  1. You mean the hoodrats in the UK don't call each other bro ? Who knew?
  2. You are fuller of crap than grandma's Christmas goose. Guns, if displayed, may also frighten, warn, or deter. If used, they may also frighten, warn, deter, and even wound an assailant. Not every time a trigger is pulled does someone die. (Unless of course, I should happen to have YOU in my sights. ) Alcohol is ingested for one purpose, and one purpose only. To alter the feelings or mood of the person consuming it. I have seen lots of people die as a result of alcohol, not one as a result of a gunshot..
  3. I could snap a pic of one of my dog's nether regions for a lot less money.
  4. Ah, more of the fraudulent intellectual (non)superiority of the left. Go plug in your Chevy Volt or something.
  5. I KNEW we should have banned hunting knives way back when..... My link
  6. actually, better than when you use a machine in a store. the wireless reader does encrypt the data. at a local store, the machine is just hooked up to a POTS line.
  7. The transactions I tried were $300 each. Not a big problem because it is still my money, just trying to move it around, But the message from square was 'transaction denied".. so, did I do something wrong in inputting the numbers and amount or what? I know it hit the bank where the money is, but no indication anywhere in square or at the other bank that anything happened.
  8. I finally got around to getting "Square" downloaded to my phone. Thought I'd test it out, so I manually input the numbers from one of my debit cards into the phone, intending to transfer money from one account to another. As soon as I authorized the card, I got a "transaction denied" message. So, I tried inputting the number again, and got the same message. The source account had about $20K in it, so it wasn't insufficient funds. That account's online statement this morning shows 2 debits against it for my attempts, but nowhere can I find in Square's dashboard that the transactions a
  9. I'd rather have a Browning HiPower than anything anybody has mentioned in this thread. I have a 9mm brushed stainless and a LOT of clips. Not sure what the detail of the story was, but I remember being counseled by my brother who is a FFL holder and gun trader/collector that I should not buy a Glock. Something about the safety?
  10. Ah, the DNC will never want to ban fruits, They'd lose half their constituency.
  11. Then, don't. Anyone who disagrees with TGG about politics is wasting bandwidth, anyway.
  12. And, surprisingly, neither did the other resident troll.
  13. I have a king waterbed that you can have if you will come get it. I just took it down two days ago. I loved it but the spousal unit not so much.
  14. Sorry. I'd die of thirst before I'd ever drink another swallow of that nasty stuff. I tried it one time and spit it right out. Yuck!!!
  15. That's funny. I told her (Jennifer) that I was going to compliment them on Pcom. She said she never gets on the site because she can't handle all the drama.
  16. I had a need to rent a truck for the day. Went to the big "B" rental place on Merchants Dr., across from the Huddle House. They are in the same building with a hardware store. It was the most hassle-free, easy vehicle rental I have ever done. These people are delightful to deal with and I couldn't recommend them any more highly. If you are ever in need of a rental truck, give these folks a try.
  17. I was reading an article yesterday on The DrudgeReport about Detroit city schools. Only 7% of 8th graders can read at or above their grade level. Only 4% of 8th graders can do math at or above their grade level. Smarter? Eh, probably not.
  18. Maybe I think too much like a businessman, I don't know? But as someone who purchases advertising, I look at the demographics of the readers or viewers of the magazine/station/site. If the audience is not a good match to what I'm selling, I don't go there with my ad dollars. I have to wonder how many other businesses have reviewed pCom as a potential advertising medium and made other choices after reading all the drivel and nonsense he spews. With 37,000 or so posts, he singlehandedly has lowered the collective IQ of the whole site by 10 points or so.
  19. In reading reviews about Square, there are a LOT of complaints about them holding the customers money and not depositing it in the bank account. It has to do with large transactions, apparently. I read about one guy that had $40K tied up, So, InTheKnow, what's the size of your average sale? I'm thinking my average might be over $400. Apparently Square works fine for haircuts and other small tickets.
  20. Ummmm? When do you NOT feel all silly and goofy? I've known you 15 years and I've never seen a serious moment out of you.
  21. Seems like all I do is ask phone related questions...but that is what is going on with me now. There is an app, "Square", that allows you to process credit cards anywhere, any time. Any of ya'll use that or anything like it?
