Like the Governor, you are grossly simplifying the problem. I'll grant there are surely some teachers that are poor and don't motivate their students well, but they are not all the problem. At least half (or more) of the problem are the students and their family life. Parents who both have to work to support the family and don't have time to help with homework and make sure the kids stay straight. Parents that feel it's the government's responsibility to teach their kids and they shouldn't have to help. Kids from split homes who single parent is stretched beyond reasonable limits

I thought unions were the democrats strongest supporters. You disagree with labor protections?

Wife needed gas as well and we went to the same station I got it at 2.39 this afternoon, after dinner it was up to 2.49. The only thing faster than the speed of light is the speed of price increases in a panic.

Yea, the Kroger at Crossroads had people 3 deep for the pumps that were still running, still $2.17 and several pumps were bagged off. Of course this happens the day after I've let the truck get down to under 1/8th of a tank. I can't stand waiting, so I went to the local station near Bentwater where it was 2.39 a gallon. No lines there LOL.

A better question to ask yourself is what damage / death a riot of democrats does anytime they think they need justice. It's not the conservitives that are going around routinely destroying stores in their own neighborhoods, shooting cops trying to protect them, burning cars and other behaviors and claiming it to be "OK" -

If you think 5% of the gun owners in the country are going to execute a successful coup against the army, navy, national guard, police and the other 95% of the gun owners, then there is no hope of you ever seeing any reality. That's the whole point of having armed citizens. Good luck in whatever world it is you live in. -

You really need to cut back on whatever natural products you're taking.... they are seriously making you paranoid. The problem with your theories is that if the God fearing, Gun Loving Right wanted to take over... we'd done it a long time ago. This says it all: The left is attempting the coup, by bringing in immigrants that they feel they can buy off with our tax money for votes. -
Bundy Brothers Acquitted in Takeover of Oregon Wildlife Refuge

I seriously doubt any death threats were issued, that is your overactive imagination again, but the total distrust of the government that is building in all parts of society is becoming a real problem, as this shows. I don't know how we unstop this government and/or get people interested in society as a whole again vs what *they* individually want, but we better figure it out quick. -

That's freaking scary is what it is. It shows juries are now allowing emotions to control their votes rather than the facts. How long before some rioter is acquitted of killing someone because they were protesting "Government bias" or some such crap. -

Yea, Washington has been broken for years. There is no longer the idea of working together for the betterment of the country, it's a "my way or the highway" or "Get everything I can" to get back in next election ideal. No longer are moderates proposed for anything. -
There are no local races on the D ballot during the primary because no one is running in those races as a democrat. You will be able to vote for the Republican of your choice in the general election as they are all on the general ballot.

Yep, that's the land I was thinking of. Couldn't remember the road name.

They've been saying that for 3-4 (or more) years now. I'll believe it when they open. I think that last I heard it was supposed to be down near Jim and Nicks on the other side of the parking lot.

The CASH for SCRAP cars guy, are you still here?
The Sound Guy replied to subby1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think it was Quality Service Tire. I used him to haul away my Grand Am. What kind of car is it and what kind of shape? I know a car donation place that be interested in fixing it up and giving it to a family if that's all that's wrong with it. -
PSA: UBER drivers - Read your insurance updates!
The Sound Guy replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Interesting, I wish I'd known that while my son was delivering pizza in college.... My problem is that I've had these policies since I was 18 (30+ years ago) and I've lost a bunch of the mods over the years. I wonder if I can request a reprint of the current contract? -
Looks like the insurance companies are cracking down on the UBER business with personal cars. My state farm updates came in today with a new exclusions for Liability coverage, Medical Payments coverage and Rental car coverage: "THERE IS NO COVERAGE FOR AN INSURED FOR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE OWNERSHIP, MAINTENANCE, OR USE OF A VEHICLE WHILE IT IS BEING USED TO CARRY PERSONS FOR A CHARGE" "THERE IS NO COVERAGE FOR AN INSURED FOR ANY COVERED VEHICLE WHILE IT IS BEING USED TO CARRY PERSONS FOR A CHARGE" "THERE IS NO COVERAGE FOR AN INSURED WHO IS OCCUPYING A VEHICLE WHILE IT IS

Try this page from the Sec of States office. It will show you your exact ballot, where you should vote, and all kinds of good stuff. My Voter Page Fill out the minimum information requested to locate your ballot and then look under "Voter Information" to find the "Click here for Sample Ballots" link. -
If the meter spinner stops when the valve to the house is shut, I suspect the meter is ok, there is really a leak somewhere. Then I'd turn off the valve to hot water heater and check the meter again. If it's still running, that clears the heater overpressure valve and the entire hot water side. If not, you know it's on that side. Are there cutoffs to the sinks and toilets? If so, I'd turn all of them off and then check the meter. If it stops, then one of them is the problem and turn them on one at a time until it spins again. Ice maker in the fridge? A small leak will be

For Windows 7: (Should be something like this for Windows 10, I'll have to get on another machine to check) Hit control - alt - delete, select "Start Task Manager" Click on the "Performance" Tab Click on the button at the bottom "Resource Monitor" A new window will open with the Resource Monitor. Click on "Disk Drive" A list of programs that are using the drive during the last second or two will show. Watch that screen to see what program file name using the drive. You might have to google the name to see what the actual program is.

Local Spray in Bedliner recomendations
The Sound Guy replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks everyone. This kind of local information is the best part of this site. -
Finally replaced my 16 YO Pickup and think I want to get a spray in bed liner for this one. Anyone had one installed by someone local you'd recommend? Thanks!

Haiti has been destroyed (again) and does need help. So will many in FL/GA/SC/NC, but there will be few in the US that starve to death because of this storm. That is a real possibility in Haiti. Their government is useless due to a total lack of resources. The ideal solution would be to remove everyone from Haiti because it needs the most support of any in the world, but I don't see that happening (or really even working) All we can do is try to help, both here and Cuba/Haiti and the Bahamas.
