  1. Get a time machine, go back to 1984, walk into Zayre's... or better yet my bedroom around 1987, when I still had ALL the toys. My parents were "into" Star Wars, and I had everything that tied into the movies, books, records, every damn figure.. And I never really "played" with them except for displaying them, my room around that time would be a retro-nerds wet dream. Had shelves put up just to display it all. Then I hit puberty, put it all away in boxes, and my mom gave it all away one summer when I was off visiting other relatives.
  2. He died a year ago not with the verdict, altho it seems some type of justice died with that, but when has Florida won a case properly in recent history. I said my feelings a year ago on the matter. Zimmerman was a definite racist, fantasy living phobe who was stalking someone and thought his fantasy had come true until the "perp" ended up fighting back. The folks getting a hard on over the whole case have issues that are only solved by stroking their guns slowly. Haters gonna hate.
  3. So you're saying you're up for a blunt?
  4. One of the benefits of actual recycling would be something like that would be available forever. Too bad all we do now is grind up the electronics, smelt them for the valuable metals and trash the rest as slag.
  5. It all depends on where you apply it.
  6. Dogs are prone to get the same itchies we do running around outside especially from mosquitoes, not to mention fleas are bad this year as well. Benadryl as mentioned may help in the short term along with a hyrdocortisone spray or shampoo from the store.
  7. The selected space is a horrible location for almost every reason you can possibly think of. I wonder if they're just trying to get it placed within Dallas "city limits" for revenue reasons.
  8. It's a double-edged sword and always has been since without employees Wal-Mart would not exist either. But that doesn't fit the Ayn Randian group-think that's so prevalent these days, that businesses should exist solely for profit without any other consideration of how that profit is made. Regardless, what concerns me more is that folks are championing returning to a Victorian era level of employment where man-power is abundant and not worth the paper their paychecks are written upon. As long as the middle class tears itself apart we tend to ignore the man behind the curtain.
  9. It does work, but... When you sand/grind off the yellowed coating on the polycarbonate lenses you remove any remaining UV protection, which is probably already mostly gone, and they will yellow back up again within 3 months if parked outside daily in the sun. Once you remove the yellowing you can either put a temporary wax coating on, like Meguires Plast-X OR you can mix Spar Urathane and Paint Thinner as a 50/50 mix and wipe it on with a blue shop towel which can last anywhere from a year to 3 years depending on exposure. Google headlight lens coatings to read up on the mixed method, w
  10. If you get it done let us know how it goes. I almost get to the point of having it done then suddenly my ear clears up, like taking your car to the mechanic. I've only let mine go so long because at night lying in bed I've been able to clear the fluid fairly regularly which tends to help it along and clear up on its own until I get another cold/sinus thing.. then it's back to ear infection..
  11. Actually, in aviation definition, it does have to be wingtip digging in spinning the plane violently into the frontal nose of the plane to qualify as a "cartwheel". Cartwheel is when the horizontal plane suddenly becomes the vertical. From aviation definition of "ground loop": In aviation, a ground loop is a rapid rotation of a fixed-wing aircraft in the horizontal plane while on the ground. Aerodynamic forces may cause the advancing wing to rise, which may then cause the other wingtip to touch the ground. In severe cases (particularly if the ground surface is soft), the inside wing can
  12. You'll know when it opens up, and just be prepared to do "something" with the fluid that suddenly drains. It's nasty.
  13. I haven't resorted to tubes, but going back 3 years ago now I had a serious "cold" or whatever that started this, if I get something simple like an allergy attack I'm subject to getting the fluid back and about lose my mind wanting someone to "answer that damn phone" since the ringing is horrible, actually it's more of a constant dog whistle in my ear. I've had it last for 5-6 months at a stretch nearly unable to hear out of that ear which can't be safe in some situations. Like you nothing much works to "clear it up" except time, and, for me, it has eventually cleared up each time, so far
  14. Wait 3 months until the NTSB release their reports is more like it. Unbelievably they had some jack-hole on earlier who "witnessed it in total" who were telling the announcers that the plane cartwheeled, lost all the wings, and the doors were stuck shut trapping folks inside as it burned... The news was broadcasting this along with aerial shots showing the plane in no state as such with all ramps deployed and doors all open.. Then, even the announcers were speculating if the plane flipped over and tore the roof off then flipped back on it's belly.. as twitter photos showing the roof
  15. Announcer 1: But think how bad it could have been if there were 8000 passengers aboard and suddenly godzilla climbed out of the bay and stomped it right in front of the cameras for everyone at home. Announcer 2: OH NOES that would have been terribull it'd be like something Al Queda planned!!!!! Headline changed to read: 80000 killed by Al Queda plotting with Godzilla in Airplane Crash.
  16. What the eff is up with the news any more. They're not reporting anything, just speculating "how bad it could have been" and bullshiitting to the maximum over the thing.
  17. Can't be done. Whether you eat poppy seeds or shoot heroin it's what your body processes it into, called metabolites, which is what they actually are testing for. Those stay in the body much longer than the drugs themselves hence the reason those are used for testing. Since poppy seeds and opiates contain the same family of chemicals then it causes false positives if you indulge in one but would never consider doing the other. As per the story it depends on what threshold they use to consider you positive for drug use, poppy seeds tend to leave a much smaller trace than actual opiate
