No. That's not what it indicated at all. What I meant was more to this, modified from the original Modest Proposal, penned by Johnathan Swift in 1729 as a satirical response to the Irish famine. Like the original, this is satirical, and not meant to be taken seriously. Even though satirical, it does still have a POINT: "A Modest Proposal For Preventing The Domestic Animals of Poor People in America From Being A Burden to Their Owners or Country, and For Making Them Beneficial to The Public By TabbyCat (2011) It is a melancholy object to those who walk through this great

And I am not asking for nor advocating Americans eating any of the above. And you should know it.

From the Humane Society: "Four million cats and dogs—about one every eight seconds—are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Often these animals are the offspring of cherished family pets." From the worldhunger.org website: "In 2010, 17.2 million households, 14.5 percent of households (approximately one in seven), were food insecure, the highest number ever recorded in the United States." And yet no one who advocates for equine slaughterhouses also advocates using this meat for food? Don't misunderstand me--I don't ever wish to eat any of them. But if we're going to talk ab
  6. She's ADORABLE!! And very, very talented. That said, she didn't do what she could have done tonight. But I'm betting she'll be safe. Couldn't you just hug her? Such a sweetheart!

  9. Do you mean her groups? She's still there. Isn't there one group left? Lakota Rain? Wow, Paula and Simon are really throwing jabs tonight!!
  10. Drew has a stunning voice, but she sounds exactly the same on Every. Single. Song.
  11. I DVR'd last week too, and haven't been able to watch it, either.
  12. I still cannot STAND Astro! Tonight is Michael Jackson night. MJ's kids are there, and when Astro started his rap version of "Black or White," they were looking at him like WTF?
  13. Congrats!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that SHE has RED HAIR!!
  14. I think I could eat a whole hickory smoked turkey all by myself. They are so yummy. My SIL always brought us one for Thanksgiving the last few years. They moved to CA, and I don't have a smoked turkey this year. Eat some for ME!!
  15. Seriously? That wasn't rude at all. I mean, I wasn't rude.
  16. I agree about the sage! That's why I was unable to give an exact amount. I do it by taste! My Grandma sometimes used biscuits, too, and I have, but if you don't have extra biscuits lying around, any bread works really (including croutons!), as long as it's not rye or pumpernickel or something like that.
  17. You are aware that they thwarted a major hacking attempt also in the last 24 hours, right? And that things like weather can impact the structures that deliver service? Just wondering. I mean, I get the frustration, but they aren't magic genies. ATTEMPTED to hack their systems, unsuccessfully from what I've read.
  18. Not a problem! I just didn't want to come off as if I was being derogatory. I wasn't. I just found a bit of humor in Mr. Vasquez' comment!
  19. I have U-verse, and mine is zippy! But...my VoIP phone is acting up.
  20. Uhhhmmm...I didn't mean nor indicate any disrespect to Hispanics, the Church, the religion, or the Virgin Mary. My comment addressed the last quote in the article i_have3dogs linked: "Today we celebrate the birth of the mother of all Mexicans," said an emotional Juan Vazquez, 28, a construction worker from Brooklyn. "She's from Mexico, but people from all over the world love her."
