  1. And I want to know why every news media keeps calling this a 'DARK FAMILY SECRET'? Only two people in the family knew about it and I wonder how many 'DARK FAMILY SECRETS' other people have? As 'DARK FAMILY SECRETS' go, this one isn't on the board.
  2. According to Oprah, this new sister tried more than once to contact her and Oprah never knew about it since she is so insulated from the real world by all of her handlers. She just met her in November and from what she said, didn't know about her for long before that. I have no problem with you being jaded, more often then not my general reaction to things like this is, 'Yea, right'. I'm not a huge Oprah fan, but I believed what she said. Of course, I could be wrong. (Remember those words....I don't say them often!!!!)
  3. Not a dumb question. Remember, the only dumb question is one that is not asked. You could have asked the one that I have asked more than once.......'but how does it know'? Now that's a dumb question!!!!
  4. After watching the show, I realize now why she made such a big deal out of it. I think that Oprah wanted to be the one to get this story out there as opposed to the National Enquirer or the Star, which is understandable. I also must say, it is extremely commendable of this new sister not to go to anyone but Oprah with this info. She has apparently known this since 2007 and said nothing to anyone about it except for the channels she was trying to go through to get to Oprah. Oprahs other sister sold her out to the tabloids, so it must be refreshing to have another family member who wouldn'
  5. How great would it be to have TWO of them? I always tell Hubby that I want an extra dryer so I can get twice as much laundry done.
  6. I saw that show too and it was sad. It's bad enough if your mother dies, but to have her murdered so brutally seems so much worse.
  7. I used to think that if my Mom said she didn't have the money for something that she could write a check for it instead......little did I know!
  8. This is the all in one thing, right? They are very popular in Europe and when a friends daughter was an exchange student in Holland, she LOVED it. She said they work great and theres no switching from washer to dryer. You put the clothes in dirty and they come out dry and clean. I think it's a great idea. We had one when I was little, about 100 years ago and my Mom loved it. I can only imagine that the technology has advanced in the last 40 years or so.
  9. No kidding, who cares? Why would she think that 'America will be shocked' at the realization she has a half sister?
  10. I watched it........nope......not coming back. I loved that show.
  11. Yep! When people are caught in an affair, often they use the same old line, 'it just happened'. No it didn't. A kiss could just happen or even a grope, but how does driving to a motel, checking in, losing your clothes, etc., 'just happen'. You have a lot of time to reconsider what you're doing before going down that road. If you think you're attracted to someone other than your partner, get the He!! out of Dodge......FAST!
  12. It was the Harper family from Lake City in Clayton county.
  13. I agree too, but then the owner of the idiot dog will be mad because 'sweet little Tippie would never bite anyone'. Airhorn.....I like it!!!!!!
  14. Well then the dumb a$$ should have been watching where she was going. Good grief!
  15. Just because this kid SAID that you could 'hear a pin drop' when he kicked the ball 66 yards, doesn't mean it's true. You can't tell me and make me believe that if he could kick as well as he thinks he can, that not a single person cheered and welcomed him and his talent.
  16. We have always had family parties at home. We would sometimes have themes, but they were always at home. My daughters are 24 and 25 and 3rd grader is nine and I don't ever expect to have a party anywhere else but at my house. My 24 year old did have her 18th birthday party at Paulding Meadows, but it's because she invited a band to play and we didn't have anywhere for them to set up. She didn't think that they would actually come and play, but they did and we had a blast. However, that 'blast' cost us about $1200.00. Never, ever again!!
  17. I think thats the crux of this thread. Why did these people get a house when the event that ruined so many lives could have been avoided? Every year, many parents lose their children to illness and in the meantime they lose their home, savings and everything else they have just trying to save that child who has no control over their circumstances. Why aren't these people given houses too? I am one of the most compassionate people alive, however, my compassion is reserved for people who have no control over their circumstances. I HATE that this girl died in an accident and I can't ima
  18. OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! What is up with this commercial!! Give the 'family jewels' REALLY???!
  19. This is the one weatherman Hubby actual listens to and halfway believes. He was right on the mark last week, so it really makes you wonder if will happen.
  20. I've heard the words snow and ice so often recently, they kind of go in one ear and out the other, which could prove to be a bad thing if it actually comes to pass and I'm not prepared.
  21. Then I apologize, it just struck a nerve. Truce?
  22. And what kind of 'attitude' comes from walking away from your job on the weekends? A bad one?? A slacker one? What kind exactly? Just because your family runs in and out of the house at all hours of the day and night including weekends because they have breakthrough ideas, doesn't mean your way is any better than anyone elses and that weekend homework is the only way to learn. My husband does in fact walk away from his job and leaves IT ALL at work when he's at home, you make it sound like a bad thing. It's not. We are always teaching and talking to our son about things that he w
  23. It's a building for goodness sake, it's not like the pastor is going to be preaching from the pulpit during graduation. Once again, the few trying to ruin it for the majority.
  24. You and me both. I asked about this a week or so ago and got nowhere.
