  1. Never been around Chattanooga but all I can say is that I spent a lot of days in the beaverponds around Hiram and I have walked almost every part of paulding forest and have fished here all of my life and have never seen a cottonmouth. I have seen water snakes that people called cottonmouths. Go below Macon and even parts of West Point and you will see some for real.
  2. We have timber rattlers in the communities of Yorkville, Burnt Hickory, Union and roughly a line north of pumpkinvine creek. The entire county has Copperheads and some rather large ones for some reason. Cottonmouths, aka water mocasins do not live this far north.
  3. "We are not Dudes...we are your parents!"
  4. Do away with the EIT. Also, I wish it was illegal for employers to withhold and everyone recieved thier full check and on April 15th had to cut a check payable to the IRS. Most people have no idea how much tax they pay! If we did this there would be a revolt in one year!
  5. turkey vultures a.k.a buzzards a.k.a. Alabama bald eagle
  6. Congratulations to those boys, their parents, and to their coaches!
  7. Be sure not to pay anything upfront and only when complete. The last 10% of the job takes 90% of the time and all of the money
  8. I have seen that Wellstar hired HKS Architects for thier new Paulding Building. Does anyone know the General Contractor that was selected?
  9. Ask yourself how quick could I could be replaced and at what cost. That is the way the employer will look at it.
  10. I have it and it is a phobia. Has nothing to do with the pain or prick but more with a bad experience. Should probably seek professional help.
  11. How are the places that are staying open washing thier cooking utensils/pans?
  12. Surely they wouldn't have "valued engineered" the flashing and caulking?
  13. They will only be serving alcohol to the "back row Baptists" so they should be okay.
  14. Love R&R! Simple food , priced right. They are moving to the Cotton Gin place. Everytime I have had the scallops they are huge, sweet, and cooked just right. Fresh oysters are great too.
  15. Speaking of... Cobb's new courthouse was 230,000 sf at $57,000,000.00 or about $247.82 per sf. I wonder how that compares to ours?
  16. What's the status of the reservoir? Why did they pick that location? It seems to be one of the smaller watersheds in the county.
  17. Hopefully the current administration will learn to get away from design/build and go back to design/BID, Build. They were played like a fiddle!
  18. We should keep bitching about it, voting every one out of office that was involved so that the next time something similar comes up the phrase..."remember all of that bitchin' about the courthouse and the results?"...
  19. I noticed the other day that construction had started. What was the new price?
  20. The interior finishes are a joke. Lower end products. Audit should have Compared sf cost to other similar facilities and then compare finishes and design. Here's a funny play I wrote: Commissioner: " we need a new courthouse" design/build: " It'll cost $65 million" Commissioner: "Are you sure" design/build: "yep" Commissioner: "OK"
  21. Just drive down to an abandoned subdivision and put it next to the washer and dryer and on top of the mattress.
  22. When will the General contractor present thier "new number" to the board?
