Braddock's Campaign Disclosures under Ethics Investigation
surepip replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
No false or dishonest claims. What is false and dishonest other than Paulette failing to disclose the thousands and thousands of dollars worth of printing and mailing she admits her company did for her campaign. There is a maximum ceiling on the amounts of in-kind donations, and she ignored all of it, even putting down $1, let along the thousands it cost. And no, absolutely NO campaign donations collected from July 1 through August 17 ? None ??? Now her attendance, tardiness, and voting record for her 8 years on the BOE has been thoroughly researched and will be available so -
English Starlings. Ugly little critters too. Kind of an orange beak and mottled feathers. And if they choose a roosting tree above your car you will be inundated with bird droppings. Nice to see them leaving for the year. When they come in during the spring, they will try to nest in chimney tops and then you have to listen to their fledglings chirping for weeks on end.....or you can decide to burn some trash in the fireplace

Ironically, it is the retailers who choose the packaging. Kroger, WalMart, etc., buy the cartons and they are shipped to the packing plants, filled with eggs, and then shipped to their warehouses. The old fashion paper/cardboard type of 2x6 containers actually protect the eggs better than the new styrafoam cartons, but the retailers like the styrafoam better. I don't seem many around here, but there is a clear plastic carton on the market now that is recyclable although I don't know the plastic code number. And, you can see if all the eggs are OK without opening the carton.

The August numbers unfortunately show a drop in consumption of retail packed eggs of more than 20%. I hope the media is proud of themselves. 97% of the producers get penalized because of 2 relatively small packers.

Braddock's Campaign Disclosures under Ethics Investigation
surepip replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Anderson has always been non-partisan, although he definitely has filed a large number of complaints concerning the 19th district seat. Richardson was a favorite target. The issue at hand is Braddock's Campaign Disclosures leave out more information than Deal's tax returns. A Post Commissioner mailing to the registered voters of a postcard is more than $4000. Logic would show a mailing for the district 19 seat would be twice as many [we have 4 posts and 2 legislative seats] so a ballpark of $8000. 3 [or was it 4 ?] mailings would be $24,000+, yet there is nothing reported. And now -
Well, the media has sensationalized another industry into severe losses with less than truthful news. Just saw the August egg sale numbers. More than a 20% drop, and prices fell from $1.30+ per dozen to $0.70. By coincidence, new FDA regulations concerning new protocols to control SE contamination took effect the same week the 2 facilities in Iowa were found to be SE positive. Prior to the new rules, the industry has been voluntarily inspecting for SE for more than 15 years. We started doing so many years ago because it was the right and smart thing to do, and the industry did not want

I don't believe this is a "new" ordinance, just that the BoC is finally getting around to enforcing what is, best I can recall, a "Litter on a Stick" state law passed several years ago. As I remember, the Marshall's office started enforcing that law when it took effect, and were then called off because the building community put pressure on them to allow the signs to stay. One provision in the law was for the county to put up sign Kiosks at major intersections and rent spaces on it to those wanting to put the signs up. Keep America Beautiful and Keep Paulding Beautiful were both i

New version of an old joke John'sChicken Farm John was in the poultry business. He had severalhundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets', and sufficient roosters to fertilize them. He sold the eggs to a local hatchery. Hekept meticulous records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and wasreplaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tinybells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so hecould tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he couldsit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to

Braddock's Campaign Disclosures under Ethics Investigation

Anderson used to be called a "Gadfly" by the Richardson camp for all his complaints filed against Richardson with the Ethics commission. But Anderson is still there fighting for the voter's rights to know the financial details about the candidates. Richardson and his camp are gone. Speaks volumes. -
Freezer needs some thinning out. Chicken Cordon Blue in a wine sauce with noodles. In a vacuum sealed freezer bag from a couple of months ago. Green beans from the garden with a romaine & arugula salad. An Aussie Pinot Grigio to accompany.

Good old Georgia politics. The District 19 Legislative Seat is in the spotlight again. Must be some sort of a hex placed on any Republicans running for this seat. It seems all end up on a first name basis with the Georgia Ethics Commission. Braddock's Campaign Disclosures filed after the August run-off are under investigation by the State Ethics Commission Paulding.com news has a story on this from last night on the Fastread page. And here is a link: Ethics Investigation Pubby's News Link P.com news The investigation is centered on all of the Braddock mailers

Just be glad you can buy into reasonable group rates. Many self employed cannot. I spoke to an old business associate last night for the first time in close to a year. We are about the same age, and work within the poultry industry with equipment. He asked about my insurance, and reminded him MrsSurepip went to work for the state 4 years ago just so we could buy the state insurance. At that time our 2006 premiums were $2500 per month with BCBS, and Joe's were about the same. His 2010 premium is $3400 a month. We did learn this week the state insurance effective January 1st will be

