  1. Hell, that doesn't stop PCSO or Hiram or Dallas PD from writing speeding tickets. Does that mean the next time I get stopped, my defense is, "But, officer, I don't have the money for the fine, so don't write me a ticket?" Valbuena is an idiot. I edited out an expletive in front of the word idiot.
  2. I have one question: Why is it that Paulding County government refuses to enforce the unsightly premises ordinances? We have PCSO and Marshals driving all over the county every day, right in front of eyesores, and they do nothing. They refuse to take any action until a citizen complains, and in order to file a complaint, the complainant becomes part of the public record. I was told by King Jerry a number of years ago that this non-enforcement policy was set forth by the BOC and the Marshal/PCSO were told to NOT be proactive in this enforcement.
  3. Well, the simple solution in the D-31 race is to just vote for JK Rogers. He won't take any "gifts". However, that doesn't address the problem statewide. I am in favor of limits, but somehow $100 doesn't seem right. You can't go to a Braves, Falcons, Dawgs, or Tech game for that.
  4. I thought that title was held by ZC????
  5. Of course, as an old advertising guy, you'd never understand the concept of social networking and personal interaction. It's natural for you to think paid advertising is the only way into a voter's consciousness. But after about the second ad in the mailbox and another annoying banner ad flashing on their monitor, the typical voter's eyes glaze over and it's done with. Hence the shock value of the "warrants" and the "website". They weren't pretty, but they went to the top of the chatter charts. It remains to be seen if the results are what the perps planned. If JK pulls this low budge
  6. Fixed it for you.^^^^^^^^^^^ Well, Pat, I sincerely hope you are wrong again. As you usually are on political questions. I agree with you that his campaign finance model is a bit unconventional. I personally have spoken to JK about this and expressed the same concern about no $ that you point out. His conviction is that it's time for the people to take the government back from the special interests. I personally wouldn't undertake a campaign without financial backing, but JK is a bright guy and he has the cjhones to pull it off. Jason and I are old friends. I spoke to him Mond
  7. You know the old saying about laying around with dogs? All you get is fleas.... I think he's trying to stay above all the nonsense and discuss the problems and issues. I don't see him as trying to impose HIS solutions and ideas onto the citizens. Rather, I see him as identifying a few problems, asking US to discuss solutions and to present other things to the open forum for discussion and consensus. I think that idea is pretty novel. I know JK personally. He is a energetic, straightforward, open man. I don't for one second subscribe to Pubby's nonsensical theory that JK is in this
  8. As far as your educational ideas, I really have no comment. I think your vision is great, but the realities of the influence of the NEA and other activist groups mean that an overhaul of our failed educational system is unlikely. Any time soon. Ratting out the graft and corruption at the Gold Dome is a full time job. Legislators are only in session part time, the crime continues. Your idea of a business incubator has a lot of merit. I like it. Go to JKRoger's for Senate Facebook page and read a post by JK a week or so ago about small business and financing and the like. I belie
  9. I looked at most of the copies of the documents shown on the website. IF these are forgeries/photoshopped copies of court documents, whoever created them did a damn good job. And you would have to ask yourself why would anyone spend the time and effort to do such a thing for an elective office as insignificant as District 19 in GA. Now, if one were going to create a birth certificate for an alleged birth in Hawaii, now, THAT might take some talent and effort. If you believe these documents are bogus, you could always go to the courthouse and look through the files and get you
  10. Yeah, yeah. So how do you feel about beating baby seals to death with a club? What you are saying is important, and right. But it's really NOT all that important in the scheme of things as far as a state legislator is concerned. Tell me something positive you would propose to improve Paulding's economic situation. Or how you would work with the BOC. And try to stay away from all the radical proposals of death sentences and whatnot for child molesters. Those planks in your platform might draw some attention, but they have a Chinaman's chance of ever coming to the floor for a
  11. Let's just put things into a different perspective. I own and operate a glass company in a city about 100 miles away from Paulding. About half of my business volume is commercial, Meaning storefronts and windows in liquor stores, gas stations, convenience stores, motels, hotels, Dunkin Donuts, beauty salons, etc. A fairly large proportion of those types of businesses are owned/staffed by middle-Easterners, Believe me when I tell you that if a door glass replacement at Bubba's Bait Shop would cost $300, it should cost the same at Mr, Patel's Super 8 Motel. But a call fro
  12. I think what Mr. James is saying is that he's not trying to deny freedom to practice gayness. I think he's more referring to the Biblical definition of marriage between one man and one woman. However, that subject is really not germane to a local representative's race, anyway. District 19's popular opinion and our representative's vote/personal convictions are of little consequence. The likelihood of that question coming to a vote under the Gold Dome is pretty remote, As are pro-life/choice votes. No bearing at all on the problems faced in the District. He may or may not support b
  13. Ever since 9/11 I have made a conscious effort to NOT do business with that particular ethnicity. My donut consumption is way down.
  14. Please try to stay on topic, The question is: why would a person whose political career had been on long-term hiatus suddenly reappear on the scene? What connection is there between the Tsplost pot of gold boondoogle proposal and a certain individual deciding to reascend to a position of power? It's just too coincidental when you look at his background and the huge amounts of money in play that are dedicated to that specific type of construction.
  15. Well, it's been 16 years since the challenger has last campaigned for office. Why come out of the woodwork now?
  16. I read that the Tsplost 10 year fund for our area is estimated at $267,000,000. Not sure if that figure is totally accurate, but we'd all agree that it's going to be a whopping sum of money, right? So, I began to wonder just who stands to profit the most from something like this? And then it hit me. We have a candidate who reappears on the local political scene at the same time as a big money generating tax program gets on the ballot. And what's the connection, you ask? Two words. Road Construction. Who is it that has deep roots in the earth moving business and knows eve
  17. Libel suits are nearly impossible to win. And especially if the "victim" is already in the public eye, i.e.; a politician or entertainer. First of all, TRUTH is an absolute defense. Mug shots are pretty hard to deny. And as you just did, modifying the statement with a disclaimer like "I hear" or "I think" further dilutes the ability to sue and win. That little thermometer is about to pop right on out of Paulette's goose.
  18. Sorta makes one long for the day when our only issue was which lobbyist 'ol Glenn was boffing engaged in late night negotiations with.
  19. I'm pretty sure this new banner will do him more good than the previous one that was calling for the death penalty for child molesters. I'm looking forward to maybe meeting Mr James at the GOP picnic this Saturday. I gave him a pretty hard time a few weeks back over some of his comments, but he now appears to be the lesser of the evils.
  20. Heaven forbid that anyone would point out the trail of dung following some of his sacred cows.
  21. It sure sounds like you think ANOTHER layer of laws, rules, regulations, agencies, bureaucrats, and taxes is what we need. I got it. Moving forward. Progressive. All the way into bankruptcy. Check.
  22. I think that's the problem now. Too damn many legislators. The only time the American public is safe is when Congress (and the various legislatures) are in recess.
  23. I see another scenario. There are 3 factions out there. 1. Those who hate Heath and Carruth, both. Ergo, Rogers voters. 2. Those who hate Heath and support Carruth. 3. Those who support Heath and hate Carruth. I don't think there is much middle ground between the latter two groups. Meaning if my guy doesn't win, I'll support Rogers over the other one. I think there's no way that either Heath or Carruth wins 50% +1 in the first go around. So, if JK wins enough votes to be 2nd behind either of the other two, he'll win the run-off. The supporters of the 3rd place finis
