem either. The problem is with the courts and prosecution. The police can strictly enforce gun laws, however, if the courts slap the perpetrators on the wrist and let them go, the problem will remain. The biggest problem is with the lenient judges and defense lawyers that get these criminals out with a bare minimum sentence, just to go out and commit another crime. But as long as the judges keep allowing the criminals to abuse the system, the left is going to keep trying

True, but most all of the Marine's I've ever met are among the most determined, strong, reliable, and loyal people I have ever met. "Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome." If I were hiring, if it came down to a job between two people, one with a little experience vs. a Marine with none, the Marine will will get the job. Why? Because I would be very comfortable knowing that they would have the drive to learn the skill quickly, be a loyal and reliable employee, and be the last to let me down.

#1. You can't create energy. All you can do is change it's form. #2. An alternator requires a coil to be energized (DC) and it uses torque from the engine (or in the case you propose, from the wheels) to create alternating current, which is changed back in to DC by the regulator/rectifier. Attaching an alternator to the wheels is going to put more of a load on the "motor' source, which will in turn use more energy. Nothing gained, more energy lost. #3. There is no such thing as producing MORE energy than what you started with nor is there any such way to even produce as m

I see you STILL can't read or comprehend English. I said, "Where did ANYONE complain about how unfair things are or who said Pubby didn't have a clue?" So, to address this post of yours, where did I say that you were talking about me? I said nothing about me in the first post or this one. Learn to read.
-
LOL! Pot, meet Kettle. Post above applies to you too, apparently. BTW, where did anyone complain about how unfair things are or who said Pubby didn't have a clue? If you could read and comprehend English, you'd have seen that Pubby was called out for reporting GOSSIP when he alway preaches to others about not doing such things. Wow, yet another complete babble that has nothing to do with the discussion at hand.
-
So, what's your point? Pubby is always on here telling people to validate what they report and don't spread gossip and the first post in this thread is him doing exactly that. Why shouldn't he be called on it? As far as closing the thread, why does it need to be closed? Are you one of those people who whine and complain about something that they don't have to click on? But you click on it anyways and then complain about the contents of it? If you don't want to read the ensuing discussions on whatever level, simply don't click on the thread link and you don't have to worry a

Actually, no they don't. For a so called "journalist," you fail to get your facts straight A LOT. You didn't even come close to getting any of the facts right in the first report of the incident and you're the one who preaches about making sure you're facts are straight before posting. Per the Marshal's page on the official Paulding County website: "Primarily, the Marshal Bureau enforces state criminal laws and local county ordinances." Nowhere in their missions statement says anything about patroling Hiram. As a matter of fact, for things that happen in Hiram, they defer to H

WHAT? The PRIMARY duty of ANY Law Enforcement officer is protect the citizens of their jurisdiction. Just because he is a Marshal and does the county code enforcement doesn't mean he puts off his duty to protect the citizens of this county. He is a sworn officer and maintains the exact same certification standards of a "police officer." And just an FYI, the Paulding Marshal's office is chartered as a "police" agency. The Marshal that was involved is a great guy and takes great pride in his duty and I'm glad we have individuals like him doing the job he does.

Bullcrap! A cop has EVERY right to beat the every lovin' hell out of anyone who is actively assaulting him or another person. If lethal force is not warranted, a police officer has every right to beat you senseless until you stop resisting. In this case, solely from what portion of the video we see, the cops are definitely out of line and should be punished accordingly. However, as always on this forum, people are making judgments when they don't have all the facts. There is a time and place for both the police officers conduct as well as the suspects conduct to be scrutinized and jud

ActiveX is a way for programs to manipulate your desktop and change settings on the fly, as the program needs. Basically, if a program needs to run in a certain color depth, resolution, or have certain things changed or controlled, activeX is a way to do that. Technically, no you don't "need" activeX installed, but that may limit you on running of certain programs (mostly internet based). ActiveX controls on web pages can be hidden and definitely used to propagate viruses, but it's not something I'd turn off all together. Like Java and Flash, ActiveX is very useful, but can be used

Wow. Guess she thinks they are some kind of secret service coded messages? They are "Codes" because it cuts down on radio traffic from speaking out what the code stand for. If an officer said, "<callsign> to Paulding, I'm pulling over a vehicle for a traffic stop" vs. "<call sign> to Paulding, 10-64" then the amount of radio time would increase drastically and officers would be waiting inline to talk, constantly. Even with the 10 codes, they sometimes get overwhelmed with radio traffic. The codes aren't there to keep people from knowing what's going on.

Java is a programming language. People write programs or "applets" in Java. Websites use Java to do multimedia. For Java to work, you have to have what is called a "Run time" package, which is the platform on which a Java program will run. If your getting messages and/or it's not working, you just need to install the Java Run Time Enviroment (JRE). You can do this by going to www.java.com and clicking on the big red "Free Java Download" button on the main page. That will download and start the install process for the run time environment. You'll have to click "next" a couple o

Which again, shows our government is telling us, it's ok... we don't have personal responsibility, we'll take care of you. I understand what you said and I understand that is what would probably happen, but it's total bull. A last minute stay because I didn't want an appeal or was too stupid to appeal is not anyone's problem but myself. If I failed to ask for it... my tough crap. And now I can just hear the next argument. What about people who don't know the law or know they have a right to an appeal? Well, if I don't know something is against the law and I break the law, I get

