Do you stand for our veterans? or the kneelers?
CreativeOne replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
^ reminds me of a quote from a movie which rings to this discussion (and the movie wasn't all that great). America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You gotta want it bad, 'cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country can't just be a flag; the symbol also has to be one of -

If you like Trump you're going to love this guy.

Just proves how Alabama votes -- no consideration for their future and along status quo. Best candidate? Really? Sanctions from the bench, reprisals/suspensions on his stances when he doesn't comply with law, moving to the right place to support anything, any future? Really? I agree, he will give many a headache and not be in any position to make any progress. -

Why can't you support both? They are not in conflict with each other for support. -

Friends To The Forlorn Pitbull Rescue Helps out Paulding’s pets
CreativeOne replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Friends To The Forlorn Pitbull Rescue is a great rescue group (and they do rescue more than just Pitbulls)!! Glad to see they are able to bring this service back again and expand it to all of Paulding. Best wishes to them and to all who take advantage of this wonderful deal! -
No I don't think you are old-fashioned, just stuck with what you were raised with. The "white" bridal dress didn't come into play until Queen Victoria in the late 1800's. Most just wore what they wore, many colors applied. In the 1920's, 30's, 40's, most brides just wore a nice dress but really wasn't the "white" we think of today the 1950's to present day really brought on the white formal dress most think of for a bride. I think she should dress as she wants. If she has a theme, stay with it. It is only a couple of hour of ceremony and initial celebration, she needs to be who she t

Thanks for the warning. I learned a long time ago not to say yes or yeh or anything else. Was a bad habit to say "yes" when asked if it was me (my name said by caller) they were talking to - never new what I was agreeing to. Good lesson to continue to pass along. Thanks again for the warning/notice to be aware.

Sounds like something great to do one day!

^ Agree!! Friday morning's forecast looked like it was going to go directly overhead but changes over the weekend and yesterday pulled it farther south Almost 5" of rain and some downed limbs (and no power outage which I'm thrilled with) but no major impacts here. Thoughts to all my friends and colleagues in Florida as they recover ......

Hope it works out for you and is minimal .....:::thoughts:::: and thoughts for MsSophie (?) & other Floridians residents or those with homes - Hoping easterly is the direction of Irma and Jose too. Best wishes ..... Keep us updated on how things are going ....

Already announced it -- Irma is a CAT 5, 175+ mph winds. They are saying it is still growing ... Prediction is still days out from the US, still unknown if it will track into the Gulf or bounce up the eastern coast line. Will be an impact no matter the direction.

If they come around again, tell them to contact Paulding Animal Control - 770-445-1511. Have them fill out a lost report and check in at the Shelter as they can, it will open today at 2pm. I'll keep an eye out and pass along. Good luck to them. I hope they find their dog very soon.

One of the trajectories was straight into New York City ...... Talking about impact=>WOW!

Depends. This storm wasn't supposed to be more than a higher end cat 1. Hours before landfall, rose to 2, then 3 then cat 4 before hitting. Also, other weather conditions caused the storm to churn right on shore, then spin a little off shore and hit again. Totally unpredictable == you don't predict 55+ inches of rain. Can't blame anyone on this one .... it is what it is and we'll have to figure out support == so many just didn't get this one, it was just unpredictable in a lot of ways..... SO ..... I've ridden through Tropical Storms and Cat 1 Hurricane (normal if you can consider the
