  1. Hell, if I had your money, I'd burn mine.
  2. We've had several PM's wanting to get part of the books. In a word, "NO". We are interested in making a charitable donation of all of them at one time. We have neither the time nor inclination to have people come and paw through the stacks and take one or two books. Partly it is for tax deduction reasons, and mostly because we don't have time to hang around home waiting on someone who wants something for free and then takes their sweet time to show up and spend lots of time digging around.
  3. My wife has accumulated LOTS of books that need to find a new home. I mean LOTS and LOTS of them. Topics are generally: decorating, cooking, health & wellness, dogs and dog training, and some political topics. In addition, I have some "Dummies-type" books on various software packages. We just want to donate these to a good cause. Not interested in having a yard sale and having people pick through them, etc. Ya'alls suggestions about who would accept the books and put the proceeds toward a good cause will be appreciated.
  4. I can set the ringtone for my contacts, but those contacts are a small percentage of the incoming calls. I may have to go back to two phones if I can't figure out a different ring tone for each line.
  5. We are talking about dropping ATT land line and going wireless only. Just wondering how many others have done the same? If you have gone wireless only, have you ever regretted it?
  6. I have an i-phone 4s. Have two different cell numbers. One is the primary number on the i-Phone, and the other number is forwarded to the same i-Phone. Saves having to carry two phones around and keep them charged, etc. Now, what I want to know is if there is a way to make the incoming calls from the forwarded number have a different ring tone? That secondary number is a business line, and I'd like to be able to know that the call is either personal or business, so that I could (maybe) answer differently. Any bright ideas on that?
  7. Thanks for the help. It is a malware that attaches itself to your browser. Called text-enhance. May show up as other names. Found it in Mozilla/tools/add-ons. Disabled and removed it and no more popups.
  8. I've noticed the last couple of days that there are a few words or phrases that are underlined in various posts. A mouse-over brings up a pop-up ad. Is this something new to line the Pubster's already overflowing pockets? Or have I gotten some really innovative virus?
  9. I do have an older Fuji Finepix camera, and it was alright. It's sitting on a shelf, unused, because I have pretty large hands and the camera was just too small to feel comfortable to me to use. It's a S5500, 6 megapixel. Still have the box and papers. Wanna buy it? I think the other thing I'd mention to you is that anything besides a Canon or Nikon brand is going to be very difficult to get serviced.
  10. Yeah, butterflies aren't attracted to horse manure.
  11. Stradial...me thinks you've been inhaling too many english bulldog exhaust fumes. All this waxing philosophical is eerie.
  12. Nah. Joe Flaccid is not going to take the Ravens anywhere except to the golf course after the regular season.
  13. I was thinking about the UN taking "control" of the internet.
  14. Are you still running that TRS-80 and that dot-matrix printer?
  15. I'm a whole lot more worried about the Broncos or Texans than the Patriots.
  16. But, but, .....you should be thankful they emptied the hospitals. Otherwise, you'd still be down at Millidgeville.
  17. It's pretty obvious that Eddie can say or do anything on this forum with total impunity. Anybody else would be on permanent vacation or bullet riddled.
  18. Could you point out a comment (any comment) of TP's that isn't absurd? There's 30-some thousand of them to pick from, surely you could find one ONE that isn't totally off the wall and ignorant?
  19. You might be able to photoshop your head out of your arse, but it will STILL be planted firmly in your rectal cavity.
  20. We've had USAA for 30+ years. I know the premium cost might be a few % higher than anywhere else. But when I want to talk to someone, there's an English speaking person on the other end of the phone, even at 0230 on a Sunday morning. Customer service does cost something to provide. I don't know much about the homeowner side of Allstate's business, but I can tell you that there is NO way I would ever consider Allstate for automobile insurance. We deal with insurance claims every day in our auto glass business. Allstate is the absolute worst to deal with both from a vendor and cust
  21. What schools are you interested in? I make fused glass jewelry in my kiln. I have all the SEC schools except Texas AM. I have necklace pendants and earring sets. No two are the same.
  22. I, too, thought she was/is a great doctor. She lived up toward Rome, and it seems to me that she said she was going to practice part-time at a clinic in that area. She has some small children and she was wanting to be a mom, not a doctor for a while.
  23. Laura, just wow. What a story. Happy day for you, I'm sure. Wonder when the resident atheist(s) will begin to spread their venom on this happiness?
  24. The Drudge Report. And speaking of phone apps....HEY, PUBBY???? When are you going to bring P.com into the 21st centrury?
  25. Well, the certain individual has diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain. When his "thought process" is altered by Drambuie or Moonshine, 99% of his drivel makes no sense nor is applicable to the topic at hand. Reading what he has to say is like having a third-grader tugging on your pants leg while you are trying to have a conversation with an adult. Some people should never be let near a keyboard....he's one. I'd wager that more P.com members have him on ignore than all the rest of the others on ignore in total.
