  1. A friend of mine did some contract work at a power plant out in Texas and one of the guys he worked with sent him back home with about 200 hand made frozen tamales in one of those cooler bags. He carried it on the flight and it made it through all the security without the TSA batting an eye over it. His liaison at the plant, a Spanish-American guy, entire family gets together once a year and spends a week making and filling up an entire chest freezer with the tamales. Oh and they were all foil wrapped, so after opening the first few the TSA waved him on through with them, after an x-
  2. Just wanted to add that he might need some storage cubes, or some rubbermaid short totes that can slide under the bed.
  3. Shoot who needs electricity when you can use a homemade alcohol stove. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwhuWauvC_g
  4. Well it's okay hardware wise, it was a step ahead of the rest a year and half ago when released, and the screen is still gorgeous compared to many other phones I've looked at since it's OLED. But the N1 has had it's issues, esp with the radio antenna weakness and screen losing calibration, necessitating a soft reset. And I'm on Cyanogenmod 7.0.3-N1 Stable, and was able to get WiFi Calling to work via my carrier tho it isn't officially supported on this phone.
  5. If you can't poke a stick into it and hang it to char over the fire.. it ain't campin.
  6. I done heard all about your maters, but still waiting on the evidence
  7. Sounds like the Android OS got corrupted somehow and reset itself to a still in the box state until it could sync up and set the correct date/time, which they do in the factory before shipping most times. All the apps are stored somewhere else on the phone where the OS reset won't affect them, and contact info is usually saved via a gmail account. And as far as I know the HTC Passion was only sold overseas, over here in the US it was branded the Nexus One, and Google picked the design specs for both iterations.
  8. Last night it was boneless chicken, seasoned but sans sauce, on the grill along with grilled fresh squash and zucchini. Tonight I'm doing an inside meal, fried hamburger steaks with gravy, mashed garlic taters, and steamed broccoli.
  9. The Google Nexus One is also known as the HTC "Passion", it was a great reference design by Google for their Android OS, but poor implementation by HTC. I have the same phone and finally after I year I got around to unlocking it and putting a custom modded OS on mine and it's fixed many of the issues I was having, while introducing a few new ones. But the main issue I was having was "no network found" in certain 3G coverage areas on the big Tmo. If that happens you can go into network settings on that phone and force 2G/Edge calling, and it seems to make it work properly for cell phone ca
  10. OMG! You know what I've heard planking originated with? Lumber.. But these days I'm more apt to teeter-totter whilst lying on my stomach rather than "plank".
  11. <--- Gives Mrs. G his "sad puppy dog eyes" look. I loves me some 'nanner puddin'
  12. Gratz on the bike! And if Asians can pull around fat-ass American tourists all day on trailers hooked to their 150cc bikes, I don't see why you couldn't pull your trailer, completely loaded down, with the manly "potato potato potato" noise making bike you're sure to be getting.
  13. Just a reminder, shouldn't some of ya'll be getting in bed now? 5:30 am comes mighty early
  14. I've done lived here all my life and come to believe Georgia only has 2 seasons, damn hot and damn cold, and never shall the twain mix.
  15. Is that why I get so ornery over kids planking on my dang lawn?
  16. I've rethunk it. I'll be there in the parking lot with 12oz bottles of water for $5. Hope to see all you guys there.
  17. Tempting, but I don't think I'd want to stand around outside in this near 100 degree heat all dang day, and I have too much to do this week. BTW, Offical Chick-Fil'A PDF file with "First 100" rules <-- Clicky Link. Official open date is Thursday July 14th, 2011 for the Dallas location. You have to show up the day before for the First 100 deal.
  18. Firefox 5.0 by Mozilla Chrome by Google Either should be able to import your favorites from IE during install process.
  19. Could be that the school's server is overwhelmed at the moment from all the students trying to get the files in the same timeframe. Which I would wait until later to try to get the files that are being problematic. You can also check your own connection over at Speedtest.net to determine if there may be an issue on your end with latency or download speed. If you are on broadband you should see sub-100 ping/latency and then the speed should be close to what you pay for minus some overhead.
  20. Are you clicking on the links in your internet browser and trying to open them that way? OR Are you right-clicking and saving them to your computer and then trying to open them? Reason I ask is that they may not be fully downloading when you try to open them via your web browser, best to save them to your desktop/download folder then open them.
  21. I got some culture once, but the Dr. gave me a shot that cleared it right up.
