  1. Technecally 2. is illegal. You do not enter the intersection (cross the balk line) unless you are immediately able to clear the intersection. Hey, I know that sometimes that is the only way you will be able to make that left. I did not write the law nor did I design the intersection. But you will find me stopping / slowing to let people turn left in front of me when possible. Which by the way, for those that are following me, does not mean it is ok for you to pass me on the right shoulder. That is also illegal.
  2. Smokers who think the world is their ashtray. (not so much the ashes as the butts) If you smoke use your ashtray, if you do not have one, get a tin can and keep it in your vehicle. If you are in public deposit it into the appropriate container not on the ground.
  3. You know, now that I think about it, he could even keep it and rent it out and buy another home. If the rental goes south he loses nothing, if he is able to maintain it, someone else is financing the loss for him.
  4. After doing a little research on this topic, I came across a different twist on this one. The poster asked for some input but there was not a final resolution given. You have a home, a job and the basic requirements of life. A few years ago you filed Ch. 7 bankruptcy. Your home and 2nd were not reaffirmed. That means there is no official obligation for you to contine paying them. But so long as you do you stay current you will eventually pay them off per the original contract. So after filing Ch. 7 these will now only show up as "included in bankruptcy" on your credit history. You do not g
  5. If they really want to move, job, school or whatever and they want to rent thier old home out to cover mortgage payments while they buy another rather than lose the money it makes sense. Here is an article on it. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB126100260600594531.html#articleTabs_comments
  6. I think it is more of a matter of comparisons. let's say that you bought a home for $250,000 with a loan value of 95% 4 years ago. the rate is irrelevant to this discussion. Now it is worth $125,000. So you financed $237,500 and have a home worth $125,000. that leaves you $112,500 underwater. That is not the banks fault though. You did choose to buy that house at that price. But the banks did choose to make a bunch of other high risk loans that should not have been made. The end result is that those loans defaulted and the resulting glut of homes on the market at very discounted rates has ki
  7. That man has taste!! :drinks: But then again she is a chain smoker and I could never abide by that no matter how good she looks.
  8. I find all sorts of women attractive. Men definately will follow a pattern as to what they like and order of preferences. I dated mostly blondes and 1 true red head. I married the first brunette that I had a serious relationship with. I like my women to be athleticly built not model thin or too heavy. One of the first things I will notice is the eyes, bust size will be second provided I am able to see both at the same time, say with a photo. When I first see a woman from a distance, I can not help but notice shape before color. I also value inteligence very highly. My wife is now heavier than

You assume that I walk around packing. That assumption is wrong. To be quite blunt about it, even while an active LEO, I seldom carried off duty. There is just no good way to carry concealed in the summer time and if you are going to carry it better be a everyday thing or you will soon find yourself in a bad position when you suddenly realize "oh crap!! I'm in my shorts and polo today and no gun". My views are right their with yours on the part where I keep an eye on my surroundings. I do not put myself into situations that I can not extricate myself out of in a hurry and safely. But unlike yo

Are you equating them as equal? Your post says no but your arguement says yes. Quite simply put SELF DEFENSE IS NOT VIGILANTISM. I have already given you the meanings and examples. Your willingness to let the bad guys do as they will towards you is your choice to make and I am fine with that so long as you do not try to limit the rest of us to taking the same faulty stance as you do. I would find it very helpful should folks that feel as you do, or vice versa, put a tag that identifies their stance to all. That way the carjackers would know who to car jack safely and who not to (for their own

mrnn look up vigilantism. It is not a legal right. Self defense is. I have no legal right to practice vigilantism. It IS self dense whether you agree with it or not. The aspect that you are not grasping here is that, when in court there is no imminent danger thus the use of deadly force is not allowed. Fine, I get that. they will be charged and convicted, in this case, under the car jacking statute. Here is the part that eludes you. While in the field with a dynamically ever evolving situation you do not have the luxury of have guards, chains, cells and multiple other safety proceedures to prot

Your grasp of the law is lacking. I already told you, vigilantism is not legal. Self Defense (and it should be noted here, can include any implement, weapon or one's own body parts, used to defend themselves up t the level and including deadly force) is legal. If I took my pocket knife (something that I call a tool) and slashed the carjacker's jugular or carotid, he would be just as dead as if I shot him. This is not an issue about carrying guns, it is an issue over defending one's self from well meaning THUGS of any color. I am far from stupid, I also am not playing stupid. I have a major

Vigilante : a member of a volunteer committee organized to suppress and punish crime summarily (as when the processes of law are viewed as inadequate); broadly : a self-appointed doer of justice self–de·fense noun \ˌself-di-ˈfen(t)s\ Definition of SELF-DEFENSE 1: a plea of justification for the use of force or for homicide 2: the act of defending oneself, one's property, or a close relative Maybe it would be helpful if you used the right terms. Rather than trying to insinuate and inflame the topic by implying that someone who defends themselves with deadly force when a THUG tr

I never said you made it up. I said that the word "thug" has now become a racial slur and we are no longer able to use it without being called a racist and that in and of itself is CRAZY. As I said WHAT word will be next "choir boys"? For anyone to deny that being carjacked by a brutal ruffian or assassin (from Webster) is a crime of which the applicationof lethal force in defense is warranted. Further that should lethal force be employed more often in these cases by the defendants, then the instances of having to employ lethal force WILL drop noticably. And anyone who says that calling the p
  16. Write yourself a "get of jail free card". Take a sheet of paper and write your intentions on it. I am going to get my vehicle's emmission done and then to the tag office or some such. Seal it in an envelope. Write the date and time on the envelope over the seal. Keep it with you and in a handy location. In the UNLIKELY event that you are pulled over for an expired tag, show it to the officer. The time should not be far off showing the officer that you really are intending to take care of the matter of which you stated in writing before you left the house. You should get a warning. If he cites

Ok so we can now write THUG into our racial slur handbook. What's next? Delinquint, Juvenile offenders, Choir boys?!? Good God almighty!!! What is it going to take before we quit making excuses for people and start holding them responsible for who and what they make of THEMSELVES?!? mrnn I call BS big time on your assessment. I thug is any person who violates the law by use of force or coersion plain and simple.

I got news for you, many of these youths, Black, White, Hispanic and Asian are already training. and that training is not the kind that most of us want to see them getting. The correctional facilities are a prime recruiting and training ground for gangs and such. There are many videos of inmates practicing to disarm an LEO coming from a search position. What's your point TJB? That no matter the illegal doings of these folks, we should not want to see THEM harmed? That somehow they have yet again been disenfranchised by the "white" race? That when a person who is a minority carjacks someone, it

While I would never advocate the needless killing of any person, I have to say that when that car jacker sticks his gun in your window only to find out that you were armed, trained, willing and found the opportunity to apply deadly force then it was a case of justice served. Now I know there are many folks out there who will say "but to kill them over a car" I simply say that they showed their own willingness to kill or injure over the car first. They just got a taste of their own medicine before they could dish it out to that person. I'm sorry but when the actions of someone else places you i

  23. I ran a BBQ stand at 6 flags years ago. I have always had good results with placing the meats in at close and having finished the next morning. You don't have to be patient when your asleep. Low temps and low cooking is the way to go.
  24. I'm getting ready to smoke a couple of pork butts over night. ( I almost left PORK out of that sentance) Anyway, we will have one tomorrow and we will take the other and prepare it for a pulled pork BBQ and freeze it for later. We are putting a Mesquite rub on them and are going to use the mesquite wood chips.