It depends on the system. System boards can be a few hundred dollars up to a thousand dollars. Especially laptops where almost everything is built on. Unlike desktops, laptop system boards are proprietary in most all cases. Therefore, the manufacturer has you over a barrel knowing you either have to buy their expensive board or a completely new unit. They make a LOT of money on replacement parts that are out of warranty and the replacement parts are almost always refurbs, so the manufacturers cost is minimal... yours is not. As stated already, it would be a good idea to cal
-
I simply don't understand the automatic appeal. If I commit a crime worthy of the death penalty and I am convicted of it, WHY should an appeal be automatic? Shouldn't it be up to the convicted as to whether or not an appeal gets filed? Should they be informed they have a right to appeal? Absolutely. Should it be automatically done? Hell no! I realize that, with most all of them, they will want that small chance to escape death, but make them at least ask or work for it... sheesh... This, just like everything else, we give the criminals more protection of rights than t

Most "name brand" manufacturers don't use 'standardized' system board layouts, like the clone (build it yourself) computers do. Name brand machines are generally very unfriendly to major upgrades. In clone boxes, you can more easily upgrade the components and not have to buy a new case & power supply. However, it the more recent years, you can buy a brand new name brand computer cheaper than you can upgrade (if you are looking for a full upgrade). If you just want more memory, it would be cheaper. But on a 6 year old computer, it would be cheaper and better for you to just buy a

Is It Appropriate To Wear Any Type Of Clothing To Church?
Nitro replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'll ride the middle of the fence on this one. When I attend church, I dress as best that I can. I believe others should dress as best that they can, to show respect. As far as me judging and/or having the right to judge people? As far as you people who are quoting scripture and saying 'thou shall not judge,' etc... You're just showing your ignorance of the Bible. When speaking of judging others, the Bible is referring to you judging their acceptance of God/Jesus and in your mind condemning them to hell or assuring them a place in Heaven. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with judg -
Really? If you're going to be that damn picky about it, then NOTHING mentioned applies. Go to Russia and ask for a Kleenex or a Q-tip and see what they say. There's a damn good likelihood that they won't have a clue as to what you're talking about. I don't think the OP said anything about a product being region specific or not. The fact is, MANY people call any type of soda/pop a Coke. Therefore it most definitely applies. Just because you leave one region and it doesn't get the same respect doesn't make it a fallacy. Oh, BTW, if you go in to a restaurant here and ask for

Ok... This has to be taking texting to the extreme!
Nitro replied to nschur's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't understand people and cell phones. I see them leave their house and before they are out of the driveway or sub-division, they are already on their phone. What in the hell is so damn important that it can't wait? People in restaurants talking on their cell phones... and they MUST talk so loud that EVERYONE can hear them. When I'm talking on the phone, I don't want anyone to hear my conversation. People are flat out rude and have no respect for other people, be it a cell phone or anything else. -
Slight correction. They don't tag your luggage that it has a firearm inside. You sign a declaration paper that you are carrying a firearm. That signed slip is put IN TO the luggage, not tagged with it. They don't make you put anything on the outside that says there is a firearm inside. That would just be inviting a baggage handler to dig in... I do the same thing as your husband... I take my gun(s) on the airplanes all the time. The only exception is I usually break mine out and carry with me once I reach my rental vehicle. It's really simple, follow the rules and use common s

Well no damn duh, that "most burglaries" happen when people aren't at home. By definition, a burglary is what happens when you are not at home. Let's talk about "Robberies," which by definition, means, while in the immediate presence of the property owner. You have some information that is so far beyond crap. Your analogy of the old west. If it were MORE like the old west, it would be nice and peaceful. Contrary to popular belief, the majority of people who carried guns were cowboys that rode the trail. People in town rarely carried, because it was against the law and

Global Warming Scientists Rethink How to Frame Their Argument
Nitro replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Maybe you should RE-READ and comprehend what was said about volcanoes and their CO2 emissions. It was said that ERUPTING volcanoes emit more CO2 emissions and harmful products in to the air than humans ever will. Nobody said anything about the normal gassing of volcanoes. But it was a nice try to try to prove a point that you didn't have... I'm all for cleaning up the environment. Yes, smog and other nasty crap hovering in the air... and we're breathing it. I'm all for breathing cleaner air. But the global warming effect has nothing to do with humans... it's an evolution of n -
Global Warming Scientists Rethink How to Frame Their Argument
Nitro replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
That's what the ranger was telling us. There have actually been two or three mini ice-ages, with about 70 year spans between them... I can't remember exactly, but I think he said the 1500's, the mid 1700's and then in again in the 1800's. All had a warming period in between. He also pointed out that one large volcanic eruption, like St. Helen's, the several in and around Alaska, and other parts of the world, produce more carbon emissions that man could ever produce. He was a very knowledgeable ranger and didn't subscribe to the government global warming junk. He had facts about it -
Those drug commercials on TV crack me up! "Our drug will stop the migraines, but in some cases, you might experience chronic diarrhea, arterial hemorrhaging, blindness, severe risk of heart attack, and even death..." but you won't have a headache!!!

Global Warming Scientists Rethink How to Frame Their Argument
Nitro replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Actually, global warming does exist, but no where near the extent that it's made out to be. While in Alaska recently, a national park ranger gave us some information on global warming, while we were out watching the glaciers caving. He said that we are coming out of a mini ice age and have been doing so, since the 1800's. Obviously, nothing like the BIG ice age that everyone hears about, but none the less, an ice age. The earth has been constantly rising in temperature as it comes out of this mini-ice age. He told us that it's a completely normal and natural cycle that we are i
