Just got home a little while ago and finished up some "work" items. I've also started sorting a bit of the laundry and got a load going. Will prep dinner in a bit, nothing fancy but it will be edible. Now I'm going to have a little something to nibble on and try to relax for a little while - I'm worn out.

we no longer put up a big tree but have one we have used for the last couple of year, we are just not major "decorators" -- put up a few decorations today, the rest this weekend. sounds like you have found a new reason "for the season" which I'm thrilled about -- life happens and we need to make the best of what we have and find reasons to celebrate, your family has found them for you. I had to do that with a tree (not the cats) one year I hear you can: 1. Wrap the trunk in aluminum foil, even placing some under the skirt. Another alternative is 2-sided tape. 2. Use the pennies in the can or squirt gun -- but of course you have to be around when they try to climb. Don't know what else to tell you. The years we did have a tree & cats, we always made sure the low branches had non-breakable ornaments so there wouldn't be as much "damage". Although I don't have a huge meal planned for tomorrow (I should have it ready by noon, a little prep before serving for us), I thought I'd take a bit of a breather tonight just because Having Leftover Lasagna & Salad, got some fruit or jello for a bit of dessert. What are you doing for tonight's dinner or are you already "heavy" into the preparations for tomorrow?
