  1. Congrats!!! Girls are wonderful!
  2. That's very good news! Glad to hear he is doing better.
  3. Continued prayers that he makes a speedy and full recovery!
  4. I like funnel cakes. Hubby and DD like cotton candy.
  5. I have been sending my sister photos of our flooding to keep her updated. We had 6-7 feet in the lower back yard, and the basement flooded. Couldn't get to my horses until Monday afternoon since they were on the other part of our property, and it was flooded between here and there. The horses are fine, but my feed and tack shed was demolished and everything is gone. We did find parts of the shed, a halter, a feed bucket and a brush. All my bridles, halters, grooming supplies....are gone. Anyway, my sister in WA was having a garage sale this weekend. My 10 year old niece asked her if it
  6. Creek in my backyard is already over its bank again. Probably 2 feet above. I'm ready for this to end and be able to dry everything out.
  7. No problem. My daughter was the same way.
  8. When my daughter got hers last year, we took it up to the BOE building and got it signed since school was out. They took care of it while we were there and she started work the next day. Good luck!
  9. That's a very nice offer. My horses were in our pasture, which we couldn't get to most of the day due to a very flooded creek between us and them. Finally got to them around 3p and were able to lead them over the creek (water over bridge was still 2 feet deep) to higher ground. By the looks of things, they were in about 3 feet of water last night and today. Poor babies! They are nice and dry now though.
  10. Governor just declared 17 counties in state of emergency. Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Crawford, DeKalb, Douglas, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton, Paulding, Rockdale, Stephens and Walker
  11. Last night we discovered the basement was flooded - about 3 inches. When hubby put a pool table down there, he put a rug under it. Discovered that the rug covered the drain! As soon as we moved the rug, the water started disappearing. Now we're just left with cleanup. Ugh! About mignight last night hubby and I went down the hill to our barn. Chickens were all up on their roosts and fine. Barn looks to be just fine, but part of the pasture near it on lower ground is flooded. When the lightning flashes, I can see the lower area that leads over to the creek and horse pasture. It'
  12. Remember, the 'Governor's Tax Credit' for homestead property was NOT funded by the State legislature for 2009 which will result in an increase on your 2009 tax bill. I think the average increase just due to this was around $150.
  13. tomorrow night.... Anyone know what the ages are? Anyone planning to go? How much chaperoning is there?
  14. We heard it too, but not sure what it was.
  15. Yep, I saw about 30 of them on my way home. I drive highways and back roads. Lots of people being pulled over and lots of extra cops driving around.
  16. I used mine. It was pretty busy, but I ended up with a spot right up front. Just zipped through to check out the store and get a new shirt. Store is very nice. Got a nice shirt for $2.80 (sales plus $10 off). Glad to see that it is a "full" store including clothes, shoes, salon, portraits...
  17. I moved from WA to GA with 6 cats. Drove 3000 miles in 6 days. I have a mini van, so took out the seats in the way back. Put a covered litter box back there, and 2 cat beds. No drugs for any of the kitties. Most of them were fine. One kept trying to get by my feet until I blocked the area so he couldn't get down there. Another decided that it would be fun to ride laid across the back of my neck, which actually ended up being fine. My suggestions would be to have a covered litter box (as far away from you as possible). Take an extra bag of litter, and some plastic bags to use when
  18. Great. Not looking forward to getting my bill. My budget is only $250 and it was $202 last month, so you guys are scaring me. Guess I'll find out in a few days.
  19. Awesome! Thank you! I have a kid going to college in a couple weeks.
  20. Awesome! It will be nice to have a new/used bookstore so close to home. See you in August!
  21. My daughter took 2 AP tests, so I guess we'll be watching the mail. Thanks for the info!
