One of the admins at North Cobb is an old & dear friend,,,she is the one (according to his interview on the MDJ website) who told him he needed to tone it down & dress more like a man. She is probably the most easy to get along with person I have ever known, and the most tolerant of differences (AND she is from Miami herself). If SHE told him to tone it down, that tells me it was WAY over the top, and far beyond just "expressing himself".

Au contraire...Cobb has now jumped on this practice as part of its "standards based grading" I've actually been told I am not allowed to penalize students for turning work in late, and last year I was told to let a student make up a test he missed because he was SKIPPING. So, unfortunately there goes that argument. I will say I know many teachers who have left Cobb to teach in Paulding. They all say they are much happier working here, even if the pay is less and the resources are not as plentiful. I don't know any who have left Paulding to teach in Cobb. To those who say that

Not a big fan of Paula, but it definitely isn't her fault that we have one of the highest rates of obesity in the world. People were stuffing their faces long before she came along. The stuff she cooks definitely isn't part of the Weight Watcher's plan, but it's a lot better for you than the crap in the vending machines kids stuff their faces with. I grew up on that kind of cooking (Paula WISHES she could cook like my Granny ) and was for the most part always skinny. I didn't really start gaining weight until I got out on my own & did too much of my dinner preparation in the lines of

1 stick of butter 2 cups of heavy cream (1/2 & 1/2 works just as well) grated parmesan (recipe says 1/4 cup, I usually put close to a full cup in it) black pepper garlic powder melt the butter, add the cream & parmesan until it starts to boil. add as much black pepper & garlic powder as you want until it tastes the way you like it It's actually better the second day

Macland Road is closed indefinitely. It washed out at the point where there are ponds on each side of the road. They are going to have to bring in divers to assess just how bad the damage is. Several of my students live right in the blocked off area. They've been told it could be months.

Cobb schools are back in tomorrow. Can you imagine the traffic if they had gone back today?

Teachers, if you are thinking that going in tomorrow is a waste of time, that you'll sit around doing nothing,,,I though the same thing when I found out I had to go in for a work day today. Once I got there, I had NO trouble finding plenty to do...if you can't find anything, I'll be happy to send you some of mine!
