  1. Credit Union or AAA have buying services. Check your auto insurance provider. Progressive has a car buying service.
  2. Ruth's Chris is great. Aspens is good. The Steakhouse in Rockmart left us disappointed both times we've been but that is just my experience. Dogwood Terrace in Acworth is good. If you like French food, the Blue Brick in Villa Rica is great. If you're willing to travel to Atlanta, Babbett's Cafe is great, Bones is exceptional, and Capital Bar and Grill is super. Mortons is on the Super List too. The best steak I've had around here is at Hal's in Atlanta but it's reservations only.
  3. Since I went back to work a few years ago we now use a tax person but it's a husband/wife team in Kennesaw. Not happy with them because they charged us $500 this year. Won't be using them anymore.
  4. I like the airport! I think it is a great idea and don't understand why anyone would be opposed to it. I think Surepip's lawsuit was already settled so I don't know why it is even part of this thread.
  5. American manufacturing is expanding again and adding jobs. 400,000 American manufacturing jobs have been added since 2010. My link
  6. As the American automakers see rising sales because people are feeling better about things, they are hiring more and more people. Let's hope the trend continues and Great Recession is a bad memory. My link
  7. As things continue to improve, the consumer confidence is going up. The numbers will vacillate a good bit and even look bad for a while as things get better, but things have been improving for a while. My link
  8. Just to play the Devil's Advocate, how much greater could those scores have been if the studies are right?
  9. Except that these studies show the same thing over and over. It's not slanting the study when the evidence is consistently showing the same thing.
  10. Some parent needs to tell them that accompanying their child to the prom dinner is inviting ridicule for the kid forever. Major no-no. Not in a million years would it be a good idea for a parent to have dinner in the same place as the teens on their prom.
  11. Recent studies shows that when parents spank their children, the IQ of the kids are lower than kids who are not spanked. And that is worldwide. My Link Another study shows that spanking kids makes them more aggressive than kids who are not spanked. My Link

"Lesser" offenses is always a relative term. There is no way someone can know all the details of what happens with "other kids" and their situation because it will only be hearsay since the school won't publish the information about the cases.

Good God Almighty. Is this thread still going on? The kids did something stupid. Good kids do dumb things. Mean kids do dumb things. Smart kids do dumb things. Troubled kids do dumb things. We've all done dumb things. Parents cannot be blamed for stupid decisions. That is why it is called personal responsibility. Stop blaming it all on the parents because I am certain some of the parents did a good job with their children. Some parents didn't do such a good job and they need to realize they might have screwed up. The kids need to learn the hard lesson. The "good old
  14. Super Tuesday was last week. It won't do much good now. If he gets the nomination, I'm sure people will be begging you to put out a Newt sign but really it is about 6 weeks late. Best thing to do is contact the national campaign. My Link
  15. Findley's Meats on Hwy 41 in Acworth. They can order the fresh seafood and have it for you when you want it. Worth the drive. My Link
  16. I just want to Robo Calls to stop. My little boys are as sick of the phone ringing as I am.
  17. We deliver their books but they won't deliver ours? Postmen are refusing to deliver New Testaments because they say it violates their religious law and their personal convictions. The US State Department says this about it. My Link to News Article My Link to State Department Report
  18. Bigotry needs to be confronted publicly, IMHO. If we don't, everyone thinks bigotry is perfectly fine. Segregation was the same way and people were afraid to stand up and stand together to confront it.
  19. My boys think they are too old to enjoy this one but I'm dragging them out to see it anyway. Anyone else? My Link
  20. It's a common idiom of speech. I've never minded it because I understand that we do make more of scene than boys do at times. But you do have a point. So wrong on so many levels. It's "she" BTW. But whatever.
  21. Ask your insurance adjuster.
  22. Those pictures all over the news every night. If you've not seen pictures of "families" reunited, you're not paying attention. I assume by "familes" you meant a guy and a lady. The pictures of the first two homosexual couples are important because they happened to be the first of these "families" that you don't seem to think are real "families."
  23. Ok. I thought the picture was about the happiness the Marine had when he returned home to his family after being away and fighting for the rights of all Americans, and protecting us from the tyranny of the evil in the world that wants to impose a fascism on u (post 19). It just so happens to be the first public picture of a Marine embracing his gay lover after the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell (post 1). Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that is picture's message. Converse is a homophobe and I've called him on it in the past and did it here, too. If I've missed the meaning of the picture, please
  24. You never said anything about Marines hugging their kids or wife. But you did when a Marine kissed his beau. Just admit that you're homophobic. All of us have problems and you're a it bigoted towards gays. No big deal. But whatever. Everyone sees you responded as you did and knows where you are. Night. Night.
