  1. People ask all the time if they could get a courtesy notice if a mod moves their post, doesn't seem to happen.... Seems like a very small thing to ask so people don't repetively post in the wrong place.
  2. I know when I bought my last house I made SURE nothing else could be built behind me because I knew it would affect my enjoyment of the home. Had they told me, yes, a store or a home could have been built there I would have said no thank you. But if you did not WANT a commercial property in the front of your subdivision you should have researched what the vacant land in front of your subdivision was zoned for.... Then bought somewhere else along 61 where it was the environment you desired.... Either you bought knowing what the property was zoned, you didn't research what the land was zoned
  3. There is a HUGE difference between persistantly applying for available positions as they come open and persistantly inquiring over a resume submitted for A position.
  4. The repeat visits are probably what is killing you. As an interviewer I hate it. If I find someone interesting I will interview them. I do not respond to the 500 plus resumes I receive stating I have no interest in their application, there is just no time for that. My advice is, submit your resume, and if it's something you are really interested in follow up with them once. Any more than that and you are likely annoying the person in charge of getting you in the interview seat. It's a tough time right now, everyone is going for part time jobs. SO.... my best advice is to back off
  5. See post #118 for part of the response. I would guess IF they are convicted or plead to a deal then that will likely be offered. But it is a good question on if the DA has the ability to withhold that option....
  6. Doesn't seem so bad if they just find something to do full time for the summer. 40 hours for 10 weeks and they will get it done and move on. Seems like if they really push it they could have all requirements done by September. The other alternative is 8 hours a week and be done in a year, hardly harsh at all.
  7. I think they would have to be convicted of a felony to get first offender if I understand it correctly. But in this case the charges would be dropped. I would be completely shocked if they all don't take it, it would be stupid not to....
  8. The only thing I don't agree with is that one person could have to pay the entire balance if the others don't. (If I read that correctly). I think each one should be held responsible for the amount divided equally between the 24 and those who don't pay should be punished for not paying. But to say one could be responsible for all of it if the others don't pony up, that's stupid. But I agree with everything else as being fair except of course it not being removed from their record as Mrs. O'Halleran pointed out.... If they are first time offenders that should be offered.
  9. I think some of y'all have a very unnatural attachment to your roads... If you haven't seen "My Strange Addiction" on TLC with the guy and the red Monte Carlo, you should, because that is how I am picturing y'all with your roads!
  10. Cannot stand Comcast, I gladly paid them penalties to get out of my contract with them in the second month, customer service is a horrendous mess. We are very pleased with out UVerse service, I will do the speed test tonight when I get home.
  11. Yes, she is across from Hardy Ford. I use her and am very pleased with her services. If it's a refund I THINK he only has to pay the penalty for late filing and then is entitled to any refunds due to him (less taxes owed in other years of course), but I don't know that for sure. My Dad was HORRIBLE about filing his taxes and often did several years at a time which amazed me because he always got money back. But he seemed to not want to do them until he got a letter saying they were coming after him if he didn't file. It was like a sport to him!
  12. We have hundreds of payments go through our system here and found many after the fact that never were signed and we have yet to have one returned. You would think they would check for that but apparently it's not a big deal to them!
  13. I assumed the guard rail, but someone running that light is a good possibility too.
  14. Wow... they were definitely cruising along...
  15. I agree, I have gotten many outstanding deals and sold a good bit of things using Craigslist with zero issues at all. I would have paid significantly more by using ebay so I find Craigslist quite effective.
  16. No, it's actually in the same land as the doctor's complex, I believe the two are connected.
  17. I can assure you I am neither angry nor going to go crazy thinking about it. Mind boggling to think about, maybe, something to stress over... Nah...
  18. I see what you are saying but seriously where does it end? We are now making it very, VERY difficult for people to want to get off their butts. So, there are more tax dollars going out for healthcare, paying their groceries, rent, etc. That WAY eats up more $$$ than you are talking. Again, I get what you are saying, but feel you are very wrong. I can see providing the very basics, shelter, food, but a cell phone? That is !
  19. I am just STUNNED at what some of these kids are saying on Facebook, there is NO WAY their parents even remotely check on them or monitor their account. Middle schoolers saying things that could get them arrested, talking about sexual conquests, language that is just wow, outright threats to others. I see it all the time on there but today they are just going wild! Dang....
  20. I understand your being upset with the store, but honestly the bigger problem on your homes value is within the subdivision. That Dollar General is the least of your worries from a home value standpoint.
