The Horses4Heroes open house at LauraLeigh Farms is Saturday, April 21st, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. All our local heroes (firemen, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, critical care nurses, hospice nurses, first responders and special needs teachers) and their families are invited for an afternoon of free horseback riding, games, food and drinks and demonstrations in natural horsemanship. We will also be offering addtional information about Horses4Heroes and some of the other programs available.

The house next door to me went up for auction and did not sell. It is now listed with a realtor. The central air units are gone along with the entry gates. It was a nice house. It's on 5 acres and has a big inground pool. I hope a buyer comes along soon. Someone with horses would be nice!

I have been telling people about this for over a year. The census came from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and so did the letter. I didn't return the form by the deadline; the letter came about a month later. My husband finally filled out the census and returned it. If he kept the letter, I will send you a copy. If not, I'll probably be getting a new farm census in the near future that I will gladly share with anyone who would like to see it. This was the first time in 11 years that the feds have requested information and a "head count" on my horses.

It's only making a big deal of a worst case scenario if you are not a farm owner. The letter I received threatening fine or imprisonment if I didn't fill out and return a farm census about my horses is a big deal to me!!!
