  1. What a sweet baby, How much did she weigh?
  2. I saw that on the news. So sad...Kids shooting babies...Unreal...............
  3. I was joking around.......Well except for wanting to throw the scale out
  4. I weigh in first thing in the morning. I always weigh more at night for some reason and it ticks me off where I want to throw my scale out the window.
  5. Not really affecting me but I am sad for the others. They do have contracts to save money. Cheaper to cut back on the troops and hire contractors to do the job. I worked on base at a squadron last year. We only had one YN(SAILOR) in the admin dept, the rest were contractors doing all of the work. The Navy never cut back on the TA, but all of the other branches did. I don't (hope) it affected any of them, since it is now back. They should be able to take the next class which would be starting soon. fingers crossed. As for the furloughs that will be starting soon. With all of the
  6. So you agree with cuts that hurt the military....NICE
  7. That is great! We are getting ready to retire soon. No way can you live on that amount...Not to mention it just puts you in a higher tax bracket...Wish I was going to live in a state that doesn't tax military pensions....@@ at GA................ My main point to this thread was that the Sequestration has hurt the military....Will be interesting to see what happens when the Furloughs start next month.
  8. Here in MD they do offer events and lower the cost for the single E-6 and below...On base........Some of them I don't know how they make it. They don't have a galley on base/so they need to watch their spending money....And you really need a car at this location. All they have is McDonalds and Subway on the base....Commissary is a bit of a hike from the barracks.
  9. Cutting the TA is huge....Hopefully it the 911 GI bill stays put......................... Pensacola is a low cost area for housing unlike many of the other highcost especially Navy locations.............
  10. BL I don't know what to say other than here is a big (((((((((HUG))))))))) Hope you find some peace soon.................
  11. I guess you missed my point about the Sequestration. The military isn't getting Friday off/the GS are with no pay. The ones that you know are they lower ranking military by any chance?
  12. A must read......Saw this on Facebook and wanted to share. It’s not an easy time to be in a military family. On top of the deployments that still take our troops away, it seems like every week the existence of another program our community relies upon is threatened. Recently we learned that Tuition Assistance, which pays for active duty troops to attend college classes — a benefit that swayed many military families into decisions to re-enlist— has been discontinued. Two weeks prior, sequestration was allowed to go through, calling for nearly $500 billion in defense cuts during the next
  13. LOL true story. Last year at my last job, we had a TAD trip going over to Scotland. One of the servicemembers was from Scotland in the Royal Airforce stationed at our squadron. He was the perfect pick to get one of the rental cars. He was used to a stick and driving on the wrong side of the road. Well wouldn't you know it, he messed up and put gas instead of diesel in the car. Damage was about 300 bucks that he had to shell out of his own pocket. Bummer was if he was an American, he would be able to a GOVT Credit Card. Foreign Nationals aren't allowed to have one. If he had a GOVT Car
  14. I go into JC Penney still...But only reason being is that they are only a mile or so from my house. I haven't ordered anything from them for years. I do miss the $10 coupons they use to mail. The prices do seem a little cheaper...Def not as much selection as they had before. Only takes me minutes to go thru the clothes. Me too....But its over 30 miles from my house.....Sigh.....................
  15. I was told by agents in GA that they cant list the sq footage on the flyers. When you go into Zillow its from the tax records which many times is wrong but at least you can get an idea. I did a quick search and found this...Pretty much what I was told, but it was from a few years ago and I have been out of state for almost 4. "In Georgia (at least in the Atlanta metro area), we are prohibited by our 2 multiple listing services (FMLS & MLS) from quoting square footage in the listing. In addition, brokers typically frown or discourage their use on any marketing materials. There are
  16. Dude, I do tons of walking, I'm just really lazy when it comes to lifting weights. Could you PM me a plan or better yet post it here for all to see? I'm in my mid 40's 5'4 130lbs.....I did walk 75 minutes today!!!!!!!! I split it up into 2 different walks.
  17. See the keyword is trying. If the rent is tooooo much no one will rent it. What does Zillow say the rent should be? If my renter says something is wrong with the house I fix it. It is my house so why wouldn't I want to fix any problems that come up. Shoot I even have Trugreen come out and spray for weeds. Just because I don't live there, I still want my house to stay looking nice.
  18. What the agent sends you tells the amount. When you do a search on your own, it doesn't unless you pull it up on Zillow. Examples http://www.georgiamlspro.com/public/getreport.cfm?ID=638075&AgentID=BOLTONMARCIA http://www.metrobrokers.com/ListingResults?PageIndex=2&SortExpression=Price+Desc&IsSingleFamily=True&IsMultiFamily=True&IsLot=True&IsCondo=True&IsAcreage=True&Subdivision=summergrove&ListingSearchID=5ef6ee74-9a90-e211-b526-0015c5e6cb62&IsForeclosure=False&IsMetro=False&PetsAllowed=False&ListingCategory=1
  19. No kidding. I ck'd on Zillow and I could be getting 40 dollars extra a month for the rent that I'm charging. For the ones on here that are saying that I am greedy for charging more than what my mortgage is, the only reason that is possible is because I put down a large deposit when I bought. Did they ever think about how much money my house has lost in value? Most of us are renting because if we sold our house we would lose sooooo much money. Shoot if I re-financed again...rates are 3% I would be getting even (EXTRA)more money each month..... The extra money that I make gets set aside
  20. Maybe she can start cooking brown rice.
  21. Good luck. I cant do low carb...I guess it has something to do with my blood sugar issues. I get really light-headed. I have to eat carbs with proteins to feel my best. Best diet for me is to not pig out and just exercise everyday....That way I don't think about eating all of the time and be miserable. When I tell myself I am on a diet I all I want to do is eat. Last diet I tried was the one where you only eat 500 cal a day and then eat whatever you want the next day without pigging out. 500 just wasn't cutting it for me.
  22. P-3's are a thing of the past P-8 and helos and E-2D where I worked. Hubby started off on the big helos, then he went to C-130, and F-18. You never got to choose your orders???? WOW Many people retire and stay on here as DOD....Working at the same location...... Most of the dets at my last squadron, was for training not to fix aircraft.................
  23. WOW, That is what DH did while on Shoreduty. Actually his sea duty ended a little early in Spain due to his squadron de-commission. Came back to Norfolk, and he was on Instructor duty from 93-97, came to Atlanta on sea duty from 97-2001. Life didn't seem that bad under Bill Clinton for us............... It's all in who you know and how you pick your orders. Worst part about the Navy to me is most of the bases are in highcost areas...DH has been in 21 years active 25 for pay and has only been on 1 full 8 month cruise the other he left early due to a PCS move. He went on a ship a few ti
