  1. Let me apologize here to Go BLUE! I'm sorry. I really like you, and your posts. You're not a gnat at all. And I'm sorry.
  2. Sweetie, I'm far from being a "troll." Irritating little meddling creatures bother most folks with normal sensibilities. But I guess you wouldn't know that, right?
  3. I don't presume to know WHAT the truth is here. Time will tell. In the mean time, what does it harm to be cautious? Is this harming you somehow, that I think it's wise to ask questions and wait for the final verdict? You are such a little gnat! ***SWATSWAT***
  4. I would NEVER compromise the health of any of my beloved pets based on the opions of a vet tech, no matter how qualified she inagiined herself to be in her own head I think there is plenty of room for discussion here, but there's. No place for anyone who would deny that these important questions should be ASKED and ANSWERED.
  5. I didn't give you a negative for anything, but I see you went all nutso handing them out to me! And I didn't overlook anything. Yes, there may be valid reasons for the decline in efficacy. Who could argue otherwise? But the POINT is, if there is a decline in efficacy, it should be addressed, and not just swept under the rug or attributed to a "disgruntled employee." If the medicine is not any longer CONSISTENTLY protecting dogs from heart worm infestations, then 1) the company should let consumers know that (as they have been repeatedly asked by the FDA), and 2) they need to be working on
  6. From ONE of your links: "No adult heartworms were recovered from the eight dogs treated with Advantage Multi for Dogs (100% efficacy). One or more adult heartworm were recovered from seven dogs treated with Heartgard Plus, Interceptor Flavor Tabs, and Revolution (12.5% efficacy); more than six heartworms were recovered from one dog in each of these three groups. The geometric mean worm counts were 2.3, 2.4, and 2.3 worms per dog, resulting in efficacies compared to controls of 95.6%, 95.4%, and 95.5%, respectively. So what's your point?
  7. Why would ANYONE dispute a concern about the medicines we use to protect our pets? I mean seriously...why would you dispute it? As I said before, I hope they're all wrong. I think the medication works well--I have three dogs and have used ivermectin for years. BUT...if the Heart Guard formula has efficacy problems (or even if there are just questions about efficacy), why would it be wrong to let folks know this? And why not wait to see the resolution of the case against this one producer of the medication? What harm is there in asking questions and being cautious? From everythi
  8. Oooooooooooooooooh! I hope they're wrong. But you my dear, you find no problem with putting a blessing on something you know really very little about, outside of "it works for you" and "vets recommend it." I'll wait for the REAL data from the REAL scientists. Thanks.
  9. It will be interesting to see where this case goes. If you have been giving your dog Heartguard for 10-15 years or so and everything is all good, there's no surprise there. The problem the "disgruntled" employee tried to bring attention to was the loss of efficacy over time, NOT a complete failure of the medication. I have also used ivermectin to my pups over the last 6 years or so, but I have been using Iverhart, not Heartguard. This summer I am using Revolution, because it is a broad-spectrum anti-parasitic, so I take care of everything with one dose per month for everyone. I
  10. Sorry--the Ptimetime Nightline is at 10:00, not 9:00, if anyone was interested in watching.
  11. There is a Primetime special on tonight at 9:00 on ABC all about this case.
  12. Baby GaGa. The little MONSTER! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td7x-l7oxWg
  13. Oh wait! Forrest Gump said "Stupid is as stupid does." My bad. Same concept.
  14. No, but thanks for asking!! I'm amused by folks who think they can rag on folks by starting separate threads and never saying what it is directly that they are referring to. They crack me up! I love my avatar. I'm sorry it freaks you out!
  15. But I won't name the thread, because if I did, I'd look like an a$$. Instead, I'll start another thread and say nothing DIRECTLY about the other thread, lest I be called out for poking at that particular thread and the person who posted it. But if I start **THIS** thread and never mention the other thread directly, I can ridicule that other thread and the person who posted it and NEVER be called out for trashing the other person and their thread. Yep, I think that pretty much covers it.
  16. And it's nothing short of amusing that YOU would poke at anyone for meaningless posts on an Internet message board!
  17. Am I being equally racist when I say "Our President is African American" when I say "The majority of crimes comitted in Atlanta are perpetrated by young African American males." Oh, oh GB? I am pretty smart. Thanks for recognizing that.
  18. Which would be...at least a part of my point. If the daycare where your precious daughter is was the daycare where they failed for 2 1/2 hours to see that they were short one small child who subsequently died a horrific death by heat exhaustion in the daycare's van while the people you PAY EVERY WEEK to ensure the care of your child told you, "Oh! We're SO SORRY your child was left in the van and she died from the heat".... Uhm. NO. I would yank my kid out of that facility and get food stamps to feed us before I would EVER let a place that could lose my small child so easily ever keep
  19. How does this happen? My heart breaks for her parents and family. How does that happen? That daycare needs to just close up shop. They are ruined, and they should be. Link (ed note: This tragedy occurred in Clayton county and the link is to the 11alive story.)
  20. They don't teach apostrophes in third grade. But it sure is revealing that YOU think they do.
  21. :snicker: YOU SAID "GHETTO"! :snicker: I have NEVER associated the term "thug" with any race. I have ALWAYS associated it with folks who would rather use guns, knives, or whatever violent means available to avail innocent people of their belongings. For me? It has no racial component. I have most often associated the term "ghetto" with black inner-city folks. And indeed, in its 20th Century invocation, that's what it most often means. My, my. Apostrophes aren't a crime.
  22. What a coup! He had everyone believing he was a jackass when in fact, he was a dumbass!
