  1. Well, I went to Briar Patch for lunch today, cost me $10.00 but I had my Hiram Cheese steak and fries. It was yummy!!
  2. Firehouse, my heart goes out to you. Teenagers are tough, I think CC has confirmed that lately as well. While they think they "know" everything, they can and do make bad choices. I call this the push me-pull you stage. They want to push you away, but pull you back when they realize their mistakes. Thank goodness it wasn't too late, and thank goodness your child confessed. Because you are a good parent, your child finally came clean, they knew what they were doing was wrong, they needed you to stop them. Keep talking, keep setting limits, don't be too hard on yourself or your child.
  3. Lady Raider, I assure you you won't be disappointed in the Hiram Cheesesteak at Briar Patch. It is very, very good!!
  4. She's gorgeous!! Congrats!!
  5. Ding, ding, ding!! We have a winner. It's still down 720 points from the beginning of this fiasco on August 3.
  6. I just try not to read more into something than I should. People that take their own lives do so because they wanted to, not because we didn't stop them. A lot of people are dramatic because they want attention.
  7. Instability is worrisome, good thing everyone left a little early today. It's only down 720 points since August 3.
  8. Because you are still in that larger pool. Your age and the younger peoples ages are sometimes averaged. With so many state workers there are probably thousands on the same plan, quantity discount if you will. Surely there is a trade association you can check in to for a better rate, we have one.
  9. OK, the insurance may not be that much cheaper, it's because you're not paying 100% that it appears cheaper. When you get Cobra or State Continuation of Health Insurance, the rates are not increased, you just become responsible for the entire premium. You are only being offered the opportunity to continue your current coverage.
  10. Generally insurance from your workplace is more affordable because you are put into a pool. They aren't selling one policy per se, they are selling many to several individuals. You can sometimes get put into a larger pool thorough an area organization, i.e., the Chamber of Commerce, Sam's Club, Costco Wholesale Club, a trade association, etc. No one has to purchase insurance from an employer. You just get better rates if you do.
  11. There are a lot that I see here. One in particular is a lot. Alot is not a word, allot means to allocate (give out) something. A lot is many (two words).
  12. I just came through there when I saw the fire trucks heading that way down 278. Praying everyone is OK.
  13. I've read about this before. I truly believe many of those on welfare would prefer to have jobs and break out of their misery. The way things are now, they may never realize that dream.
  14. Whitey, you're right. They were the do nothing Congress. The did nothing but spend more and let the car fall off the cliff. I agree.
  15. This recession didn't start unitl we had a seated Democratic congress. Everyone could buy a house, even if they couldn't pay for it. Housing was exploding to keep up with demand, housing prices were inflated way above what they should have been. That's what caused the current recession, the only way to fix it is to fix the housing crisis. Those few jobs the stimulus created cost us how much per job?? Most of them are gone now and it still didn't fix the problem. I agree completely with Star and Dru's Nana, the President needs to get out of the way. The best thing he can do is suppor
  16. Yes they do have concert and symphonic band, but as I remember it there were no strings.
  17. I have been through several recoveries, heck we started our business in 1990, a modest recession but I have never seen it like this.
  18. I'm a proud used to be Band Mom. I miss those kids, they've all grown up now. I do agree most are great academically, the valedictorian from my son's senior year was a band member, she went to Georgia Tech on a full scholarship.
  19. Whew!! I thought you were gonna build a bomb. I have no idea where to get them. Have you tried my favorite web site, amazon?? http://www.amazon.co...sprefix=luminol http://www.amazon.co...Acopper+sulfate http://www.amazon.co...onate&x=16&y=23
  20. I would like to think I am in the same box as you, that would make me proud. Mr. Bulger, well he could tell you a thing or two about me and my rebellion.
