Hey Tranquility!! Gotta be careful with AARP too. It's a shame but they're in it for the $ as so many others are. Good lucK TP, wish I could help but I can't. I think a lot of what you should get depends on what medications you are taking. As we all know though, that can change frequently.

Anyone started a Lunch thread for this week?
Cathyhelms replied to rhonda trott's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Just not Wednesday please I can't do lunch and coffee on the same day. -
I don't think a woman should get alimony, period. Doesn't matter how many affairs either one of them had. I believe everything should be divided equally, that is her just reward for her part in the marriage. 50/50 during and after.

Paulding Fine Arts has a large and great group of people. I think you might find some like minded people there.

Shan, so you think 55 is OLD, huh?? (You are in so much trouble!!)

Funny I wasn't very concerned about the lack of water pressure until it got to almost a trickle. It had been slow since we built the house in 1993, but now that I can actually take a shower and run the dishwasher at the same time, I will never again let the water pressure go unattended.

We had a serious water pressure problem about 6 months ago. GLT Plumbing got us up and running with even better water pressure than we ever had the same day we called. I highly recommend them. They replaced my mom's water heater and fixed a slew of problems with pipes in her 30 year old home. I hope I never have to find another plumbing company, they are the best (and we've used quite a few over the years).

I have plenty to share but you have to come dig it up. Now since you are new to the area, do you have any idea where Yorkville is?? BTW, I didn't pay for any of mine either. It was strung out in a yard in one of the houses we rented and I dug up several stray pieces. That stuff spreads quickly, not as fast as Kudzu but we have at least 60 feet of it about 8 inches wide. You're welcome to all you want.

Yep, Illinois roads especially around the Chicago area are full of potholes

Roofers-HVAC guys question about ridge vents and attic fans
Cathyhelms replied to Cathyhelms's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thank you Guard Dad. I think HVAC guys should really understand this. The roofers are split, everywhere I've looked. So we're going to leave them out and watch what happens. If the moisture (which I'm most concerned about) builds up, we'll put some new ones back in. I'll watch it closely for the next year or so. -
So were having our roof replaced. The house is 15 years old, we have a ridge vent, two gable vents on the front of the house and two electric attic fans on the back of the roof. The ridge vent only goes across the very top of the peak of the hip roof. House is approximately 32' x 60' with a high roof pitch (designed for two additional rooms in the attic). Do we need the attic fans or will the soffit/ridge vents sufficiently allow air flow to the attic space?? I've heard the ridge vents pull air from the closest and largest source so the soffit vents aren't being used. If we take out

In Illinois, it was part of PE. Guess what P(hysical) E(ducation) was required all four years of HS to graduate. Included was drivers Ed. We also had to pass the Constitution test, it's a shame our kids aren't required to do this to graduate HS.

Oh, OK (tip toeing to the door). (whispering) Guess we'll see him some time tomorrow, glad he's safe

Say it ain't so!! BTW have you seen Otis???

Just checking on y'all. Making sure you didn't end up with Andy during the DUI checks tonight. Glad to see you are behaving.

I agree about Cliff, (I need to call him). He is very knowledgeable and knows roofs and insurance. My insurance company was very helpful and generous, I can't say enough good things about them (Auto Owners). But, my nephew is doing remodeling and jumped at the chance to do our roof. It's so much better to keep it in the family . He has done a great job and I am very pleased with the new look.

TV show about messy houses with local family
Cathyhelms replied to thedeanfurkids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well, I'm not better homes and gardens nor am I a complete slob. I like to think our house is lived in and I have my neat little piles of stuff. Now I do have to clean for the cleaning lady, you know put things away so she can really clean, but you might not want to look under my ben unless it is late spring. I still don't think I'd put my life on Reality TV, no matter what. -
This is exactly why attorneys get bad names. Any lawyer that would take a case like this needs to be strung up in the town square for everyone to throw rotten tomatoes at. I think there are a couple of judges that might want first shot.

Two women get police escort.

It's heart warming to know we still have that small town mentality. I know Paulding County has quadrupled in population since I moved here in 1983, ah I miss those days. I'm glad there are still good people in this world. WTG Dallas PD!! -
Back from Daytona, but Mr. Dis didn't stop by...
Cathyhelms replied to GRI5TH's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Looks like you had a blast JR. My sister lives in Ormond Beach and I love to go visit them, they are only about 10 minutes from Daytona. Are there any other beaches that you can actually drive on other than Daytona?? Moe I hate you can't go with them, but glad DD is getting the chance to spend some time with Dad. It will be very special for both of them. -
I wouldn't jump to the conclusion they were illegal. What I get is they see America as the land of dreams, an opportunity for them to make a better life for their children. I have lived in a place where there were many legal immigrants, they want nothing more than to be American. Most of the children are much better at mastering our language than they are. Good for you Converse for seeing the real person instead of just another immigrant. Makes you appreciate your life a little more. Libraries are such a simple pleasure.

Ok, I like tea.............a little Twisted but it really cools you down. A little hard to find in Georgia

I have some lilies at my office that could definitely use watering, we're right off 278 about 5 miles or so from Caped Crusader, in Dallas. I'd love to give her some $ for doing that. Encouragement is such a great reward. She sounds like a real worker, not so easy to find these days.

I can't blame you for being cautious. There are waaayyyy too many con artists out there. Hopefully it is a long time beloved family friend and she is just embarassed because she was afraid how you and your brother would react. If not, you'd better believe I'd be checking out who he was and where he came from. This is a whole lot different than not wanting your mom to be happy.