MrsSurepip, along with both kids, and myself went to Dr. Wehunt for the past 20+ years. I thought he was a great doctor and Miss Debbie a very able and caring assistant. He was very conservative in what he would prescribe, and was dead on target with everything he ever diagnosed any of us with. Yes, he could have at times a rather gruff bedside manner, but more than made up for that with his treatment plans and no-nonsense approach. He was terse, and would glare at you over his glasses with a "you are full of bs look" if you tried to pull one over on him. With the various avian based

Politics 2010 - How are you going to vote - early indications
surepip replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Both on the local level, and statewide, the Georgia GOP just keeps picking losers, leaving the Dems as the only viable alternative. Do you want a governor who is 5Million in debt ? Or a Dem who is profitable ? Just looking at it from the angle of what does he have to gain, at our expense. -
My old crown of Buckhead Boys are those who invented "Shootin the Hooch". We did so as a means of having a party on a weekend afternoon exempt from police jurisdiction. Back in the 1960s there were no rangers, and we knew if we could get out "hooch" from the cars to the rafts at Morgan Falls, we were beyond jurisdictions until we got out at Lovett. It was one hell of a party until Gary McKee and Quixie discovered our safe haven. Then they started the damn raft race and it all went to hell. RIP Red, you and Gary were a staple of Atlanta's partying crowd for many years. Dayam

Much like the BOC Post races, you can only vote in your post, but in essence all 5 of the commissioners represent ALL of Paulding, We have District 17 and 19 legislative seats, 17 on the west side of the county and the very NE, and 19 from Hiram to almost Dabbs Bridge. And we have the 30 and 31 senate seats, which spill over into Harralson on one side and West Cobb on the other. The next legislative assembly will also do re-apportionment based on the new census figures. Paulding should pick up another Legislative seat based on population increase since 2000. We really should ge

The impact fee issue was discussed with our representatives several years back whilst Shearin and company were steering the boat. Bill Heath specifically responded to me, and several others, that he had discussed impact fee legislation for Paulding with our BOC and BOE, both of whom told him they did not want any impact fee legislation. That kind of speaks volumes I would say. Review Shearin's campaign donations and virtually every major developer, along with their wives and children are all donors to the max. Add to that the simple FACT the developers have been more than willing t

I don't think Paulette will be seen much in a public forum or debate one on one with Will. Not enough to gain, and way too much to lose. There are indeed a whole covey of skeletons in her closet she does not want to address. I am certain some of this will go public at some point in time. There is her attendance and voting record on the BOE she does not want to discuss. This also is available in the public domain. And the last thing she wants to do in a public debate type of forum is have to think on her feet and speak off the cuff versus Will Avery. I seriously doubt we will s
-
NG, I hope you read a reply from Will Avery soon, but I have to at least jump in based on several of the red comments. The pre-existing conditions in our health coverage bankrupt too many people. It is a morally wrong approach and needs to be addressed. As long as you never change jobs and never let coverage lapse, and are not denied things might be different. But all this does happen, continually and there are too many denied coverage as a result. Someone laid off who cannot afford Cobra, and then gets another job and is denied is wrong. If the state is giving Kia huge incentives an

Nice meeting you at Paulding Meadows. Just think, you could be in our position. We traded in the gravel road for 1 year of muddy rutted roads while they started construction around us. Then having to face having our frontage just "Taken"....no eminent domain, no nothing. And, we are still paying taxes on what is now then entire "paved road" plus 2-1/2 feet of the front yards across the street, not to mention having all our other zoning stipulations just ignored as if nothing was ever written. The road is paved now, we just have to dodge the sewer covers that we were not allowed to

Aw come on now, I was just asking for Pubby's opinion. I have met some interesting Democrat related lawyers the past couple of months. Just wondering if I should drop one a line about RR's pundit site. And his friend Ithy? Believe me, I know about obtaining as much justice as you can pay for. -
No, I feel it is more along the lines of he was too honest to try to run as a Paulding GOP Candidate. Our local GOP has preached and run on Conservative Values for the past 10+ years, yet when the rocks are turned over and the slugs exposed to sunlight they all run away from conservative values. From having affairs, to voting for tax increase after tax increase they like to talk the talk of Conservatism, and then they live lifestyles and cast votes which are the opposite. Our local GOP has become the laughing stock of the state. Under the gold dome everyone wants to know if it is
