We attended the Special Olympics today at PCHS and it was great besides the wind blowing at 30mph at times! Thank you to the football team, basketball team, cheerleaders, coaches, ROTC and ANYONE who had a hand in putting this shindig on. Every special needs child had a 'buddy' that went around with them to their events, to the tattoo and face painting tents, etc. So much effort and thought is required for an event like this and believe me, it doesn't go unnoticed. I've said this before and I'll say it again, you should never have to see or experience someone elses plight to appreciate wh

Rodney's BBQ is teaming up with Harrison's Heroes
dawneykids replied to HaydensMama247's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Our granddaughter is in Harrisons class at Abney. We all have t-shirts and I'm selling 'corn bags', bags filled feed corn that you can heat in the microwave to sooth sore muscles, and am giving all the proceeds to Harrisons Heros for hos bike. It's not a lot, but it's something. We're off the the Special Olympics this morning at Paulding County HS, maybe they'll raise more money there. His teacher told me on Wednesday that they are $2800.00 shy of the goal. We'll be there on Monday for sure, thank you for supporting such a worthy cause. -
They tried to put her in Rehab but she said No, No, No

Shes such a pathetic train wreck. There seem to be no consequences for her continued bad behavior, so why should she do what shes told to do this time when nothing is going to happen to her when she doesn't ? -
According to most people, yes. Not me though, I'm not that gal who has the 'you know how men are' mentality.

Purple Heart Soldier lied and his wife's leg was amputated?!?
dawneykids replied to justgettingby's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Not that it's proof of anything, but I saw a pic of him wearing a PH on his uniform. I hope this is a big misunderstanding, it's not like the military hasn't ever made a mistake. -

The person pulling the float caused it IMO. Thats exactly right. The driver has peanuts compared to the railroad. -

I agree completely, especially on the second part. -
That's what I was thinking too. If you need tool rental, Lowes will do you no good.
-
No, you're not.

I just looked on their site and I didn't see it offered as a sport. Weird.

They have bull riding at EPHS as a sport? When did this start?

I'm so sorry for your loss, I had no idea. But I will tell you something for sure, most of the time when people say 'please call me if you need anything', they really mean it. At a time like this, people are at a loss as to what to do to help, give them that chance you might be surprised because it can help you and it will make them feel like they are doing something, anything to help a friend in need.

Is this the guy who was exposing himself in Hiram?
dawneykids replied to JulietAndKevin's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No kiddin'!!!!!! He could quite possibly come up on the wrong gal at the wrong time and wished he'd kept his pants up and zipped. He needs to be dropped in his tracks. -
Agreed. If you go before it gets acute and you have no choice, you can make a plan for your kids and recovery. I've known too many people who have had to have their gallbladder out as an emergency procedure and that is way more complicated because it's so unexpected.

Choot him. And I mean that!!!! -
That's what we have now. We got a new roof courtesy of our ins provider a few years ago because of severe hail damage and they did the ridge vent at no extra charge. Boy, did it made a huge difference in the temperature in the attic.

Like I said, crazy as an outhouse rat.

The people who run this state, including the mayor of NYC, seem a little out of touch with reality to me. There is no way you can police every single thing that may hurt someone. Drinks that are too big? They did that so people would have to by two and pay extra tax, IMO. Suing a Smyrna gun store when YOU send people to buy guns just to hand them off to someone else. They were the criminals in that situation, not the gun store. Idiots.

I'm not certain one way or the other about her guilt, but one thing I am convinced of is that the prosecutor is as crazy as an outhouse rat. He makes no sense whatsoever. His initial reasoning of her guilt was because when she and her boyfriend found out about her friend being dead, they were hugging and acting strange. Well, the pics I saw looked like two people shocked and upset, not sexually aroused as he once claimed.

SPINOFF: What questionable fashion choices do you make?
dawneykids replied to Over The Moon's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm throwing Hubby under the bus on this one. He's very handsome, generous, indulgent with me, etc. However, he insists on wearing cut off sweat pants as shorts. OMG, they're AWFUL, I HATE them. But he does it because he says they are ultra comfortable, I guess that counts for something. -

Guess who isn't working in her yard any more this year

I'll bat my eyelashes and ask him, probably won't work though! He did that as a courtesy for a customer last week because the guy was going to have to call a tree crew and pay out the nose. He did the same work in about 10 minutes for free. Of course he didn't take away the debris, but the guy was really happy.

Mom loves guys with big trucks!!

Hubby is taking his trouble truck, a small bucket truck, to 5th graders school tomorrow for career day show and tell. It's all clean and shiny sitting in our cul-de-sac and I swear as soon as he rolled to a stop, 15 kids came out of the woodwork to play on it. They're in the bucket, in the cab, on the back, hanging off the bumper. And I can hear the air brakes being operated as we speak. It's like a giant, really expensive jungle gym and they're having a ball. I see hardhats and big gloves and lots of tools in little hands. Luckily, they have 3 more adults to supervise. He may never be in for
