  1. This is the first Paulding K-9 that the community pulled together for, to help raise funds to get a bullet proof/stab proof vest for. We (mostly via pcom) raised the money, and Vest N PDP helped us get him his vest. Seems like just yesterday. I remember those days...oh, Freebird, where are you!!!!! Thanks for your service, Grep. I hope you have a happy retirement!
  2. "BUMP" for a worthy cause ~
  3. How did they go up 2 times in 1 year? I thought they could only go up at "open enrollment" (your anniversary date) I currently have an individual plan through Coventry. They just went up (December 1) approx $30/month. Not too bad considering what I was expecting. Good Luck
  4. I finally tossed in the towel and called. I was on the phone with them over 2 hours. They gathered all my information and when they went to "submit", their system had a glitch. The poor lady then did it by paper, and asked me the same questions like 3 times (not exaggerating). They wanted EVERYONE in my households info, even though I was the only one needing insurance. They even wanted to know DH insurance, employer name, phone and contact person...but, didn't know why they needed to call. She said I'd know something by December 15 I'm currently on a individual policy expiring this m
  5. Just wondering, and don't have time to research it now. Does anyone know, did the family in the car happen to call 911 while all this was taking place? That is the FIRST thing I would do. As far as the motorcyclists...wow
  6. Honestly, dental insurance is GENERALLY not worth the cost. She needs to sit down and look at what she will be paying for it vs what it is worth. Example (this is what is offered through DH work): Coverage max is $750/year (1st year); $1000/year (2nd year) and $1500 (3rd year and then on) It's 100% preventative 80% restorative and 50% major (years 2 and on) So...you pay $520 per year and get 100% preventative (2 cleanings/exams and 1 set of xrays per year). That, alone would only cost approx $400 (high side) per year. So, you are already "in the hole, $120 year. I have
  7. you should have been back to normal foods the day after surgery. If you don't eat "normal" foods, your jaw muscles will begin to stiffin (which will cause a whole other issue). Day 3-4 is usually the worst. You should now be done w/ the ice (it should only be used the first 24 hours)....now should be moist heat. Put moist heat on it, get you several pieces of chewing gum and get your muscles moving. Also, you should be taking more ibuprofen than the prescription pain meds at this time (the Motrin helps w/ swelling).
  8. I have been using C and G Automotive for YEARS! Marty has always kept my vehicles in tip-top condition, for a reasonable price (now, I will admit, I haven't shopped prices, lately cause he's always been honest w/ me and I have found honesty is hard to find). They are located off County Farm Road, near Moses Middle School.
  9. Yes, I understand that....I just HATE it, lol! I like to be in control of my money and not end up with a "surprise" every June for $xx.xx I also like to earn interest on my money, not let the mortgage company. If it was my choice, I'd do conventional, but, didn't have a choice.
