  1. Started a thread on this in another forum, I agree this cost is a little high. We (Paulding County folks) really need to fill out these forms to help us get the representation we need in DC. This is what they use to have the correct number of house members up there, they use these numbers to allocate federal funds. If we don't fill them out, we lose. Other areas will be getting our share if we don't do this. Now the price they are paying to get this to happen is waaaayyyyy up there. Not just the super bowl ad but several others as well as paying the people to go door to door. Our c
  2. One of the reasons it's so good is their smoker is seasoned well. They've used it forever!! I like the food, but the place does look like a hole in the wall. It's been in Paulding County in the same location for all the 26 years I've been here.
  3. Juliet said "it worked", but they are still on the island and on the plane (past). Looks like the landing in LA has everyone in trouble............perhaps it was "better" they landed on the island. Looks like they still end up there no matter what, you can't change the past. I refuse to try and read stuff in to this any more. The writers originally wanted this show to only last a year or two, they've had to drag it out to last the six years it has been on. I'm glad it's ending but it really has taken a loooonnnnng time. Can't quit now, got too much time invested in it.
  4. Extra fundraisers are needed for each unit. Popcorn and Cookie sales are really a council event, that and out right donations is what the councils use to operate. So while we support all council fundraisers, we have a bunch of others that are strictly unit events. All they ask is we not wear our uniforms to promote a product, i.e., Cokes, M&Ms, KrispyKreme, etc. They don't want to give the impression scouts endorse or sell a particular name brand. The council encourages additional fund raisers. At least popcorn and cookie sales help the council. While the units make 50%, the compan
  5. This has been going on for years, the units get very low profits. A 5 or 10 dollar donation goes a lot further to help the individual units than buying 5 boxes of cookies. But who can resist them?? They were 50 cents a box when I was a girl scout. On the other hand, if you buy Boy Scout popcorn the profits are split equally between the Council and the units, each gets 35%. There are some rules like turning the money in on time and attending training that could affect 5% but every unit is guaranteed a minimum of 30%, if you follow the rules you get the whole 35%. So next year if a B
  6. Is it open?? Where is it?? I have no idea.
  7. Not sure, give them a call. I know Triangle has real butchers as West Metro does.
  8. 8:00 is the last episode of season 5, the premier is on at 9:00 and stays on til 11:00...........hope I can stay up but I set the dvr to record it just in case. LOL
  9. West Metro Meats in Dallas has some great tasting steaks as well. You shouldn't have a problem finding a local supplier. Triangle foods in Rockmart has some wonderful meats. They rotate them on about a 6-7 week cycle. They have rib-eyes from time to time for $5.99 per lb.
  10. NY Gal, my heart is breaking for you. Thank you for sharing this journey with us, what a wonderful sister you are. I know she knew how much she was loved.
  11. I'll give a heads up for Heath Flooring, great folks, good prices and very honest.
  12. Wonderful. It's amazing they can do this. My friend had this done and her little boy looked just like the ultrasound. Congrats!!!
  13. Very, very cute. Prayers going up for your sweetie.
  14. So what all do they have?? Clothes, furniture, household items? All of the above? You can share a little.
  15. Well Congrats!!! And welcome home.
  16. Please keep sharing, it's so heart warming to hear (see) the love in your heart.
  17. I don't like seafood, no shrimp, no lobster, no fish.......nada. I will occasionally eat crab legs because they don't taste fishy to me but they have to be warm and served with drawn butter. I also hate shopping.
  18. Yep, I blew it up again and I can definitely see the top of an apron around the neck. The face is kind of skeleton like.
  19. That would be more appropriate for the era.
  20. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. My experience with discount furniture stores is that it doesn't last too long. If she's just looking for something to use for a few years, by all means go with the least expensive. But if she wants something to last long term, she needs to look for some discounts at quality furniture stores. JMO Woodstock furniture has "some" quality furniture, watch for sales.
  21. I agree colder than it has been in a very long time. Good news is maybe some of the bugs and grubs got froze. I just hope things don't start leafing out, then get frozen back. A couple of years ago that happened and the wildlife had very little to eat, few apples, few berries and few wild blueberries. I know it was hard on them.
  22. What I see is to the right, second pane down.
  23. Tilex mold and mildew remover, the kind for the shower or X-14. Leave it on for about 5 minutes then wash it or it could destroy the fabric. It may bleach out the color, be careful.
  24. I clearly see a hat that looks something like this but that's all I can make out.
  25. The robins have come back two weeks early, I saw geese migrating North on Saturday...........maybe General Lee is right. However, in the fall the wooly worms said we would be cold in early winter, warm up in the middle and then cold again. The almanac mirrors the wooly worms. February is supposed to be above normal, March below normal. But April is supposed to be warm.
