I have to agree, the exhaust from the cars driving through the square is much worse than any cigaratte. The highlighted sentence is exactly what is going on here. Nothing more than a "feel good measure", makes them "feel good" to control people. Kinda reminds me of Prohibition.

I agree some smokers are obnoxious, some are not. I think there is a better way than making laws. Hire someone to write tickets for throwing a cigarette butt on the ground. At 25.00-50.00 per butt, their salary could be paid quickly. I don't think it's just about the butts, designated smoking areas work nicely.

I think it has to do with more government control. Little by little, we are being taxed to death and told what we can and cannot do. I was being sarcastic.
-
Shoot why not, they are already taxing the heck out of everyone. Fat people have health issues that normal weight people don't. They are already talking about a sugar/soda tax. Why not let the government control our every move?? I think people do not realize by allowing the government to tell people when and where they can smoke, drink and eat is only the beginning. More government control, yep that is what we need. People are not capable of handling this stuff without the government telling them what to do.

Let's put a federal tax on Big Macs and Whoppers, oh yea Pizza's too. Why not put a sin tax on any food that is not nutritious?? I would be willing to bet the government would make lots of $ or everyone would be thinner.

Thunder and lightening in Yorkville, rained a little at my moms 2 miles from me but nothing here yet.

This was just past our office, I have no idea what happened. Looked like only one vehicle.

Most of the State Parts and even Red Top Mountain have primitive camp sites. Unless a large group reqests them, they are generally available. Most folks don't want the primitive areas, so they often go unused. The Pocket up the other side of Rome has some tent sites (primitive) and I think they are first come, first served. Not real sure. Like 1novella we usually camp in large groups so I don't know of many secluded campsites.

Donating to Charitable Organizations in Paulding
Cathyhelms replied to Joejetzu's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm all about programs for the kids. Being involved in Scouting, that is where the bulk of our donations go every year. I just feel it makes for different kids to have the opportunity to be outdoors, trying many different things (not just sports) and doing community service. Scouting is a service organization, the older boys have to have a specific number of volunteer hours to advance to the next rank. The service cannot benefit Scouting or any business, it must be done to help an individual (elderly, families in need, etc) or another community organization. I have seen such a diffe -
Would have been great to see you but GiGi is definitely more important. Had a nice turn out. We almost went and stormed the PC office because we knew LPPT was out doing other things, but we chatted too long and had to get back to work. Maybe next time SG!!

This really is an awesome program, if you have a couple extra $, I know they would appreciate it sooooo much. It's tax deductible, too.

Prayers for your dad and family BB. I have to agree, Redmond is a wonderful hospital. My mom spent 10 days there a couple of months ago and they were great. She is healthier now than she has been in several years. You will be in my thoughts all day. Please let us know as soon as you are able how things went.

There are a few, I know of 3 that service Union/Yorkville area off the top of my head.