  10. I, personally, have had both loans. Wen we first bought, it was FHA. We had PMI (private mortgage insurance) that we hade to pay, as well as our taxes and insurance were escrowed in. I hated the PMI (I am not when to "give" my money away for nothing). That was a 30 year loan. A few years later, we re-financed, conventional. We did it for 15 years, no PMI or escrow and our payments were cheaper. Wewere disciplined enough to set aside, monthly, the money for our taxes and insurance (why let the mortgage company make money/interest on MY escrow money when I can?). PAyments NEVER went up,
  11. The news station sure did NOT volunteer that information, they made it sound as though it was done right a way (as in same day). First Question - isn't there a 72 hour reclaim time, in place? **AND** where was the owner the weekend? Wouldn't the shelter be your FIRST stop, to place a "lost" report???? Second question - since when do they "send" out animals for an eye infection? If they do send animals out to be looked at, why was the "partner" dog sent too (who had no issues) Third Question - on the news they showed a piece of paper that said "Do not euthanize"...was that the
  12. lol~ the dirt bike almost rear-ended me the other day, while I was turning in my drive....and there was a little car that FLEW (I mean, never even slowed down) through the stop sign (which normally serves as as a "slow and go"). Ahhhh the life of luxury on a now, well traveled "cut through" Sorry about the gas fumes...we've called AGL MANY times (as have passer-by-ers who have called 911)....they always say there is "no leak"
  13. Fireworks are on Colbert road. There is also a " kid" flying up/down Colbert Rd/bone circle on his dirt bike (with no lights)....IDIOT
  14. Is that in New Hope? We r outside and heard a mESS of sirens
  15. First, I want to say, it breaks my heart for what you are going through. I don't know what happened, and can assume all day. Have questions, but, frankly, it's none of my business. What is done is done. Your dad, will live forever, in you. Talk to him, he will hear. The only direction to take is the high road. Make your dad proud! Make something of yourself, speak out to families who are caught in the same position position your family had (ex. ONe parent/sibling makes/sells/does drugs; other does not)...teach them to "get away" because this is what can happen. We can all listen to
  16. My heart breaks for the handler and his family, both work and blood. There is a special bond that these partners form, one most of us will NEVER understand. Being he already has taken FULL responsibility for his retired partner, it seems to me, he would not intentionally cause harm. Why are we so quick to judge? Who are we to ASSume we KNOW the facts? I hope for the handlers sake and sanity this was nothing but a total HORRIBLE accident, and that many on here will be eating their words of hate and anger, and offer up their apologies, love and support.
  17. My child has used Highland Rivers, in the past. She now goes to FIS. She sees counselors twice a week.
  18. There is a place across from briar patch (the cut through road between business 6 and 120) that fixes them. I think it's called bebo sports?
  19. I know it's been said before, but, I'll say it again. Labs are AWESOME dogs. I have one, and he is so smart (and active).
  20. I shop SAMs usually once a month - 2 months. I get meat galore (usually @$200 worth), pre cook some (tacos, sloppy joes, etc), make meatloaf packs, cook chicken (clubbed) and bag everything. I go to Walmart once a month, or so (toiletries and misc stuff that aldi doesn't carry). I do aldi usually every other week. Honestly, I wastefully shop at aldi cause they r so cheap. I get alot of "junk" foods I have what my kids call a "panic room", where I stock up on a lot of things when they r on sale (Publix, Kroger) I freeze bread, also. Generally do them in one shot (Walmart, Sam's, Aldi,
  21. Well, the reason they (state/Feds) can't stop her is because she is smart enough to NOT be signing the returns as the preparer. She had me/us sign them. I didn't know any better, I just knew I was paying someone to take care of my stuff. The only reason I caught on is because I new it was happening to another store owner (state walked in her location). No, she was from Dallas (New hope area). I don't have a clue where she is now, though...yu know snakes, the slither from place to place....
  22. Ugggg, I would NEVER wish those few years of "cleaning up" on ANYONE!!!! I don't know for a fact that she is still doing taxes, however, I have heard she is. I wasn't the only one back then, and they (state) didn't stop her, so, I'm sure she's still doing it now. Once a scammer/cheater/liar; always a scammer/cheater/liar (jus' sayin')
  23. Well, I had a fraudulent accountant, who wasn't filing my company taxes, and doing fraud on our personal taxes (that's a whole other story). Anyway, the went on for approx 5 years...once we caught onto it, we tried to be honest and fix it. Let's just say the IRS don't give a rats a$$ about the honest people and they nailed our can's to the wall... we ended up owing approx $100,000! My that "accountant" rot in hell
  24. I have a TON of Frontline Plus, here at the house, and this year it stopped working . We are now using Revolution for the cats and Vectra 3d for the dogs.
  25. I have my iphone on a prepaid ATT and my son has his iphone on a prepaid w/ Tmobile. Now, you will not get all the **good** stuff (interenet, for example) with it. However, straight talk has a $45 month program that is also for iphone/interent. I don't know how it works...I'm not willing to spend $45 month (I'm cheap )
