  1. I think that the fact that Casey was (according to the prosecution's story) engaging in felony child abuse would have precluded the possibility of lesser charges like manslaughter. That would have still been a capital murder case if she chloroformed/drugged Caylee and taped her mouth shut. The prosecution went for the whole enchilada. They didn't get beans!
  2. I know. Rhett's response to Scarlett was a result of Scarlett's comment - Where will I go? What will I do? Similar to what you were saying about Casey. It was meant to be a light-hearted reference.
  3. You make some excellent points. I think though, that you give the general population too much credit. I DON'T think that she will be shunned by ALL of society and young people will know that cameras will be around Casey wherever she goes. Some people just want to be around the famous or the infamous - With some people it doesn't matter. Case in point - There are people on death row who, if they are attractive will get hundreds of marriage proposals! And Casey was found not guilty. She will have plenty of party-friends! If she has money from selling -- anything -- she'll be just that much
  4. Absolutely right! However, I think that it was probably like this - Caylee was starting to tell stories out of school on Casey. She was just getting old enough to be able to articulate these things to Granny Cindy. So that Caylee would not articulate Casey's trysts and drug buys/usage, Casey would drug her out of consciousness and tape her mouth shut. She may have used chloroform or Benydryl or some other form of over the counter medication designed to induce sleep. The tape was for if she woke up. So in a drugged out state, Casey taped little Caylee's mouth and accidentally covered her n
  5. Well, yeah - you couldn't cloroform your kid into blackiing out and call it an "accident" when she dies from oxygen deprivation. I think that "not guilty" being the final verdict is difficult for people to wrap their brains around. So many people were absolutely certain of her guilt and SURE that she would get the death penalty.
  6. I see. To what, then, do you credit the jury's decision? Realize that you'll have to provide an answer that will not link back to the defense team's strategy if you consider them incompetent. Otherwise, you'd have to consider that they did a textbook-perfect job of defending their client and that they realized the best possible outcome for her given the facts of the case. BTW, I did watch some of the trial. You'll notice that I left off the names of the posters who misjudged the defense attorneys. The point is that there's a social dynamic at work where people come to a conclusion - a
  7. HR - have you tried putting little limbs, etc around the trap so that it didn't look so much like a trap? Maybe uncooked fish scraps (you might could get those from Publix or a sushi place) for bait? The key is "don't feed them while you're trying to trap them" - water, either. Put both food and water into the trap. Camoflage it. That should do it.
  8. Okay - So I went back and looked at ALL of the people who said that the defense team was a screw-up, didn't know what they were doing, were incompetent, etc. There's a social dynamic at work for people on PCOM to have looked at this and come to SUCH a different conclusion than the jurors who were there. Is it possible that the PCOMMERS did not have an open mind and heard what they wanted to hear? They colored the defense as "incompetent" because they had already decided on the guilt of Casey before the trial even started? Read the remarks about the defense team. This doesn't eve
  9. How long will it be before we see the first "Bella Vita" Merchandise?
  10. Frankly my dear - I don't give a damn.
  11. In reality, "justice" is an illusion. That is the horror of murder - It can't be undone or made right. Casey had her day in court. She faced the charges and was judged by a jury of her peers. Now, this did not seem to be a case of jury nullification. This was the system at work for all to see. But it was like watching sausage made from the last oink to the grocer's meat case. Some phases of this made you want to throw up! There is only the system, which works in an overall sense, but in specific cases - not so much. This is the way that it is in the real world as opposed to th
  12. Beautifully stated, Thoughts! I wonder if those people calling the defense attorneys, "idiots" before the verdict are calling them brilliant now?
  13. Thanks for the video, CC! I'm glad that she's better!
  14. What was the deal this year with fireworks on the third? The day of celebration is the fourth. People actually started shooting them off on the second. This isn't going to be like XMAS is it??? Aren't home-done fireworks illegal?
  15. Really Good Prices! And really good meat!
  16. One of the problems here is that the MIL to-be overdrew her account. She hadn't established the kind of account with her prospective DIL that would allow her to make these suggestions. The MIL's relationship is with her step-son. THAT is where she should have aimed her jabs. Unless -- Unless the purpose of her email was to run off the girl and end the relationship......
  17. With my first wife (the ex-wife from the pits of hell), I liked THEM better than I did HER!!
  18. I think that the daughter should have written the potentially future MIL back with a lecture on being a proper host/hostess. Like this: A good hostess is never rude to her guests by demanding that they wake up with the rest of the household. They may have been weary from their journey or otherwise had a reason to require more sleep. A gracious hostess is accomodating to her guests A gracious hostess will serve food that her guests will enjoy, not subject them to eating whatever it is that pleases HER, the hostess. A gracious hostess will never denigrate the soc
  19. Very smart, Rightway Restoration! Nice 4th of July Holiday advertisement! Enjoy your holiday, as well!
  20. I think that surely the prosecution could have determined what-all that person (who looked up chloroform) also did at the computer during that session. However, the proper time for introduction of that evidence would have been upon recall of the witness, not after the defense had rested its case. Introduction of this evidence would be a justifiable reason for appeal, I think. The prosecution has had some screw-ups here, I think. It looks like they had a review and discovered that Cindi Anthony's testimony had not been refuted or properly challenged.
  21. Nope - there's wooden ones, plastic ones and inflatable ones. Of the wooden ones, there's the ones that have no paint left on them and those in pristine condition. There's also the ones that have been chewed on by the family dog and those that have been repainted in neon colors. Some people want to sell them for cash, other people just want to get them out of the house because they remind them of someone - but they don't want to just throw them away if someone could use them.
  22. Car commercials small-type disclaimers - They flash them up there for about three seconds and they contain about 300 words. There's no way that any human could read that fast!
