1. Did the facility group build theirs too? Just asking.
2. Maybe I need to check mine. I may have one left.
3. I have one question. Do we ever want anyone on the BOC who is a yes person rather than someone who thinks for themselves? I don't! I think we should look at the candidates based on merit and what they will bring to the BOC. I want them to care about and work for what is best for Paulding County and it's citizens. I don't want them to be anybody's yes man. JMO
4. I will have to check but I do believe they were much higher. I have worked in the system and I know how things changed. It was not for the better.
5. In my opinion a huge part of the problem in Pauldings schools, and others, is due to the NCLB mandates that the Federal Government saddled them with. Do you really want them to have even more say? I would oppose it with all my might (which isn't much). If I had a say NCLB would be left behind.
6. We have friends in Myrtle Beach and when we went we stayed at the Regency Towers. Had a great condo overlooking the beach. I do not like the color of the ocean there and it is not as clear as PCB but I would go again. Had a nice time and it is a beautiful place. We may have to switch this year too.
7. Thank you for being willing to talk to the people. I am sure they will have a lot of questions and don't be surprised if they are personal.
8. Just to clarify for you surepip, I would vote for Zell Miller if he was running on the (D) ticket. He would not vote for Obama and would fight against his agenda. He was one of the real Democrats of the past. I think that party has been high jacked by the progressives, socialists, and communists. I want nothing to do with their agendas I have been watching the riots in Athens Greece this morning. They are horrible. People who are used to the government supplying their needs are out of work or suffering pay cuts and they are burning and killing. It is horrible. I say no thanks to those
9. I know. We had 2 feet in our basement. The dam that broke and caused it is not going to be repaired. I don't know where that will put us in the next big rain. It cost us a great deal in time, money, and loss of beloved family mementos. I feel very fortunate that we had only 2 feet. Some lost everything. I am keeping all of those who are suffering through this in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe.
10. I see the SPLOST and the funds that pay for the teachers as two different things. I am not inclined to vote for anything that pays for more buildings. I would vote to keep the teachers and buy materials for the students.
11. I guess my opinion is swayed because I know a lot of teachers. I don't think they are always able to check their emotions at the door like they would a coat. Some of them are the only source of income for their families right now. They are very very worried. When you add that to the fact that some of their students love those teachers and pick up on their emotions it is not surprising that they might ask what is going on. Other kids just make it their business to listen to any conversation between teachers that they can overhear. It is a big deal and the kids will hear about it at home a
12. Glad you have the high ground. Let us know how it goes and hope you can get out soon.
13. There are two separate checkbooks for for the BOC and the BOE but the taxpayers pay for both of them from one checkbook when the tax bill comes. I really think they are as upset about this as we are. The falling economy has a domino effect. Our teachers are being knocked down right now and Paulding will feel that in our Businesses and tax revenues. I think we need to make sure that they know that we are willing to pay for things that we can't do without and they NEED to strike from the budget ANYTHING that we can do without. Keeping teachers in the classroom is a high priority and they sh
14. I bet some of them are crying tonight and I know they have heavy hearts. I have said before that hind sight is always 20/20. Times have changed for us and for them.
15. Let them vote for the millage. We will know how they voted and as I recall that is one of the things that ticked off so many people about the previous BOC members. I will vote NO unless given better reasons for voting yes.
16. Not much for what they have to contend with. I have asked $1,000 worth of questions all by myself. It is a good thing we don't have to pay them by the hour.
17. If the former Chairman were still there would you still support this?
18. This is off topic but I would like to thank him too. I have sent that little feller to so many family members and friends who needed some stress relief. They loved him!
19.

We don't worry about that HEAR!! Or maybe that is HERE but we know what the poster meant and that is what counts HERE! LOL
20. I think he would have gotten all of that too. But he did not want to risk it. I can't blame him either.
21. You are correct. I know a candidate who just dropped out of the race for State School Superintendent because he did not want to spend his savings to run the race against Kathy Cox. He is a great guy and a very qualified candidate.
22. Loved her! A very talented Lady. My favorite movie was 'Georgy Girl'.
