I know what you mean, surepip! I might as well have burned a helliva bunch of 100 dollar bills, when I tried to go against them. My lawyers would tell me there was no use, "it's political," they would say. But, I just had taken a college course in business law, and I told them what the law was. I told them that if I had answered test questions in my college business course the way they are explaining the situation I would have made failing grades. I feel for ya, surepip, but there's nothing I can do to help. I am a broke man. I took a whipping like I certainly couldn't afford to get.

Thanks, you two! I was just reading about the setting on the back of the drives, one has to be set to master, and the other set to slave. I do have the IDE flat cable. When the new drive gets here I don't think I will have any problems. I noticed that IDE drives are cheaper than SATA drives. I am not familiar with the RAID controller, however!

My computer is only a 60GB. I ordered an 80GB (720RPM) hard drive from Ebay. It should be here within a day or two. I have studied up on how to install it. I installed extra RAM a couple weeks back, and I now have 1GB of RAM. That works fine. Now, with the new hard drive I will have 140 Gigs of hard drive. Is this the same as having one hard drive with a 140 Gigs? If not how does the master/slave work together?

Maybe, your gear is not working properly, dap! Put some axle grease on it.
