Never seen Rocky Horror or Casablanca.

It varies, but in a nutshell, it's rice, blackeyed peas, onions, small ham bits, and sometimes tomotoes all mixed together. YUMMY!!!

This is all too true!!!! Why Cops are Pricks · Anyone ever wonder why cops are such 'pricks'? Every crappy, rotten, horrible, scary situation that exists in life, cops deal with it. Repeatedly. Every friggen' day. Your 'worst day ever' is just another tour. Car accident, homicide, rape, robbery, baby mama drama, baby daddy drama, family dispute over who gets the last pork chop that winds up with a dinner guest sporting a steak knife in

Plant Bowen has installed and are still installing 'scrubbers' to remove green house gasses from their emissions. It is steam coming from those stacks, not smoke.
-
All the power that is generated goes into a common pool, a grid. No one gets all of their power from one plant or another. It's in the utilities best interest to keep the most efficient (least expensive) plants operating all the time. If this is plant Bowen, the it will run all the time. If utility prices go up, they go up for all, not just those around a particular power plant.

Who grew up with guns in the house?
dawneykids replied to cookies are sweet's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I didn't grow up with guns in the house, but I had uncles who were alcoholic idiots who had guns. They used and brandished them with no regard to anyones safety, young or old. That's why when Hubby brought one home several years ago, I was dead set against them. He made it clear that it was a hobby that he wanted to learn and participate in and I could either get on board or not. I chose to get on board and learn about the use of guns and how to safely use and handle them. We now have many and LOVE to go shooting. -
The deregulation of electrical services would be a disaster just like the deregulation of natural gas was several years ago. Talk about greed? The gas companies jacked up the price of gas so much that normal people couldn't pay their bill. New companies popped up like blisters and tried to screw everyone and their mother with outrageous rates. That went on for months and months and months until the gas companies realized that no one was winning or making any money and they finally came back to earth with their prices and with customer service. They tried electric utility deregulation in Ca

Agreed.

I'm not too artsy and I love the East Village. It's a really neat place. Hubby just recommended the Atlantic Station area, as well as Virginia Highlands. He said Atlantic Station may be a little safer simply because there is high police presence, but he works in V. Highlands and he loves that area too. I feel safe in both of those places and I don't like going anywhere in Atlanta that's more than 10 minutes from the Fox. There is crime everywhere as we all know, but there are certain areas that you DO NOT want to go for sure.

These children weren't wearing backpacks when they were killed, so I'm at a loss as to how this is supposed to work. Unfortunately, you can't be protected all the time. Not your child, not you, not your neighbor.

My nephew lives across the street from Piedmont Park on 9th street and he LOVES it. Lots of restaurants, young and hip people. Also, Hubby knows every section of Atlanta and it can go from good to really bad in just a few blocks. If this move comes to pass, let me know the area or street shes looking at and I'll get you the lowdown ASAP.

Me too. But most of the people I visit never insist that I stop helping!!
-
When I'm a guest in someones home, whether for dinner or a period of days, I bend over backwards to help even if my hosts insist that I do nothing. However, just the opposite is true when I have guests, I don't expect them to do anything and insist that they don't. Partly because I want them to be guests and partly because I have a way of doing things my own way and being the control freak I am, I'd rather do it myself.

Hey, I've got an idea...........let's cut our nose off to spite our face. That's ridiculous.

Cobb County Woman Predicts Her Own Murder
dawneykids replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have what I think is the solution to these bleeding heart judges who let dangerous killers back out on the streets everyday. HOLD THE JUDGES ACCOUNTABLE. As far as I'm concerned, 1 or 2 wrongful death lawsuits against these judges could nip this in the bud. This judge is partially responsible for this womans death and until someone has the moxy to step up to the plate and say so, it's going to continue and get even worse. It's ridiculous that violent criminals get any consideration at all and then to be let back out on the streets to hurt whoever they choose. These judges need to answer for -

You mean like at Georgia Tech, where people are robbed on a very regular basis because the CRIMINALS KNOW that it's safe ground where NO weapons are allowed? -

It won't. I don't understand why people don't get that. CRIMINALS WILL ALWAYS HAVE GUNS.........THEY'RE CRIMINALS. Does anyone honestly believe that they come by them LEGALLY? SERIOUSLY? Soooo, the smart thing to do is to take guns away from law abiding citizens. Can you imagine how the crime rate would go up then? The gun toting CRIMINALS will KNOW that NON-CRIMINALS have nothing to defend themselves with and it will be a free for all. Dumbest thing I have heard in a long time. -

No kiddin'. I love the way they always show the criminals mugshot when they are wanted or have done something worse than what the mugshot was for in the first place. Why didn't they just keep them in jail after they took the picture? Seems like a no brainer to me. -
With so many people screaming about gun control, this story proves why stricter gun control laws aren't the answer. It also explains why the only person you can LEGALLY buy a gun for is a spouse or a child. A 24 year old woman bought the Bushmaster rifle for the felon in New York who mowed down firefighters as they were responding to a fire he had set. http://abcnews.go.com/News/woman-charged-york-firefighter-ambush-gun/story?id=18084774#.UN8EQ3cfiMc
