I work our food booth for our church at the fair. Last night was a great fair night, so many babies for the baby contest!! Things did get ugly on Friday night, but the cops got things under control it seems. No worries, except that due to the weather they had to close one of the parking lots on Monday and it was closed when i got there Tuesday but by the looks of the crowd they must have reopened it!! Come visit us at the Lighthouse Food Booth!!

I see that the tire I complained about is now gone ! Thanks Corp Gurley for letting us know about the Volunteer program. It would be nice to have that type of information distributed around the county so that others can find out about it, just not on paulding.com. Oh, and I do recycle and take my own recycling all the way to the county landfill area. We also pick up the recycling from our church.

I know that I can't fix this, but just making people more aware of cleaning up our county and doing our part to help in the community can't hurt.

I am sure there is no money in the county budget for cleaning streets, or cutting grass. But the people in the jail could do some of the work. Couldn't they?

I have been wondering who is responsible for cleaning up some of these main roads in PC. I have been watching the same tire sit at the intersection of Business 6 and Dallas Highway for so long. Do they not have the prisioners pick up the streets or trash anymore? We are always cleaning up trash that people throw out in front of my house. I see things like sofas, recliners and stuff just dumped on the side of the road and it make me sick. The trash at the intesections where people throw their cigarette butts is just gross. She also represented Hiram in the Christmas parade along with several other wonderful young ladies who also won!

Most of the local pageants like this are held as fundraisers for specific charities. Below is the blurb about the upcoming Miss Paulding County Pageant. The people that I have worked with in the Miss Hiram Pageant and Miss Paulding County Pageant have always been very upfront and pleasant to work with. If you are so concerned, then ask them. The girls/ladies that win these titles are proud to represent Paulding County and their cities thru charitable functions like Special Olympics and Relay for Life. My daughter was Teen Miss Hiram in 2008. This pageant is on the level. If you know anything about pageants then you know that a Natural Pageant is one where they do not want the contestants to use the "GLITZ" look. Yes, even newborns compete it pageants. Most pageants in this area are held at either the Dallas Theater or Chattahoochee Tech. Hiram does not have a "theater" to host such an event unless you elect to see if one of high schools will let you use their theater.
