Grand Jury considers indictment of Tony Stewart.
glassdogs replied to CitizenCain's topic in RECENT TOPICS
And, poof, there went the Ward family's civil suit against a multi-millionaire sports figure. Or, was it "puff"????? -
Yeah? You sure will get the attention of the survivors. Plus all those virgins in Heaven get their needs serviced, finally. I'm sure you drive exactly at the speed limit at all times just because that's just the right thing to do, don't ya? Or, do you watch out for speed cops because you don't want a ticket and to have to pay a fine and accumulate points and eventually lose your license? Enforcement and punishment are deterrents. Standing on the sidewalk and yelling at a speeding driver has about as much effect as B.Hussein Oblabber reading some Pablum off his telepromp

When Al Queada and ISIS respect borders, then maybe I would care.

It's for damn sure that no WASP is going to have any significant influence on the behavior of the Jihadists. In my view there are only two solutions...one is to get their attention as an ethnic group (see Hiroshima and Nagasaki as examples), with the promise that there are more big booms to come if they don't start playing nice. One big boom in, say, Baghdad, would likely cause the middle-of-the-roaders to begin to put pressure on the Jihadists to tone it down. If one boom doesn't work, another one, say, in Damascus, a week or so later might underline the issue for the more dense ones.

Then I'd suggest you head off to the nearest ammo store and buy a quantity of rounds equal to the number of Muslims in your immediate area.

I'm beginning to think the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim.

Probably the best part of the UGA athletic department is the PR office. They seem to be able to convince the sidewalk alumni that a barely above average team somehow is gonna contend for a National championship. Year after year after year. UGA could possibly be a 7-loss team this year, given the improvement in FL and KY's programs.

Methinks he needs a psychiatrist, not a cardiologist. He's totally off. If it didn't happen, he's delusional. If it did happen, he's crazy for complaining.

Were you dressed up as the Pillsbury Dough Boy?

Have you ever BEEN to Ferguson, MO? Do you know how big the blocks are there? Are you certain that someone a half-block away could hear what was being said? Quick, now, tell us the main street running East to West through there. And the major North-South one. WITHOUT using the internet. When I lived in StLouis, my business was located in the next town South of Ferguson. I drove through Ferguson many times, and even back then, it was pretty much a ghetto. So, I'm guessing you might feel right at home there, eh?

But that's all part of free speech... -
Ignore feature, as suggested by mod in another thread

I bet if there were a poll taken over who the most "ignored" poster is...(which would probably never be allowed in the first place)...the results wouldn't even be close. Number two would be a very distant second behind you-know-who. -
I have personally asked the proprietor of the site WHY he permits this to go on and on and on. His reply? (Paraphrased and condensed) "Free speech". I told him that free speech ought to end where his wallet starts, and that individual costs him money and visitors. But, like most every other topic, he's too busy "feeling good" to be bothered with facts.

Advice on purchase of a new washer and dryer
glassdogs replied to marvinthemartian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
One thing that is telling about SpeedQueen vs. the rest of the units out there is the warranty. SQ has a 3 year parts and labor warranty. Be sure and ask what the others have. Also, ask what the transmission gears are made of...steel, not nylon like everybody elses. -
Advice on purchase of a new washer and dryer
glassdogs replied to marvinthemartian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yeah. Speed Queen, We've had the washer about 4 years and the dryer about 2, both replacing Maytag junk. SQ is made for commercial laundromat service, It is made to last, and surprisingly quiet even though it is commercial grade. I found the best deals at dealers over toward the East side of Atlanta rather than the rural GA dealers, They tend to not have much to choose from and their prices are somewhat higher than the city dealers I think I saved $60 on the same dryer by going to Snellville vs Bowden/ -
Just about 69 years ago, we actually had a President with a pair of testicles. Anybody remember Harry S Truman and his decision to bomb Hiroshima and Nagasaki? He ended the war in the Pacific immediately and in Europe within a day or two. It would be a safe bet that the Germans got the message that "you're next...." Amazing, isn't it, how Japan and Germany have played nice with the rest of the world since then? If General Philip Sheridan were around today, do you think his quote would be "The only good Arab is a dead Arab"?

BirdMom provides an amazing service to the needy and battered women in this area with her thrift store operation. It felt good to help her out.

I happened to be in the area this afternoon, so I stopped for a look. No need to send any photos... The top pivot is (probably) shot, based on how loose it is. And usually the top failing is a result of the bottom one going first. There is only one place in Atlanta to get the parts needed, and I have an account there. The pivots come as a set, top and bottom. You have to pull the door down to change one, so might as well do both at the same time. I'll need to have some measurements of the pivots and the hole locations, etc. to be sure to get the right ones. There are at lea

Hey Rockysmom and Anyone Else from the New York Area

Isn't this the same stuff they give you just before a colonoscopy? -
Can you post a photo of the door pivots? Aluminum store front type door? There are several designs of the pivots, some parts are readily available. others are obsolete. If the parts are available, they are only $30-40 per set, as I remember. I'll provide the labor if I can find the pivots. (Assuming the door's "hinges" are pivots at the top and bottom and not hinges in the traditional sense of the word.) Edited to add: One door or two? Inswing or outswing or both in and out? As you face the door from the outside, which side are the pivots on? If the door swings in both direc

C'mon, folks. Get real. MB was 6'-4' and 298 lbs. If he had at least an IQ of, say, 75, don't you think Lou Satan or Les Miles would have been camped out on his front sidewalk? This is defensive lineman size. No college football scholarship interest, anywhere? That ought to tell you something.

Breaking news...Brown's juvenile record reveals he was previously charged with 2nd degree murder and was reputedly a member of the Crips, a street gang. Ah, yeah...a "gentle giant". http://youngcons.com/explosive-new-lawsuit-filed-in-st-louis-claims-michael-brown-was-a-suspect-for-second-degree/#lightbox/1/
