  1. We got one for hubby and he likes it and feels it helps his back, hip and knee pain - but my daughter got on without knowing how to put her feet in the foot holder thingy and almost killed herself when it flipped her over and out on her head .....just be careful and READ the instructions
  2. I have on my computer 'desktop' for quick reference - since I don't know codes either - and the codes are somewhere on pcom site also. Paulding County Sheriff's Department Official 10-Code Directory 10-0 Caution 10-1 Unable to copy location 10-2 Signal Good 10-3 Stop Transmitting 10-4 Acknowledge (OK) 10-5 Relay 10-6 Busy, Unless Urgent 10-7 Out of Service 10-8 In Service 10-9 Repeat 10-10 Fight/Disorder Reported 10-11 Dog Case 10-12 Stand-by (Stop) 10-13 Weather/Road Report 10-14 Prowler Report 10-15 Burglary 10-16 Domestic Problem 10-17 Armed R
  3. So sorry for the loss of your mother.
  4. Deepest sympathy to the Maxwell family, you are in my prayers and thoughts - Martha Carver
  5. I was SOOOOOO happy when I saw it was open today when I left work at 5:30! The site foreman said they were trying to get it done faster than posted and they did. Way to go GA DOT! Just hope ATT doesn't come back and cut our phone and T-1 lines anymore
  6. He maybe a law enforcement officer working as emt as 2nd job (many firerfighters and police work couple of jobs to make ends meet). Emt's and police don't understand sometimes you can not hear the sirens due to doppler effect (car traveling while sound is traveling) and/or the car does nothave a place to go (as MAY have ben the case in this accident). EMTs and police do get very upset when they are trying to get to a call and cars don't get out of their way but it's unprofessional for the emt to curse at other driver.
  7. Condolence to Mr. Keener's family and friends. - Martha Carver
  8. Prayers and thoughts for the family.
  9. Seems like everyone is having problems with their neighbors - sorry to hear - have you tried signaling the Marshall with a mirror or smoke yet? There's a girl that lives in the pipe under our driveway and she charges us a toll! ....Awaiting your next post from the ditch - penguin maybe you need to check out Heathen's anyone know post and penguin's separated at birth thread for the funnies thing you have seen.
  10. Not the Paulding SWAT - they did a demo I watched a couple of months ago - They have to repel UPSIDE DOWN on a rope from a 3 story tower and also be able to repel down with another person hanging from them - they are awesome!
  11. Bwitchy, You have been in my thoughts. Thanks for the blog - I was concerned but didn't want to intrude. I'm glad you are able to stay postive......I never really liked Darrien anyway j/k - Hugs, love and support from your pcom family - Continuing to send prayers and positive thoughts for you and your family - Martha aka penguin
  12. Are you so sure J/K ....You DID the approriate thing...worked with the school, the counselors, bus driver, etc. to try to work the problem out (this is not to say the other mother has not tried as well and just ended up make a 'bad mistake' out of frustation). The difference was you didn't put you child in an unsafe situation.
  13. Once again - I'm saying we don't know all the facts surrounding what happened....BUT don't you think someone needs to look into this matter that was unsafe for her son and others? I trust the police officer's judgement if he/she felt DFCS needed to be called for an investigation (we have no idea if DFCS was called in)....if there's isn't a problem, Paulding DFCS would NOT open a case or intervene, DFCS doesn't want to be invovled in anyone's family unless it's needed for the safety of a child as required by state and federal laws...and community standards. From working in the field (5
  14. I agree - it's up to someone (law enforecement/DFCS) to check into this and make an eval. if it's child abuse or neglect....but I think everyone can agree...it's unsafe. In general, putting a child in an unsafe situation would be consider neglectful and/or abusive. I'm not saying the child needs to removed or a DFCS case open, etc....but Houston...we got a problem.
  15. L, what do you call putting a child in an unsafe situation? As I said - I dont' know everythink that was going on - but based what has been posted it's sounds like the child was in danger. If this is what the parent had to do to teach the kid a lesson - there is a problem.
  16. Any person with common sense would know that this was UNSAFE. I don't know all the facts....but I thank God that someone cared enough to call the police and let them gather the facts to protect a young child.
  17. Yeah, child abuse and neglect has a way of sticking with a kid - I get to see it every day. This was unsafe and there is parenting problems if is what a "parent" feels they must do to displine their child. DFCS and Law Enforcement DOES NOT want to interfer with ANYONE's family - but they MUST to protect children in unsafe situations as CHILDREN can not protect theirselves - we must do it as a communtiy. Happy Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month everyone
